The effect of support type on synthesis gas production using Co‐based catalysts supported over TiO2‐P25, Al2O3, SiO2, and CeO2 was investigated. The catalysts were prepared by the incipient wet impregnation method and characterized by various techniques for comparison. Experiments were performed in a micro tubular reactor. The results revealed that all Co‐supported catalysts produced synthesis gas ratios of 1 and below and, thus, proved to be well‐suited for methanol and Fischer‐Tropsch syntheses. Co catalysts supported over TiO2‐P25 and Al2O3 provided better synthesis gas ratios and stability performances. The promotion of a Co/TiO2‐P25 catalyst with Ce had a substantial influence on its catalytic activity and the amount of carbon deposit. A Ce‐promoted catalyst diminished markedly the extent of carbon deposition and thus boosted the performance towards better activity and stability. 相似文献

A simple, precise, accurate and selective method was developed and validated for determination of malondialdehyde (MDA) in olive oil. Separation was achieved on a reversed‐phase C8 column using a mobile phase consisting of methanol/0.8 % phosphoric acid (10:90, v/v), at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min and UV detection at 220 nm. This method was validated according to the requirements for new methods, which include accuracy, precision, selectivity, robustness, a limit of detection, limit of quantitation (LOQ), linearity and range. The current method demonstrated good linearity over the range of 0.5–1000 ppm of MDA with r2 greater than 0.999. The recovery of MDA in olive oil ranged from 97.1 to 99.1 %. The method was selective where MDA was distinctly separated from other compounds of the oil with good resolution. The method was also precise where the RSD of the peak areas of replicate injections of MDA standard solution were less than 1 %. The degree of reproducibility of the results obtained as a result of small deliberate variations in the method parameters and by changing the analytical operators proved that the method is robust and rugged. The low LOQ of MDA (0.5 ppm) using this method enables quantitation of MDA at low concentration. 相似文献

In this work, we present the preparation of polylactic acid (PLLA)/polyaniline (PANI) conductive composite nanofibers mats. They are prepared by bulk oxidative solution polymerization of PANI onto electrospun non‐woven fibers mats of PLLA. The PANI ratio in the composite is about 70%w/w. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) shows that PLLA nanofibers are randomly oriented, beads free with diameters of 186 ± 85 nm, The PLLA/PANI composite nanofibers diameter values are 518 ± 128 nm with a good adherence between PANI and PLLA nanofibers. DSC and XRD measurements reveal an amorphous structure of the electrospun PLLA fibers due to the rapid evaporization of the solvent. FTIR and UV–vis spectra reflect good mutual interactions between PANI and PLLA chains. The DC‐conductivities ( ) far better than other published ones for similar composites prepared by bulk oxidative solution polymerization of PANI onto other electrospun nanofiber mats or with electrospun nanofibers from a solution mixture of PLLA and PANI. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Polymer nanocomposites based on poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/starch blend and graphene were prepared by solution mixing and casting. Glycerol was used as a plasticizer and added in the starch dispersion. The uniform dispersion of graphene in water was achieved by using an Ultrasonicator Probe. The composites were characterized by FTIR, tensile properties, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), thermal analysis, and FE‐SEM studies. FTIR studies indicated probable hydrogen bonding interaction between the oxygen containing groups on graphene surface and the –OH groups in PVA and starch. Mechanical properties results showed that the optimum loading of graphene was 0.5 wt % in the blend. XRD studies indicated uniform dispersion of graphene in PVA/starch matrix upto 0.5 wt % loadings and further increase caused agglomeration. Thermal studies showed that the thermal stability of PVA increased and the crystallinity decreased in the presence of starch and graphene. Cementation is an effective process that meets the requirements of process cleanliness. The performance of the cementation reaction is dictated by a number of variables. In this study, the effects of various parameters on the yields of copper‐iron cementation (wire and powder) were investigated. Statistical full factorial designs were used to produce appropriate mixture models for the yields. The experimental designs were done at three different levels of three operating variables, namely initial concentration, temperature, and pH. The optimization studies were carried out with MATLAB 7.0 software. The optimum yields obtained from the predicted models were found to be 0.9916 and 0.9088 for iron wire and powder, respectively, under optimized conditions, and these were in accordance with the experimental observations. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: The aim of this work is to enhance the production of terpolyester poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate‐co‐3‐hydroxyvalerate‐co‐4‐hydroxybutyrate) (P(3HB‐co‐3HV‐co‐4HB)) produced by a locally isolated bacterium, Cupriavidus sp. USMAA2‐4. The monomer composition was varied by supplementing different carbon precursors and by manipulating the culture condition through one‐stage cultivation. The effect of C/N ratio and different concentrations of carbon source and precursors were investigated in order to produce higher content of this terpolyester. Although research on this biodegradable polyester is abundant, studies on terpolyester P(3HB‐co‐3HV‐co‐4HB) are still limited. RESULTS: Supplementation of oleic acid in accumulation medium increased the bacterial growth and polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) accumulation. It was also shown that medium consisting of assorted carbon precursors at C/N 20 gave relatively high dry cell weight and P(3HB‐co‐3HV‐co‐4HB) content. Various compositions of terpolyester were obtained when the concentration of oleic acid and 4HB precursors were manipulated. The combination of oleic acid with γ‐butyrolactone and 1‐pentanol was found to be the best combination to produce high PHA content (81 wt%). The composition of monomer in P(3HB‐co‐3HV‐co‐4HB) was produced in the range 8–13 mol% for 3HV and 9–24 mol% for 4HB, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The production of P(3HB‐co‐3HV‐co‐4HB) in shake‐flasks successfully produced 81 wt% of PHA content. This manipulated culture condition can be used at larger scale to provide modeling for the production of terpolyester in a bioreactor. Copyright © 2012 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

