We present a clustering technique addressing redundancy for bounded-distance clusters, which means being able to determine the minimum number of cluster-heads per node, and the maximum distance from nodes to their cluster-heads. This problem is similar to computing a (kr)-dominating set, (kr)-DS, of the network. (kr)-DS is defined as the problem of selecting a minimum cardinality vertex set D of the network such that every vertex u not in D is at a distance smaller than or equal to r from at least k vertices in D. In mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), clusters should be computed distributively, because the topology may change frequently. We present the first centralized and distributed solutions to the (kr)-DS problem for arbitrary topologies. The centralized algorithm computes a (k · ln Δ)-approximation, where Δ is the largest cardinality among all r-hop neighborhoods in the network. The distributed approach is extended for clustering applications, while the centralized is used as a lower bound for comparison purposes. Extensive simulations are used to compare the distributed solution with the centralized one. As a case study, we propose a novel multi-core multicast protocol that applies the distributed solution for the election of cores. The new protocol is compared against PUMA, one of the best performing multicast protocols for MANETS. Simulation results show that the new protocol outperforms PUMA on the context of static networks.  相似文献

Smart metering systems have become widespread around the world. RF mesh communication systems have contributed to the creation of smarter and more reliable power systems. This paper presents an algorithm for positioning GPRS concentrators to attain delay constraints for a ZigBee‐based mesh network. The proposed algorithm determines the number and placement of concentrators using integer linear programming and a queueing model for the given mesh network. The solutions given by the proposed algorithm are validated by verifying the communication network performance through simulations.  相似文献

This paper proposes two space-frequency schemes with a multi-user pre-filtering technique for downlink (DL) multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems. We consider the use of antenna arrays at the base station (BS) and a single antenna at the mobile terminal (MT) and derive the proposed multi-user pre-filtering technique that modulates the transmitted signal to eliminate the effects of multiple access interference (MAI) and channel distortions at the mobile terminals, while maintaining low MT complexity. Two types of detectors are considered at the MT: simple despreading and single user equalizers. The performances of the proposed schemes are compared to those of other transmit signal design approaches that have been recently proposed for DL MC-CDMA, considering both typical indoor and pedestrian scenarios, and channel coding based on UMTS specifications.  相似文献

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by several alterations, including disorganized brain cytoarchitecture and excitatory/inhibitory (E/I) imbalance. We aimed to analyze aspects associated with the inhibitory components in ASD, using bioinformatics to develop notions about embryonic life and tissue analysis for postnatal life. We analyzed microarray and RNAseq datasets of embryos from different ASD models, demonstrating that regions involved in neuronal development are affected. We evaluated the effect of prenatal treatment with resveratrol (RSV) on the neuronal organization and quantity of parvalbumin-positive (PV+), somatostatin-positive (SOM+), and calbindin-positive (CB+) GABAergic interneurons, besides the levels of synaptic proteins and GABA receptors in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and hippocampus (HC) of the ASD model induced by valproic acid (VPA). VPA increased the total number of neurons in the mPFC, while it reduced the number of SOM+ neurons, as well as the proportion of SOM+, PV+, and CB+ neurons (subregion-specific manner), with preventive effects of RSV. In summary, metabolic alterations or gene expression impairments could be induced by VPA, leading to extensive damage in the late developmental stages. By contrast, due to its antioxidant, neuroprotective, and opposite action on histone properties, RSV may avoid damages induced by VPA.  相似文献

