In this work, a systematic study and optimization on direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) of a cBN reinforced Ti6Al4V metal matrix composite (MMC) has been carried out using the response surface methodology (RSM). Variable process parameters such as volume % of cBN (5–15%), laser power (50–60?W), scanning speed (3500–4500?mm/min), and constant parameters such as laser spot diameter (0.2?mm), hatching gap (0.2?mm), and layer thickness (0.4) were considered for the experiments. The RSM was employed to establish a regression equation to predict different output parameters of the sintered samples such as the wear rate, relative density, and microhardness. Based on the developed model, the influence of process parameters on the wear rate, density, and microhardness were accomplished with optimized results. Hence, the result, thus, obtained showed the maximum hardness and density of 519 HV0.2 and 4.23?g/cm3, respectively, and the minimum wear of 26.49?µm in a testing time duration of 10 minutes. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis of the fabricated MMC confirms the presence of different phases such as cBN, AlN, TiN, TiB2, and TiO2 as a consequence of a series of chemical reactions among cBN and different elements of Ti6Al4V in an argon atmosphere.  相似文献

Biodiesel and oxyhydrogen (HHO) gas have shown promising results in improving engine performance and emissions. In this work, the effects of HHO gas and 5% biodiesel blends (B5) and their combined use in a 315 cc diesel engine have been analyzed. Biodiesel is produced by base catalyzed transesterification and cleaned by emulsification. Its calculated cetane index (CCI) was 61.4. HHO gas is produced from electrolysis of concentrated potassium hydroxide solution. The use of 5% biodiesel blend resulted in a significant rise of 9.4% in the brake thermal efficiency (BTE) and a maximum reduction of 8.19% in the brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC). HHO enrichment of diesel and biodiesel at 2.81 L/min through the intake manifold improved the torque and power by an average of over 3%. HHO addition also improved the BTE of diesel by a maximum of 3.67%. The combination of high CCI biodiesel fuel and HHO creates a mixture that has shortened the ignition delay (ID) to the point that adverse effects were observed due to the premature combustion as shown by the average decrease in the BTE of 2.97% compared to B5. Thus, B5, on its own, is found to be the optimum fuel under these conditions.  相似文献

New requirements in communication technologies make it imperative to rehash conventional features such as reconfigurable antennas to adapt with the future adaptability advancements. This paper presents a comprehensive review of reconfigurable antennas, specifically in terms of radiation patterns for adaptation in the upcoming Fifth Generation (5G) New Radio frequency bands. They represent the key of antenna technology for materializing a high rate transmission, increased spectral and energy efficiency, reduced interference, and improved the beam steering and beam shaping, thereby land a great promise for planar antennas to boost the mid-band 5G. This review begins with an overview of the underlying principals in reconfiguring radiation patterns, followed by the presentations of the implemented innovative antenna topologies to suit particular advanced features. The various adaptation techniques of radiation pattern reconfigurable planar antennas and the understanding of its antenna design approaches has been investigated for its radiation pattern enhancement. A variety of design configurations have also been critically studied for their compatibilities to be operated in the mid-band communication systems. The review provides new insights on pattern reconfigurable antenna where such antennas are categorized as beam steering antenna and beam shaping antennas where the operation modes and purposes are clearly investigated. The review also revealed that for mid-band 5G communication, the commonly used electronic switching such as PIN diodes have sufficient isolation loss to provide the required beam performance.  相似文献

The demand for biodegradable materials is on the rise because humanity is now more concerned about a sustainable lifestyle than ever before. In this regard, we present solution casting synthesized novel biopolymer blended films of poly(butylene succinate)/cyclic olefin copolymer (PBS/COC) for packaging applications. These films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared microscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), universal tensile testing (ASTM D882 standard), and antibacterial Disc diffusion tests using gram-negative Escherichia coli (E.coli) and gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus) bacteria. The XRD and FTIR revealed the type of bonding to be physical in-between the constituent polymers; ensuring the biodegradable nature of their blends, while the thickness of films was found to be <100 μm. The SEM, tensile, and antibacterial testing concluded that 30%PBS with 70%COC by weight blending is the best composition; showing a compact/pin-holes free morphology, the highest strength of 91 MPa, and contact inhibition with E.coli and S.aureus bacteria.  相似文献