Nitrile butadiene rubber loaded with different concentrations of thin graphite nanosheets have been successfully prepared by using a two‐roll mill. The percolation concentration of the nanocomposites was 0.5 phr. The I–V characteristic curves showed that the nanocomposites exhibited ohmic behaviour at a certain voltage and then non‐linear behaviour. The Richardson–Schottky and Poole–Frenkel models were used to investigate the reason for the space charge. The experimental data fit the Schottky model well. The conductivity as a function of temperature was also studied and the data were fitted by using the Mott relation. The Mott relation showed that as the concentration of graphite nanosheets in the rubber composite increases, the hopping distance between the graphite nanosheet layers decreases, which enhances the conductivity of the nanocomposite at low concentrations. The barrier‐based distributor is a multiphase flow distributor for a multichannel microreactor which assures flow uniformity and prevents channeling between the two phases. For N number of reaction channels, the barrier‐based distributor consists of a gas manifold, a liquid manifold, N barrier channels for the gas, N barrier channels for the liquid, and N mixers for mixing the phases before the reaction channels. The flow distribution is studied numerically using a method based on the hydraulic resistive networks (RN). The single phase hydraulic RN model (Commenge et al., 2002;48:345–358) is extended for two phases gas‐liquid Taylor flow. For ReGL <30, the accuracy for the model was above 90%. The developed‐model was used to study the effects of fabrication tolerance and barrier channel dimensions. A design methodology has been proposed as an algorithm to determine the required hydraulic resistance in the barrier channels and their dimensions. This paper reports the results of studies on the effect of phenol functionalization of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on the mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties of natural rubber (NR) composites. Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR) indicates characteristic peaks for ether and aromatic rings in the case of phenol functionalized CNT. Although differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) studies show no changes in the glass‐rubber transition temperature (Tg) of NR in the nanocomposites due to surface modification of CNT, dynamic mechanical studies show marginal shifting of Tg to higher temperature, the effect being pronounced in the case of functionalized CNT. Stress‐strain plots suggest an optimum loading of 5 phr CNT in NR formulations and the phenolic functionalization of CNT does not affect significantly the stress‐strain properties of the NR nanocomposites. The storage moduli register an increase in the presence of CNT and this increase is greater in the case of functionalized CNT. Loss tangent showed a decrease in the presence of CNT, and the effect is more pronounced in the case of phenol functionalized CNT. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) reveals that phenol functionalization causes improvement in dispersion of CNT in NR matrix.
