Recent developments focusing on novel hydrogen storage media have helped to benchmark nanostructured carbon materials as one of the ongoing strategic research areas in science and technology. In particular, certain microporous carbon powders, carbon nanomaterials, and specifically carbon nanotubes stand to deliver unparalleled performance as the next generation of base materials for storing hydrogen. Accordingly, the main goal of this report is to overview the challenges, distinguishing traits, and apparent contradictions of carbon-based hydrogen storage technologies and to emphasize recently developed nanostructured carbon materials that show potential to store hydrogen by physisorption and/or chemisorption mechanisms. Specifically touched upon are newer material preparation methods as well as experimental and theoretical attempts to elucidate, improve or predict hydrogen storage capacities, sorption–desorption kinetics, microscopic uptake mechanisms and temperature–pressure–loading interrelations in nanostructured carbons, particularly microporous powders and carbon nanotubes. 相似文献

A new polymerizable nonionic surfactant with reactive vinyl groups has been synthesized from N‐methylol acrylamide using a two‐step procedure. The structure of the surfactant molecule was characterized by Fourier transform infrared, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectroscopy. The surface active properties alongside its self‐assembly properties were investigated by surface tension, electrical conductivity, and fluorescence spectroscopy measurements. As compared with other nonionic surfactants, this study showed that this polymerizable surfactant possesses slightly a higher critical micelle concentration (CMC) value and the surface tension value at CMC. The obtained CMC values were compatible among measurements, ca. 0.02–0.038 M. The evidence of micelle formation also provided by the zeta potential measurements and the obtained zeta potential values showed that the polymerizable surfactant solutions had limited stability. The hydrolysis stability and solubility of the polymerizable surfactant were also investigated. The solubility results have shown that it was soluble in polar solvents while insoluble in nonpolar solvents both at room temperature and 40 °C. The acidic and basic hydrolysis of the surfactant increased as the temperature increased and the hydrolysis stability was 180 min (basic medium) and 55 min (acidic medium) at 80 °C. 相似文献

In this study, we investigated whether wild-thyme (Thymus serpyllum) hydrosol had a preserving effect against spoilage of freshwater fish. Sensorial characteristics, chemical freshness indicator contents, and microbial counts (total aerobes, psychrotrophics, Enterobacteriaceae, fecal coliform bacteria, Aeromonas spp., and Pseudomonas spp.) of whole ungutted and gutted Transcaucasian barb (Capoeta capoeta capoeta Guldenstaedt, 1772) stored on ice produced from wild-thyme hydrosol and tap water at 4 degrees C for 20 days were compared. The results did not reveal any significant (P > 0.05) differences in the microbial counts, sensorial characteristics, pH, and total volatile basic nitrogen values between gutted and ungutted groups. Sensory evaluation and microbiological and chemical analyses indicated that the storage of the fish on ice produced from wild-thyme hydrosol had a significant increase in shelf life by at least 15 to 20 days. 相似文献

Pressureless sintering of silicon nitride requires addition of sintering agents. The main part of this study was done in order to homogenize the distribution of sintering agents, in this case Y2 O3 , in a silicon nitride matrix. Colloidal 10-nm Y2 O3 Particles were electrostatically adsorbed on Si3 N4 particle surfaces. The adsorption was studied by X-ray fluorescence analysis and electrophoretic measurements. Addition of Y2 O3 sol to a Si3 N4 suspension decreased the viscosity of the suspension. The slip casting properties of Si3 N4 suspensions with added Y2 O3 sol were examined, and the homogeneity of Y2 O3 in the green compacts was compared with conventionally prepared samples. An improved microstructural homogeneity was obtained when Y2 O3 sol particles were adsorbed on the Si3 N4 particle surfaces. 相似文献

There are twelve operating VVER-440/213 reactors in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. The plant owners have carried out extensive safety enhancement programmes, which have included measures to improve prevention, mitigation and control of design basis accidents. Recently, there have been a number of projects to study the Severe Accident Management aspects of these plants. The plant owners have also initiated Plant Life Management programmes. The objective of the VERSAFE Concerted Action is to create a network of the VVER-440/213 plant owners and operators, which aims at definition of the further research needs of severe accidents and plant ageing from the utilities&#x2019; viewpoint. The starting point is to formulate a general approach to severe accident management and plant life management and then proceed to define the needs for the additional information expected from the safety research. The role of national research institutes and organisations of the partner countries is of crucial importance in performing such research and, thus, creating and maintaining the expertise on the national level. The successful completion of the project will assist in establishing well-defined research projects that are oriented to the needs of the end-users and provide information that can be used to facilitate and support the negotiations of the EU applicant countries operating VVER-440 reactors. 相似文献

Western blot analysis (immunoblotting) of cell surface-associated proteins from Helicobacter pylori confirmed our previous findings that binding of human IgG is a common property (among H. pylori strains). Purification of the IgG-binding proteins (IGBP) was achieved by two purification steps, affinity chromatography on IgG-Sepharose and nickel chelate affinity chromatography. SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting analysis revealed a 60 kDa protein with affinity for peroxidase labeled human IgG. Solid phase binding assays showed that IgG binds to an immobilized protein (IGBP). The 60 kDa IGBP binds human IgG1, IgG3 and IgM. Binding could be inhibited by the kappa chain of the human IgG, but not with its Fc fragment, nor with IgA or IgM. In addition, rabbit polyclonal antibodies raised against the 60 kDa IGBP blocked IgG binding. Monoclonal antibodies, specific to the Hsp60 heat shock protein of H. pylori recognized the 60 kDa IGBP as revealed by immunoblotting analysis, both in crude preparations and in the purified fractions. 相似文献

One-hundred-four cases of stones in the upper urinary tract treated by open surgery during 1979 to 1982 at the Tikur Anbessa Hospital have been retrospectively reviewed. Among the patients, 76.5% were between the age of 20 and 40 years and there was a predominance of men with a male to female ratio of 3.7:1. More than 50% of patients presented with a history of illness from one to five years and most of the presenting symptoms and signs were the same as reported by others. Fourteen of the 73 patients tested (19%) had positive urine culture. Conservative operations of pyelolithotomy and ureterolithtomy were made in 71.2% of the patients. Nephrolithotomy was made in 14.3%, partial nephrectomy in 3.8% and nephrectomy in 8.7%. Of the patients 92.3% had an uneventful postoperative course. Mortality was 1.9% and occurred in patients with stone anuria. Chemical analysis of stones from 25 patients showed calciumoxalate in 21, and calciumoxalate with additional phosphate in three patients. One patient had pure uric acid stone. 相似文献

Three ferromagnetic shape-memory alloys with the chemical compositions of Ni53Mn25Ga22, Ni48Mn30Ga22, and Ni48Mn25Ga22Co5 were prepared by the induction-melting and hot-forging process. The crystal structures were investigated by the neutron powder
diffraction technique, showing that Ni53Mn25Ga22 and Ni48Mn25Ga22Co5 have a tetragonal, 14/mmm martensitic structure at room temperature, while Ni48Mn30Ga22 has a cubic, L21 austenitic structure at room temperature. The development of textures in the hot-forged samples shows the in-plane plastic
flow anisotropy from the measured pole figures by means of the neutron diffraction technique. Significant texture changes
were observed for the Ni48Mn25Ga22Co5 alloy after room temperature deformation, which is due to the deformation-induced rearrangements of martensitic variants.
An excellent shape-memory effect (SME) with a recovery ratio of 74 pct was reported in this Ni48Mn25Ga22Co5 polycrystalline alloy after annealing above the martensitic transformation temperature, and the &#8220;shape-memory&#8221; influence
