Bone injuries represent a major social and financial impairment, commonly requiring surgical intervention due to a limited healing capacity of the tissue, particularly regarding critical-sized defects and non-union fractures. Regenerative medicine with the application of bone implants has been developing in the past decades towards the manufacturing of appropriate devices. This work intended to evaluate medical 316L stainless steel (SS)-based devices covered by a polymer poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA) coating for bone lesion mechanical and functional support. SS316L devices were subjected to a previously described silanization process, following a three-layer PLLA film coating. Devices were further characterized and evaluated towards their cytocompatibility and osteogenic potential using human dental pulp stem cells, and biocompatibility via subcutaneous implantation in a rat animal model. Results demonstrated PLLA-SS316L devices to present superior in vitro and in vivo outcomes and suggested the PLLA coating to provide osteo-inductive properties to the device. Overall, this work represents a preliminary study on PLLA-SS316L devices’ potential towards bone tissue regenerative techniques, showing promising outcomes for bone lesion support.  相似文献

In this letter we propose a mobility model using preferential attachment via objects called attractors. We introduce a new kind of mobility we call Gathering Mobility, where nodes, although independent, exhibit a collective behavior. This paper presents an in‐depth study of the adequacy of the AspectJ language for modularizing and reusing exception‐handling code. The study consisted of refactoring existing applications so that the code responsible for implementing error‐handling strategies was moved to newly created exception handler aspects. We have performed quantitative assessments of five systems—four object‐oriented and one aspect‐oriented—based on four key quality attributes, namely separation of concerns, coupling, cohesion, and conciseness. Our investigation also included a multi‐perspective analysis of the refactored systems, including (i) the extent to which error‐handling aspects can be reused, (ii) the beneficial and harmful aspectization scenarios for exception handling, and (iii) the scalability of AOP to support the modularization of exception handling in the presence of other aspects. In this study, the morphology and rheological properties of nanocomposites prepared by melt mixing of isotactic polypropylene (i-PP), ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer rubber (EPDM), and Cloisite 15A organoclay, were investigated at rest and under of uniaxial compression and stretching deformations at room temperature. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) experiments revealed that intercalation took place between the clay and the blend. The lamellar long period (L) of the polymeric structure determined by small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) was found to increase upon the addition of nanoclay, which also resulted in variations in the angle of rotation (?) between the polymer and clay lamellae. The intercalated nanoclay improved the storage and loss modulus of the resulting materials in the melt state significantly, as determined from oscillatory rheology analyses. Finally, we verified that the uniaxial plane deformation caused by compression of the nanocomposites contributed to the reduction of crystalline domains in the blend, while the crystallinity remained almost constant in the case of uniaxial stretching deformation.  相似文献

The aim of this investigation was to compare the performance of the following commercial coatings system, TiAlN/TiN, AlCrN, and TiSiN/AlCrN, deposited in cemented carbide tools in drilling compact graphite iron (CGI). The drilling tests were conducted adopting two cutting speeds: 80 or 150 m/min. For each test condition, the tool flank wear, the machining feed force, and the circularity and the roughness of the resulting drilled hole were determined. At the cutting speed of 80 m/min, the results revealed that the tool life, in terms of flank wear, was improved for the Cr-based coatings, while the multilayered coatings presented a better performance at the cutting speed of 150 m/min. It was also found that feed force is substantially increased when drilling at a cutting speed of 150 m/min. The holes drilled with the TiSiN/AlCrN at a cutting speed of 150 m/min showed the best circularity. The drill roughness is directly influenced by the coating system wear and iron adhesion. Consequently, it was found that the lowest holes’ roughness was obtained with TiSiN/AlCrN at 80 m/min.  相似文献

Sugarcane workers in Brazil are exposed to various genotoxic compounds, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), derived from an incomplete combustion process of burnt sugarcane fields. The effects of the occupational exposure to sugarcane fields burning were measured in urine samples of sugarcane workers from the northwest of the State of S?o Paulo when exposed (harvesting) and when non-exposed (non-harvesting). The urinary levels of 1-hydroxypyrene (1-OHP) and the influence of the genetic polymorphisms CYP1A1, GSTM1, GSTT1 and GSTP1 were evaluated. Our results showed that the 1-OHP levels were significantly higher (P<0.0000) in the exposed sugarcane workers (0.318 mumol mol(-1) creatinine) than in the non-exposed workers (0.035 mumol mol(-1) creatinine). In an unvaried analysis, no influence regarding the polymorphisms was observed. However, multivariate regression analysis showed that the CYP1A1()4 polymorphism in the exposed group, and age and the GSTP1 polymorphism in the non-exposed group significantly influenced urinary 1-OHP excretion levels (P<0.10). The same group of sugarcane workers was significantly more exposed to PAHs during the harvesting period than during the non-harvesting period.  相似文献

This study aims to develop a method for direct determination of Ca, K, and Mg in cassava flour samples by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). LIBS instrumental parameters were evaluated using factorial design with a central point. The variables evaluated were delay time (0.0; 1.0 and 1.8 μs) and fluence (81; 2037 and 4074 Jcm?2): both were tested in three different values. The best results obtained were with a delay time of 1.8 μs and a fluence of 4074 Jcm?2. The proposed calibration model obtained using LIBS data presented a good correlation with reference values obtained by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP OES). The predictive capabilities, based on the standard error of validation (SEV), were 117, 530 and 77 mg kg?1 for Ca, K, and Mg, respectively. The proposed LIBS method was applied to the analysis of 90 cassava flour samples, and the results showed concentrations of Ca, K, and Mg of 352–1845, 1285–3187, and 320–1242 mg kg?1, respectively.  相似文献
