In this study, the effect of low selenium concentrations on bacteria growth, selenium bioaccumulation, and selenium speciation in Pediococcus acidilactici was investigated. Six different sodium selenite (Na2SeO3) solutions with concentrations of 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, and 4 mg/L were added in MRS broth for 24 h. Then, the obtained bacterial pellets were weighed. The contents of total selenium and selenium species in the bacterial pellets were measured via optimized enzymatic hydrolysis and HPLC-ICP-MS. The maximum dried P. acidilactici biomass of 1.44 g/L was achieved by utilizing 1 mg/L Na2SeO3. By increasing sodium selenite concentrations, total selenium contents were significantly increased from 0.14 to 1.45 mg/g dry weight (p < 0.05). The findings indicated that selenium was favorably incorporated into the bacteria protein fraction and mainly formed selenocysteine. Therefore, selenium-enriched lactic acid bacterium P. acidilactici can deliver a less-toxic, more bioavailable selenium source for human and animal nutrition. 相似文献

With the goal of improving the physico-chemical performance of fish gelatin-based films, composite films were prepared with increasing concentrations of chitosan (Ch) (100G:0Ch, 80G:20Ch, 70G:30Ch, 60G:40Ch and 0G:100Ch, gelatin:Ch), and some of their main physical and functional properties were characterised. The results indicated that the addition of Ch caused significant increase (p < 0.05) in the tensile strength (TS) and elastic modulus, leading to stronger films as compared with gelatin film, but significantly (p < 0.05) decreased the elongation at break. Ch drastically reduced the water vapour permeability (WVP) and solubility of gelatin films, as this decline for the blend film with a 60:40 ratio has been of about 50% (p < 0.05). The light barrier measurements present low values of transparency at 600 nm of the gelatin–chitosan films, indicating that films are very transparent while they have excellent barrier properties against UV light. The structural properties investigated by FTIR and DSC showed a clear interaction between fish gelatin and Ch, forming a new material with enhanced mechanical properties. 相似文献

Bioactivities (including antioxidative and antiproliferative properties) of cuttlefish mantle protein hydrolysates (CPH) with the degree of hydrolysis (DH) of 20.9, 25.5, 30.6, 35.3 and 40.6% (shortened as 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40%, respectively) prepared using alcalase were evaluated. The results indicated that the CPH with 20, 30 and 40% DH showed the greatest activity against DPPH radical scavenging [5.2 µmol TE (torolox equivalent)/g sample], reducing power (0.4 absorbance at 700 nm) and total antioxidant capacity (0.6 mg ascorbic acid equivalent/g sample), which were 2.5, 6.5 and 13.8 times higher than the cuttlefish mantle protein isolate (CPI), respectively. The CPH with the DH of 20% had the highest effect against MDA-231 and T47D cancer cell lines with growth inhibition of 78.2 and 66.2%, which were 6.5 and 6 times higher activities compared to the CPI, respectively. The objective of this study was to develop calibration models for prediction of moisture content and textural characteristics (fracture force, hardness, apparent modulus of elasticity and compressive energy) of pistachio kernels roasted in different conditions (temperatures 90, 120 and 150 °C; times 20, 35 and 50 min and air velocities 0.5, 1.5 and 2.5 m/s) using Vis/NIR hyperspectral imaging and multivariate analysis. The effects of different pre-processing methods and spectral treatments such as normalization [multiplicative scatter correction (MSC), standard normal variate transformation (SNV)], smoothing (median filter, Savitzky–Golay and Wavelet) and differentiation (first derivative, D1 and second derivative, D2) on the obtained data were investigated. The prediction models were developed by partial least square regression (PLSR) and artificial neural network (ANN). The results indicated that ANN models have higher potential to predict moisture content and textural characteristics of roasted pistachio kernels comparing to PLSR models. High correlation was observed between reflectance data and fracture force (R2?=?0.957 and RMSEP?=?3.386) using MSC, Savitzky–Golay and D1, compressive energy (R2?=?0.907 and RMSEP?=?15.757) using the combination of MSC, Wavelet and D1, moisture content (R2?=?0.907 and RMSEP?=?0.179) and apparent modulus of elasticity (R2?=?0.921 and RMSEP?=?2.366) employing combination of SNV, Wavelet and D1, respectively. Moreover, Vis–NIR data correlated well with hardness (R2?=?0.876 and RMSEP?=?5.216) using SNV, Wavelet and D2. Extraction of ferulic acid from sugar beet pulp was carried out using three extraction solvents, sodium hydroxide (0.5, 1, 2 M), methanol and their mixture (alkaline methanolic solvent). The Ferulic acid extracted by each solvent was identified and quantified by HPLC method and the effects of solvent type, concentration and reaction time on ferulic acid solubilisation were assessed. There were differences in the contents of products extracted in the experiment conditions. The minimum amount of ferulic acid was obtained from methanolic extract while the highest concentrations (957.4 mg/L ferulic acid) were obtained employing the highest NaOH concentration (2 M), and reaction time (12 h), so phenolic compounds are better released with alkaline hydrolysis than in methanol conditions. Finally a simple procedure for the purification of ferulic acid from the alkaline extracts is presented and evaluated by FT-IR spectrum. 相似文献

This paper describes the microwave characterization and wettability of a uniform and light magnetic nanofibers web. Iron oxide nanoparticles/recycled poly (ethylene terephthalate) nanofibers web (Fe3O4 NPs/RPET NFs web) were fabricated from bath-sonication solution via electrospinning method. For environmental conservation and economic reasons, RPET instead of virgin material was used. After synthesizing magnetic Fe3O4 NPs with an average diameter of 35?nm by precipitation method using iron sulfate and sodium hydroxide, Fe3O4 NPs/RPET NFs web was made. The main objective of this work is to show how Fe3O4 NPs are able to significantly modify electromagnetic properties at X-band frequencies. Microwave characterization is based on the microwave scattering parameters measured in the X-band (8–12?GHz). Various characterization methods, including field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), have been used to study morphologies, crystalline structure, magnetic, and wettability properties of NFs web. The saturation magnetization of the Fe3O4 NPs/RPET NFs web at a concentration of 5% was 2.79?emu/g. The mathematical model was estimated for magnetization, diameter and concentration by MathWorks Model Predictive Control Toolbax Software. The wettability, reflection coefficient, absorption coefficient, and EMI shielding of Fe3O4 NPs/RPET NFs web have been improved compared to RPET NFs web. 相似文献