Phenylketonuria (PKU) is a rare autosomal recessive inborn error of metabolism where the mainstay of treatment is a Phe restricted diet consisting of a combination of limited amounts of natural protein with supplementation of Phe-free or low-Phe protein substitutes and special low protein foods. Suboptimal outcomes may be related to the different absorption kinetics of free AAs, which have lower biological efficacy than natural proteins. Physiomimic TechnologyTM is a technology engineered to prolong AA (AA-PT) release allowing physiological absorption and masking the odor and taste of free AAs. The aim of these studies was to assess the impact of AA-PT formulation on selected functional and metabolic parameters both in acute and long-term experimental studies. Adult rats in fasting conditions were randomized in different groups and treated by oral gavage. Acute AA-PT administration resulted in significantly lower BUN at 90 min versus baseline. Both BUN and glycemia were modulated in the same direction as intact casein protein. Long-term treatment with AA-PT significantly reduces the protein expression of the muscle degradation marker Bnip3L (−46%) while significantly increasing the proliferation of market myostatin (+58%). Animals dosed for 15 days with AA-PT had significantly stronger grip strength (+30%) versus baseline. In conclusion, the results suggest that the AA-PT formulation may have beneficial effects on both AA oxidation and catabolism with a direct impact on muscle as well as on other metabolic pathways.  相似文献

Potassium tantalate (KTaO3 - KT) ceramics with controlled initial K/Ta ratio = 1, 1.02 and 1.05 were synthesised by solid-state reaction. Crystal structure and microstructure of the sintered ceramics were examined by XRD and SEM/EDS, respectively. Their dielectric properties were then studied as a function of the temperature over the radio frequency range. Ceramics with K/Ta ratio = 1 exhibits potassium-poor secondary phases, in contrast to ceramics with initial K/Ta ratio = 1.05, where no secondary phases are detected. Moreover, the grain size increases dramatically with K/Ta ratio >1. The quantum paraelectric behaviour of KT ceramics is weakly affected by the variation of K/Ta ratio and their dielectric response is well described by Barrett's equation. Though, no anomaly is induced in the dielectric permittivity by potassium excess, it yields an increase of its lowest temperature magnitude up to ∼4000, which is to the best of our knowledge, the highest value ever reported for KT ceramics.  相似文献

The reaction of methanol steam reforming was studied in a carbon membrane reactor over a commercial CuO/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst (Süd-Chemie, G66 MR). Carbon molecular sieve membranes supplied by Carbon Membranes Ltd. were tested at 150 °C and 200 °C. The carbon membrane reactor was operated at atmospheric pressure and with vacuum at the permeate side, at 200 °C. High methanol conversion and hydrogen recovery were obtained with low carbon monoxide permeate concentrations. A sweep gas configuration was simulated with a one-dimensional model. The experimental mixed-gas permeance values at 200 °C were used in a mathematical model that showed a good agreement with the experimental data. The advantages of using water as sweep gas were investigated in what concerns methanol conversion and hydrogen recovery. The concentration of carbon monoxide at the permeate side was under 20 ppm in all simulation runs. These results indicate that the permeate stream can be used to feed a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell.  相似文献

The present research deals with the production and characterization of geopolymers prepared by mixing metakaolin with a steel slag from the production of chromium-manganese steel, a commercial sodium silicate solution and a sodium hydroxide solution. Different specimens were prepared by mixing metakaolin with different proportions of steel slag (20, 40, 60, 80 wt%) characterized by different maximum particle size. Specimens containing just metakaolin and steel slag alone were also prepared for comparison. All specimens have been characterized regarding their compressive strength, specific surface area, water absorption and microstructure. It has been observed that the use of fine steel slag powders leads to increases the performances and that the specimens containing 40 wt% steel slag and 60 wt% metakaolin revealed the best overall behaviour.  相似文献

In this work we present the thermal characterization of the full scope of polyhydroxyalcanoate and poly(lactic acid) blends obtain by injection molding. Blends of polyhydroxyalcanoate and poly(lactic acid) (PHA/PLA) were prepared in different compositions ranging from 0–100% in steps of 10%. The blends were injection molded and then characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD). The increment of PHA fraction increased the degree of crystallinity of the blend and the miscibility of the base polymers as verified by the Fox model. The WAXD analysis indicates that the presence of PHA hindered the PLA crystallization. The crystallization evolution trough PHA weight fraction (wf) shows a phase inversion around 50-60%. SEM analyses confirmed that the miscibility of PHA/PLA blends increased with the incorporation of PHA and became total for values of PHA higher that 50%.  相似文献
