Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) and endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) are widely accepted procedures for cholecysto-choledocholithiasis in adults. However, their use in infants has not been reported. An 8-month-old girl presented with high fever and obstructive jaundice. Ultrasound scan showed acute cholecystitis with stones in the bile duct. After 2-week-long antibiotic therapy the acute cholecystitis and hepatic impairment resolved. An endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) confirmed choledocholithiasis and cholecystolithiasis. Risk factors for the development of biliary calculi were not detected. One month after the restoration of her liver function, she underwent EST using a side-viewing endoscope with a small sphincterotome. A common bile duct stone was extracted using a basket catheter. LC was then carried out. The time interval between the EST and LC was 34 days. No complications have been noted for 6 months.  相似文献

We recently treated a patient with intractable ulcerative colitis complicated with Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia in whom sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim caused pneumonitis. The pneumonitis was difficult to differentiate from worsening of the infection or the appearance of another opportunistic infection. The patient's history of sulfasalazine (sulfonamide)-induced pneumonitis made diagnosis possible. The CD4/CD8 ratio of lymphocyte subsets in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid was decreased at the diagnosis of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia and this ratio had increased when drug-induced pneumonitis was diagnosed. Topical administration of beclomethasone dipropionate by enema was a safe and effective for the treatment of such a compromised patient with active colitis.  相似文献

We investigated the effect of two isomers of retinoic acid (RA), all-trans RA and 9-cis RA, on the proliferation of Y79 human retinoblastoma cells. The two isomers inhibited the cell proliferation in a concentration-dependent manner. The IC50 for this inhibition by all-trans RA and 9-cis RA was 1.50 and 0.15 microM, respectively. The inhibitory effect of 9-cis RA on Y79 cell growth was observed within 24 hr, thereafter the cell number was gradually decreased. In contrast, no inhibition by all-trans RA of Y79 cell growth was observed within 24 hr, thereafter the cell number was slightly increased. In these cases, the cell viability at 4 days after the addition of 9-cis RA and all-trans RA was more than 90% and 95%, respectively. These results indicate that the two RA inhibit the proliferation of Y79 human retinoblastoma cells without inducing the cell death and that the effect of 9-cis RA on the inhibition of Y79 cell growth is much greater than that of all-trans RA.  相似文献

The effects of Ni(II) in a synthetic wastewater on the activity of activated sludge microorganisms and sequencing batch reactor (SBR) treatment process were investigated. Two parallel lab-scale SBR systems were operated. One was used as a control unit, while the other received Ni(II) concentrations equal to 5 and 10 mg/l. The SBR systems were operated with FILL, REACT, SETTLE, DRAW and IDLE modes in the time ratio of 0.5:3.5:1.0:0.75:0.25 for a cycle time of 6 h. The addition of Ni(II) into SBR system caused drastically dropped in TOC removal rate (k) and specific oxygen uptake rate (SOUR) by activated sludge microorganisms due to the inhibitory effects of Ni(II) on the bioactivity of microorganisms. The addition of 5 mg/l Ni(II) caused a slight reduction in TOC removal efficiency, whereas 10 mg/l Ni(II) addition significantly affected the SBR performance in terms of suspended solids and TOC removal efficiency. Termination of Ni(II) addition led to almost full recovery of the bioactivity in microorganisms as shown in the increase of specific oxygen uptake rate (SOUR) and SBR treatment performance.  相似文献

Lysobacter sp. IB-9374, which was isolated from soil as a high lysyl endopeptidase-producing strain (Chohnanet al., FEMS Microbiol. Lett., 213, 13-20, 2002), was found to produce a beta-lytic protease capable of lysing gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Microccocuseus, and Bacillus subtilis. The Lysobacter strain secreted the beta-lytic protease into the culture medium at a 2.4-fold higher level than Achromobacter lyticus. The enzyme was highly purified through a series of six steps with a high yield. The enzyme was strongly inhibited by tetraethylene-pentamine and 1,10-phenanthroline. The purified enzyme lysed more efficiently almost all the gram-positive bacteria tested than lysozyme, lysostaphin, and mutanolysin. The enzyme was very similar to Achromobacter beta-lytic protease containing one zinc atom in terms of amino acid composition and N-terminal sequence. The nucleotide sequence revealed that the mature enzyme was composed of 179 amino acid residues with additional 198 amino acids at the amino-terminal end of the enzyme. The deduced amino acid sequence of the mature enzyme coincided with that of the Achromobacter enzyme, although the prepro-region showed a 41% sequence identity with the counterpart. These results indicate that Lysobacter sp. is a useful strain for an efficient large-scale preparation of beta-lytic protease capable of lysing bacteria.  相似文献

In order to determine the superconducting gap structure of the borocarbide superconductor YNi2B2C, we have measured the angular variation of the c-axis thermal conductivity zz in magnetic field rotated within the ab-planes. A clear fourfold symmetry with narrow cusps was observed in the angular variation of zz . These results provide a strong evidence that the gap function has point nodes which are located along the a- and b-axes of the crystal.  相似文献

A new laser ablation technique combined with a chemical evaporation reaction has been developed for elemental ratio analysis of solid samples using an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS). Using a chemically assisted laser ablation (CIA) technique developed in this study, analytical repeatability of the elemental ratio measurement was successively improved. To evaluate the reliability of the CLA-ICPMS technique, Pb/U isotopic ratios were determined for zircon samples that have previously been analyzed by other techniques. Conventional laser ablation for Pb/U shows a serious elemental fractionation during ablation mainly due to the large difference in elemental volatility between Pb and U. In the case of Pb/U ratio measurement, a Freon R-134a gas (1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane) was introduced into the laser cell as a fluorination reactant. The Freon gas introduced into the laser cell reacts with the ablated sample U, and refractory U compounds are converted to a volatile U fluoride compound (UF6) under the high-temperature condition at the ablation site. This avoids the redeposition of U around the ablation pits. Although not all the U is reacted with Freon, formation of volatile UF compounds improves the transmission efficiency of U. Typical precision of the 206Pb/238U ratio measurement is 3-5% (2sigma) for NIST SRM 610 and Nancy 91500 zircon standard, and the U-Pb age data obtained here show good agreement within analytical uncertainties with the previously reported values. Since the observed Pb/U ratio for solid samples is relatively insensitive to laser power and ablation time, optimization of ablation conditions or acquisition parameters no longer needs to be performed on a sample-to-sample basis.  相似文献

The contents of the main pigments and other ingredients in commercial lac color products were determined by HPLC using an RP-18 column with 0.1 mol/L citric acid buffer solution-methanol (16:5) as the mobile phase, and a photodiode array (PDA) detector set at 280 nm and 490 nm. The main pigments were confirmed by PDA and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry. Laccaic acids A, B, C and E were detected in all lac color products, and the ratio of content of laccaic acid A in all products was over 50%. The total contents of laccaic acids A, B and C in lac color food additive products and reagent products were 775-858, 797 and 779 g/kg, respectively. As for the contents of ingredients except pigments in commercial food additive products, the maximum moisture content was about 10%, and ether-soluble substances amounted to 0.5-3.6%.  相似文献
