The purpose of surface treatment (conditioning) methods on dental ceramics is to improve the retention and bonding between the enamel or the dentin and ceramic veneer, with the help of resin composite luting cements. These types of surface treatments include chemically altering the surface of ceramics with some specific acidic etchants followed by applying a silane coupling agent (silane). The silane currently used in dentistry is 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane, a hybrid organic–inorganic trialkoxy ester monomer, which is diluted in an acidified water-ethanol solvent system. Such silane primers are said to be pre-hydrolyzed. Some oxide ceramics with high crystalline content, such as alumina and zirconia, cannot be easily etched with acid etchants. They should be silica-coated and silanized prior to bonding. A silane coupling agent should be applied after silica-coating to the ceramic surface to achieve chemical bonding and the optimal durable bond strength.  相似文献

In this article we use fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) to investigate how a classic coalescing aid, such as 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol monoisobutyrate (Texanol?) (TX), acts on the earliest stages of polymer diffusion as the latex film is still drying. In our approach, we temporarily arrest the drying process of a partially wet latex film by sealing it in an airtight chamber previously cooled to near the latex Tg. At these conditions, we are able to effectively stop the drying process and the polymer diffusion. FRET measurements at various locations on such a sample provide us information about the mechanism operating at the initial stages of polymer diffusion as the latex film is still drying. We complete our study with FRET measurements carried out at longer aging times on predried latex films. We analyze our diffusion data in terms of free volume theory and propose a mechanism that can account for the results obtained.  相似文献

This study investigated the kinetics and reaction mechanisms associated with advanced oxidation of 2,4-dinitroanisole (DNAN) with light emitting diodes (LEDs) in the UV/H2O2 process. The pseudo first-order reaction rate constants for DNAN oxidation depended on the H2O2/DNAN molar ratio and were between 0.017 and 0.026 min−1. Hydroxyl radical scavenging was strongly implicated by the experimental results. High mass spectrophotometric chromatograms showed the presence of several by-products, including three with ecotoxicity that is greater than that of DNAN. Transformation pathways were analysed using Density Functional Theory (DFT), which helped to predict the presence of experimentally detected DNAN by-products by considering Mulliken charges. This study is the first to elucidate DNAN transformation mechanisms using both experimental studies and computational chemistry.  相似文献

Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (nano‐TiO2) are widely used in consumer products, raising environmental and health concerns. An overview of the toxic effects of nano‐TiO2 on human and environmental health is provided. A meta‐analysis is conducted to analyze the toxicity of nano‐TiO2 to the liver, circulatory system, and DNA in humans. To assess the environmental impacts of nano‐TiO2, aquatic environments that receive high nano‐TiO2 inputs are focused on, and the toxicity of nano‐TiO2 to aquatic organisms is discussed with regard to the present and predicted environmental concentrations. Genotoxicity, damage to membranes, inflammation and oxidative stress emerge as the main mechanisms of nano‐TiO2 toxicity. Furthermore, nano‐TiO2 can bind with free radicals and signal molecules, and interfere with the biochemical reactions on plasmalemma. At the higher organizational level, nano‐TiO2 toxicity is manifested as the negative effects on fitness‐related organismal traits including feeding, reproduction and immunity in aquatic organisms. Bibliometric analysis reveals two major research hot spots including the molecular mechanisms of toxicity of nano‐TiO2 and the combined effects of nano‐TiO2 and other environmental factors such as light and pH. The possible measures to reduce the harmful effects of nano‐TiO2 on humans and non‐target organisms has emerged as an underexplored topic requiring further investigation.  相似文献

We report the fabrication and the characterization of the refractometric and thermo-optical properties of a quasi-one-dimensional waveguide photonic crystal-a strong, 76-/spl mu/m-long Bragg grating. The transmission spectra (around 660 nm) of the structure have been measured as a function of both the cladding refractive index and the temperature. The transmission stopband was found to shift by 0.8-nm wavelength for either a cladding refractive index change of 0.05 or a temperature change of 120 K. The steep stopband edges provide a sensitive detection method for this band shift, by monitoring the transmitted output power.  相似文献

The operation and mechanical construction of an instrument which measures the shape of aspheric surfaces with ± 5 nm precision is reported1. The instrument makes use of contacting probes, and it functions on the basis of an optical differential technique. To achieve maximum performance the equipment is built in glass-ceramic (Zerodur) and Invar. A digital PLL bit synchronizer with variable loop bandwidth for rapid acquisition and good tracking performance is proposed, and its performance analyzed using Markov chain techniques. Results are presented for the distributions of acquisition time and time to first bit slip in terms of state transition probabilities. For burst mode data, results for the timing error and bit error rate as a function of the preamble bit number are obtained. All results are evaluated by repeated matrix products and verified by simulation. Comparison of the variable bandwidth DPLL to a fixed bandwidth DPLL shows significantly faster acquisition for a given tracking performance  相似文献

Activation of prejunctional beta-adrenoceptors has been suggested to increase the release of noradrenaline but to decrease the neural release of ATP in the guinea-pig vas deferens. Experiments were carried out to determine the subtype of beta-adrenoceptor involved. In [3H]-noradrenaline-preincubated tissues superfused with medium containing prazosin and suramin, isoprenaline (1-100 nM), salbutamol (0.01-1 microM) and terbutaline (0.1-10 microM) increased the overflow of tritium but reduced the overflow of ATP elicited by electrical stimulation (210 pulses/7 Hz). The effects of isoprenaline were blocked by the beta 2-selective antagonist 1-[2,3-(dihydro-7-methyl-1H-inden-4-yl)oxy]-3- [(1-methylethyl)amino]-2-butanol (ICI 118,551; 100 nM). In prazosin- and suramin-free medium, isoprenaline (100 nM) did not change the overflow of ATP elicited by exogenous noradrenaline (10 microM). Isoprenaline (1-100 nM), salbutamol (0.01-1 microM) and terbutaline (0.1-10 microM) reduced the initial twitch contraction elicited by electrical stimulation (210 pulses/7 Hz) in prazosin- and suramin-free medium as well as the isolated purinergic neurogenic contraction obtained by exposure to prazosin. They increased or tended to increase the secondary sustained concentration elicited by electrical stimulation in prazosin- and suramin-free medium as well as the isolated adrenergic neurogenic contraction obtained in the presence of suramin. The inhibition by isoprenaline of the isolated purinergic contraction was attenuated by ICI 118,551 (100 nM) but not by the beta 1-selective antagonist 1-[2-((3-carbamoyl- 4-hydroxy)phenoxy)ethylamino]-3-[4-(1-methyl-4- trifluoromethyl-2-imidazolyl)phenoxy]-2-propanol (CGP 20712A; 100 nM). The results confirm the opposite beta-adrenoceptor-mediated modulation of noradrenaline and neural ATP release in the guinea-pig vas deferens. They show that the prejunctional beta-adrenoceptor is of the beta 2-subtype.  相似文献
