A detailed CPU execution-time analysis and implementation are given for a bulk loading algorithm to construct R-trees due to García et al. [Y.J. García, M.A. López, S.T. Leutenegger, A greedy algorithm for bulk loading R-trees, in: GIS'98: Proc. of the 6th ACM Intl. Symp. on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, Washington, DC, 1998, pp. 163-164] which is known as the top-down greedy split (TGS) bulk loading algorithm. The TGS algorithm makes use of a classical bottom-up packing approach. In addition, an alternative packing approach termed top-down packing is introduced which may lead to improved query performance, and it is shown how to incorporate it into the TGS algorithm. A discussion is also presented of the tradeoffs of using the bottom-up and top-down packing approaches.  相似文献

This paper proposes a method to evaluate the size quality as well as the shape quality of constrained surface meshes, the constraint being either a given metric or the geometric metric associated with the surface geometry. In the context of numerical simulations, the metric specifications are those related to the finite element method. The proposed measures allow to validate the surface meshes within a general mesh adaption scheme, the metric map being usually provided via an a posteriori error estimate. Cadmium mercury selenide (CdHgSe) nanocrystals exhibit a unique combination of low-energy optical absorption and emission, which can be tuned from the visible to the infrared range through both quantum confinement and adjustment of their composition. Owing to this advantage, such nanocrystals have been studied as a promising narrow-band infrared light emitter. However, the electroluminescence of CdHgSe-based nanocrystals has remained largely unexplored, despite their potential for emitting light in the telecom wavelength range. Further benefits to their optical properties are expected from their shape control, in particular the formation of 2D nanocrystals, as well as from a proper design of their heterostructures. In this work, a colloidal synthesis of CdHgSe/ZnCdS core/shell nanoplatelets (NPLs) starting from CdSe template NPLs employing a cation exchange strategy is developed. The heterostructures synthesized exhibit photoluminescence that can be tuned from ≈1300 to 1500 nm. These near-infrared-active NPLs are employed in light-emitting diodes, demonstrating low turn-on voltage and high external quantum efficiency.  相似文献

用有限差分法对激光辐照下复合材料树脂基热解时的一维温度场模型进行数值求解,将数值模拟结果与相关文献中给出的实验结果进行对比.结果表明:考虑了对流传输效应的数值模拟结果比没有考虑对流传输效应的数值模拟结果与实验结果符合的更好,即热分解气体的对流传输对树脂基复合材料的温度场有较大的影响.因此,在不引入力学量的前提下,建立激光辐照下复合材料树脂基热解时的三维温度场模型时,需要考虑热分解气体的对流传输效应.  相似文献

In this article an attempt was made to fabricate defect‐free asymmetric polysulfone (PSf) membranes for the separation of oxygen and nitrogen. The approach is based on the enhanced delayed demixing by blending surface modifying macromolecules (SMMs) in the casting solution and by immersing the cast film in isopropanol for a certain period before it is immersed in water. Different SMMs, including hydrophobic and charged SMMs, were synthesized, characterized, and blended to the host PSf. It was found that the charged SMM could indeed contribute to the removal of defective pores from the skin layer and enhancement of oxygen/nitrogen selectivity. The experimental results were further interpreted based on the shift of the phase boundary line on the polymer/solvent/nonsolvent triangular diagram, which occurred when SMMs were blended to PSf, due to the change in the polymer/nonsolvent interaction. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, we investigate a multi-plant, production planning and distribution problem for the simultaneous optimisation of production, inventory control, demand allocation and distribution decisions. The objective of this rich problem is to satisfy the dynamic demand of customers while minimising the total cost of production, inventory and distribution. By solving the problem, we determine when the production needs to occur, how much has to be produced in each of the plants, how much has to be stored in each of the warehouses and how much needs to be delivered to each customer in each period. On a large real data-set inspired by a case obtained from an industrial partner, we show that the proposed integration is highly effective. Moreover, we study several trade-offs in a detailed sensitivity analysis. Our analyses indicate that the proposed scenarios give the company competitive advantage in terms of reduced total logistics cost, and also highlight more possibilities that become available taking advantage of an integrated approach towards logistics planning. These abundant opportunities are to be synergised and exploited in an interconnected open global logistics system.  相似文献

Recently, optimization makes an important role in our day-to-day life. Evolutionary and population-based optimization algorithms are widely employed in several of engineering areas. The design of an optimization algorithm is a challenging endeavor caused of physical phenomena in order to obtain appropriate local and global search operators. Generally, local operators are fast. In contrast, global operators are used to find best solution in the search space; therefore they are slower compare to the local ones. The best review-knowledge of papers show that there are many optimization algorithms such as genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization, artificial bee colony and etc in the engineering as a powerful tools. However, there is not a comprehensive review for theirs topologies and performance; therefore, the main goal of this paper is filling of this scientific gap. Moreover, several aspects of optimization heuristic designs and analysis are discussed in this paper. As a result, detailed explanation, comparison, and discussion on AI are achieved.
