The reactions of ruthenium VIII tetroxide (RuO4) and the ruthenium VII and VI oxyanions, perruthenate (RuO4 ) and ruthenate (RuO4 =) with hydroxy substituted and unsaturated fatty acids have been studied. At a 1:1 molar ratio, ruthenium tetroxide (RuO4) and both oxyanions (RuO4 and RuO4 =) oxidized 12-hydroxystearic acid to 12-ketostearic acid. With 9, 10-dihydroxystearic acid, the type of oxidation products obtained depended on the amount of ruthenium oxidant used. At high ratios of oxidant to substrate, cleavage to pelargonic and azelaic acids occurred whereas at lower ratios, partial oxidation to diketo and acyloin derivatives predominated. The oxidation of oleic acid with excess ruthenium tetroxide (RuO4) or perruthenate anion (RuO4 ) gave the cleavage products pelargonic and azelaic acid through the intermediate formation of dihydroxy and diketo intermediates. The purpose of this paper is to present a metod to calculate real molecular weight averages of polymer samples from GPC chromatograms where the instrumental spreading functions are skewed and the concentration effect exists. In this method, it is assumed that (1) the skewed chromatograms of monodisperse polymer samples can be represented as resultant of halves of two different Gaussians, (2) the resolution factors are regarded as constant in the case of low sample loading, and (3) the peak elution volume is independent of the presence of other components in the case of low sample loading. Adequate monodisperse polystyrenes and the mixtures (binary, seven and ten components) were examined for this purpose; and the molecular weight averages calculated by this method were compared with the ones obtained by Rosen and Provder's method. From the results in our study, it is found that this method can be available for correcting molecular weight from GPC chromatograms except for very narrow high molecular weight samples.  相似文献

In this study, white organic electroluminescent devices with microcavity structures were developed. A flexible high‐resolution active‐matrix organic light‐emitting diode display with low power consumption using red, green, blue, and white sub‐pixels formed by a color‐filter method was fabricated. Some stereoblind observers do not perceive depth of 3D stimuli that depends on binocular disparity. These individuals, who have no disabilities, comprise over 5% of the general population. In addition, 17–30% of nonstereoblind young and young–middle people do not use disparity information in certain 3D environments, a phenomenon known as pseudo‐stereoblindness. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between aging and the proportion of pseudo‐stereoblindness in the general population. In an experiment, 134 nonstereoblind participants, ranging in age from 17 to 83 years, judged subjective depth of 3D stimuli containing binocular disparity and pictorial depth cues. Results showed that the proportion of pseudo‐stereoblindness among young (17–24 years old) and young–middle aged observers (25–39 years old) was 29%, in both cases. However, the proportion of pseudo‐stereoblind observers increased in older populations: 65% and 82% in the middle (40–54 years old) and senior (55–83 years old) age groups, respectively. These results suggest that a number of people, especially in elderly populations, have trouble perceiving depth from binocular disparity in 3D graphic contents despite their essential ability to use disparity information.  相似文献

The variation of surface residual stress within a machined surface layer caused by face turning was studied. The size of the tool’s corner radius and the feed rate affect residual stress. A process model using the finite element method is proposed and the mechanical effects of the corner radius and feed rate on a machined surface were discussed. When a tool with a small corner radius is used, surface residual stress perpendicular to the cutting direction becomes compression stress. As well, surface residual stress changes from tension to compression as the feed rate decreases. The process model consists of an orthogonal cutting simulation and an indentation-like simulation of a corner radius into a work piece surface. The simulated results show quantitative agreement with the residual stress measured experimentally. The integrity of the machined surface will be controlled more efficiently if the cutting conditions during finishing are determined with the proper consideration of the surface generating process.  相似文献

In quenching, the cooling uniformity is most important to diminish distortion occurring on work pieces. As a trial to accomplish uniform cooling, therefore, there exist various mixing methods of a quenchant and the quenchant circulation with an external pump has so far been the well accepted mixing method. However, this study proposes an advanced oscillation mixing method that can improve more the cooling uniformity in quenching. The proposed method includes a stirrer in oscillating motion, so that the simultaneous oscillating and mixing movements of the stirrer are considered to provide efecfively the uniform cooling characteristics for the quenchant. In comparison with the case of the circulation pump mixing, the investigation using the oscillation mixing method has demonstrated the following two experimental facts:(1) the short vapor blanket stage caused by the quick breakage of the oil vapor blanket and (2) the reduced variation of the quenching distortion.  相似文献

The presence of a concentration gradient across a thin liquid film leads to the phenomenon of isothermal liquid film migration (LFM). In most cases, the concentration gradient is due to coherency stresses, and the migration of the liquid film results in the relaxation of these stresses. It is also possible to envisage cases in which LFM occurs as a result of chemical solubility differences between stable and metastable phases. Both situations are examined in this contribution with special emphasis on the effect of adding a second solute element to the liquid phase. The kinetics of LFM is examined as a function of the initial liquid concentration and the ratio of the solute diffusion coefficients in a model coherency-driven ternary system. The growth of the Γ2 inside δ particles in the Zn-Fe-Al system is presented as a possible example of chemically driven LFM. For the effective use of short-lived radioactive beams, soon to be available at the Tokai Radioactive Ion Accelerator Complex, the authors have developed a radiotracer method for diffusion studies in solids. The experimental test was performed by the measurement of the diffusion coefficients of Li in a sample of the compound βLiAl using an α-emitting radiotracer of 8Li (T1/2=0.84 s). It was found that the time-dependent yields of the α particles from the diffusing 8Li that was initially implanted in the sample could be used as a measure of the diffusivity of the tracer in a nondestructive way. The method was applied to measure the self-diffusion coefficients of Li in βLiGa, and for investigating how the Li diffusion in the Li ionic conductors is affected by the concentration of atomic defects (i.e., the existence of the atomic vacancies of Li and the defects in Ga sites that are replaced by Li).  相似文献

This article describes microstructure control aimed for wear-resistance improvement of Co-based (Co-Cr-W-B-Si) self-fluxing alloy coating by diffusion treatment. The diffusion treatments of thermally sprayed Co-based self-fluxing alloy coating on steel substrate were carried out at 1370-1450 K for 600-6000 s under an Ar gas atmosphere. Microstructural variations of the coating and the interface between the substrate and the coating were investigated in detail. A proper diffusion treatment precipitates two kinds of fine compounds in Co-based matrix. X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA) analysis revealed these precipitates to be a chromium boride dissolving cobalt and a tungsten boride containing cobalt and chromium. The size of each precipitate became larger with increasing treatment temperature and time. A coating with the proper size borides showed a superior wear-resistance.
