A fast charging circuit for NiCd battery used in implant electronic systems is described. The circuit utilized the techniques of 1) sensing the internal gas pressure and temperature rise by sensing of the battery terminal voltage, and 2) setting the maximum charging current according to the concept of charge retention capacity, >95 percent after 100 cycles, of the battery. Experimental results show that a B-20 cell can be fully charged in 20 minutes instead of 14 hours.  相似文献

A multilayered planar model is used to examine the dependence of whole-body power absorption on the configuration of surface layers, e.g., skin, fat, and muscle which normally occur in biological bodies. It is found that the layering resonance for three-dimensional bodies (as opposed to the geometrical resonance) can be predicted quite accurately by a planar model. Calculations for a multilayered prolate spheroidal model of man predict a whole-body layering resonance at 1.8 GHz with a power absorption 34 percent greater than that predicted by a homogeneous model.  相似文献

Attempts have been made to synthesize the compositions with x = 0.01, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40, and 0.50 in the valence-compensated solid-solution Ba1–xLaxTi1–xNixO3 by ceramic methods. Solid solutions formed in the compositions with x0.10. The structure of the composition with x = 0.01 is tetragonal, whereas samples with x = 0.05 and 0.10 are cubic. A ferroelectric-paraelectric transition is observed only in the composition with x = 0.01 at ∼ 350 K.  相似文献

Conjugated polymers are encouraging substitute for creating clean and renewable energy for photoinduced charge generation and transport media in polymer solar cells (PSCs). Successful synthesis of a new solution processable n-type polythiophene based π-conjugated polymer (P3HT-CN) is done where polythiophene units are substituted by cyano groups through post functionalization approach of synthesized P3HT which is cheap, stable, easily prepared, and inert against ambient conditions and is expected to be a competitive candidate for the acceptor material in non fullerene acceptors (NFAs) PSCs against fullerene derivative and used as the highly efficient active layer in the bulk heterojunction (BHJ) which increase the donor-acceptor interfacial area through controlling the phase separation indicating device structure ITO/PEDOT:PSS/P3HT:P3HT-CN/Al. Photovoltaic measurement of this PSCs device based on P3HT:P3HT-CN demonstrate the PCE of 0.008% with an increased short circuit current density (Jsc) of 0.11 mA cm−2. The thermal, optical, and electrochemical properties are examined in detail showing high thermal stability, absorbance in the visible part of the solar spectrum, higher charge carrier mobility, and also mixed type corrosion inhibitive behavior with 90 and 78% inhibitor efficiency for P3HT and P3HT-CN, respectively, built this class of material as smart which can be used for many other applications.  相似文献

Piezoresistive behavior of 6 to 9 wt % Ketjenblack‐reinforced deproteinized natural rubber (KB/DPNR) nanocomposite developed by two‐roll mill was studied under compressive pressure (0 to 12.54 MPa). The 6 wt % KB/DPNR exhibited monotonic piezoresistivity, the highest electrical resistance change (485%), remarkable reversibility and minimal hysteresis. Furthermore, a good sensitivity (S) = 1.1 MPa?1 for 0.25 to 2.49 MPa, high test–retest reliability (intraclass correlation co‐efficient, ICC = 0.99) under 0 to 2.49 MPa for three repetitions conducted at an interval of 24 h and excellent repeatability (standard deviation, SD = 4.8%) to a swing of 6.25 MPa for 50 cyclic compression were achieved. Homogeneous dispersion and high aspect ratio of KB and higher chemical linkage (due to double crosslinking agents) between KB and DPNR may be responsible for the enhanced piezoresistivity. For practical application, the KB/DPNR was interfaced with the microcontroller through a bridge rectifier via custom‐built Simulink and successfully monitored finger pressure in real time during bone movement on human. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Increasing trend in global business integration and movement of material around the world has caused supply chain system susceptible to disruption involving higher risks. This paper presents a methodology for supplier selection in a global sourcing environment by considering multiple cost and risk factors. Failure modes and effects analysis technique from reliability engineering field and Bayesian belief networks are used to quantify the risk posed by each factor. The probability and the cost of each risk are then incorporated into a decision tree model to compute the total expected costs for each supply option. The supplier selection decision is made based on the total purchasing costs including both deterministic costs (such as product and transportation costs) and the risk-associated costs. The proposed approach is demonstrated using an example of a US-based Chemical distributor. This framework provides a visual tool for supply chain managers to see how cost and risks are distributed across the different alternatives. Lastly, managers can calculate expected value of perfect information to avoid a certain risk.  相似文献

Shot peening is a cold working process used for improving the fatigue strength of metallic components. An optimum set of peening parameters must increase the residual compressive stress (RCS), but reduce the surface roughness and cold work for improving the fatigue strength. The optimization is made robust to avoid any unfeasible solution that may arise out of random variations of input variables. The current study uses the well-known Design and Analysis of Computer Experiments (DACE) methodology for optimization, which is better than the conventional Design of Experiments (DoE) approach. It employs a finite element method based unit cell approach to determine the RCS, surface roughness and cold work of a given material. Radial basis functions are used to develop the meta-models. A genetic algorithm (GA) is employed for finding a robust and optimum set of shot peening parameters for a given material. With this approach, the operator will achieve the optimum solution specified by the designer.  相似文献
