The phonon bands associated with the inner-shell electronic absorption lines of Eu atoms have been studied in bulk liquid helium in the temperature range between 1.6 and 3.1 K. Profiles of the phonon bands show the remarkable temperature dependence from a broad peak at 1.6 K to a monotonic decrease of the intensity by energy at higher temperatures. Two phonon bands, measured at about 1.9 K for two different lines with different interaction energies with the liquid, are found to show identical profiles, suggesting that the profiles depend only on the temperature. The broad peak at 1.6 K has been interpreted as temperature-broadened roton/maxon peaks, while the monotonically decreasing profiles have not been well understood yet.  相似文献

Matrix metalloproteinases have been shown to be important in tumour invasion and metastasis, and the use of matrix metalloproteinase inhibitors in animal models has suggested that these agents may be useful in the control of malignant disease. This article reports the results of an early clinical trial of batimastat, one of the first generation of metalloproteinase inhibitors, in patients with malignant ascites. The drug was well absorbed via the intraperitoneal route and associated with few side-effects. Furthermore, a response to treatment was seen in about half the evaluable patients with advanced malignant disease. The results suggest that further research on the use of matrix metalloproteinase inhibitors in patients with malignant disease is worthwhile.  相似文献

Centrifugal pumps are generally employed as nonpulsatile blood flow pumps; however, these pumps can produce pulsatile flow by periodically alternating the impeller rotation speed. This study investigates blood trauma due to the effect of pulse frequency and various ranges of pump speed. The hemolysis tests were conducted using the Gyro C1E3 pump. The study was divided into the following categories: Group 1 in a nonpulsatile mode; Group 2 operated at 40 bpm with 30% of speed variance; Group 3, 60 bpm with 30% of speed variance; Group 4, 40 bpm with 70% of speed variance; and Group 5, 60 bpm with 70% of speed variance. A flow rate of 3 L/min and a total pressure head of 200 mm Hg were employed in all groups to simulate a percutaneous cardiopulmonary support condition. There were no significant differences in the hemolysis levels among Groups 1, 2, and 3. However, Groups 4 and 5 exhibited a significantly higher hemolysis rate compared to the other groups. These results indicate that a high rate of speed variance increases hemolysis; however, a range of less than 30% does not affect hemolysis. The pulse rate has no significant effect on hemolysis. In conclusion, the higher speed variance increases the hemolysis level when a pulsatile mode is applied with a centrifugal pump at the given test conditions. However, a speed variance of less than 30% or a pulse rate of less than 60 bpm does not affect hemolysis.  相似文献

High efficient large area thin film polycrystalline Si solar cell based on a silicon on insulator (SOI) structure prepared by zone-melting recrystallization (ZMR) is reported. Fabrication process of the via-hole etching for the separation of thin films (VEST) is newly developed. It is found that phosphorus treatment and back surface field (BSF) are quite effective for the VEST structure and the ZMR thin film polycrystalline silicon. The conversion efficiency as high as 16.0% for a practical size (10 cm×10 cm) is achieved. This is the highest for large area thin film polycrystalline Si solar cells ever reported.  相似文献

A study was carried out to see if the potential of renewable energy sources other than hy droelectric power, such as wind, photovoltaic, solar thermal, biomass and waste energy sources, can meet the current energy consumption in Yakushima. The current electricity consumption can be covered by wind and photovoltaic energy sources. The total potential of wind and photovoltaic energy sources is 5.4 times as much as the current electricity consumption. LP gas and kerosene can be replaced by solar thermal and biogas energy. The potential of plant biomass and municipal waste is not sufficient (approximately one third) to cover the rest of the fossil fuels (gasoline, diesel oil and heavy oil). Also, plant biomass and municipal waste must be converted into fluid form. This shortage can be covered by the po tential of wind and photovoltaic energy sources. We also investigated the possibility of tourism expansion using the potential of wind and photovoltaic energy sources. Taking into account three types of capacity (energy, accommodation and transportation), Yakushima can accept approximately four times as many tourists as the current number of tourists.  相似文献

Redox properties of CeO2 and Pt-Rh/CeO2 were studied by temporal analysis of products (TAP) method using alternative pulses of CO and O2. A portion of pulsed CO was oxidized to CO2 and a portion of CO was adsorbed on the surface. Pulsing 18O2 onto the catalyst which has surface species derived from CO, evolved CO2 contained no 18O suggesting that the surface species will be carbonate ions.  相似文献

Quite a substantial number of human disorders have been associated with a primary or a secondary impairment of one or several of the dopaminergic pathways. Among disorders associated with a primary impairment of dopaminergic transmission are Parkinson's disease, striatonigral degeneration, progressive supranuclear palsy, and possibly schizophrenia. Diseases of secondary dopamine dysfunction are chiefly represented by Huntington's disease in which dopaminergic transmission is being interrupted by progressive loss of the striatal neurons bearing the postsynaptic D1- and D2-dopamine receptors. Central dopaminergic systems have anatomical as well as organizational properties that render them unique by comparison to other neurotransmission systems, making them able to play a pivotal role in the modulation of various important brain functions such as locomotor activity, attention, and some cognitive abilities. These properties of dopamine neurons have obviously several implications in the clinical expression of human disorders involving dopamine neuron dysfunction. In addition, they can greatly influence the clinical/behavioral consequences of experimental lesions in animal models of dopamine dysfunctions.  相似文献

Liquid-solid phase de-t-butylation of p-t-butylphenols was carried out over original and dealuminated zeolites to determine the effect of catalyst pore size and acidity on the reaction rate and catalyst fouling rate. The de-t-butylation rate over the original zeolites was mainly dependent upon their micro pore sizes. Although the dealumination by acid leaching decreased strong acid sites, the de-t-butylation rate over dealuminated HY zeolite was higher than that on the original zeolite. The present dealumination is a useful method to prepare an acid catalyst for de-t-butylation in a liquid-solid system.  相似文献

A method has been developed for the rapid molecular mass determination and structural elucidation of mixtures of oligosaccharides derived from plant cell walls. The oligosaccharides were fractionated using gel permeation chromatography and 'analytical' high-performance anion-exchange chromatography (HPAEC), neutralized, dried and the mixtures of eluent salt and oligosaccharides were per-O-acetylated directly. The derivatized oligosaccharides were isolated by dissolution in dichloromethane and the salts were removed by aqueous partitioning. The per-O-acetylated oligosaccharides were analysed using electrospray (ES) and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MS). Exploiting the fact that acid-catalysed per-O-acetylation of oligosaccharides can be achieved even under the extremely salty conditions that are found in post-column neutralized HPAEC fractions, and combining this derivatization step with off-line ESMS, allow rapid screening for molecular mass and thus yield information on the composition of the various oligosaccharides in these complex mixtures. Subsequent per-O-methylation of the per-O-acetylated, salt-free fractions and collision-induced dissociation tandem mass spectrometric analysis was used for additional sequence and branching determination of the oligosaccharides.  相似文献
