Different grain sizes were created in a metastable 17Cr‐7Mn‐7Ni steel by martensite‐to‐austenite reversion at different temperatures using a laser beam. Two fully reverted material states obtained at 990°C and 780°C exhibited average grain sizes of 7.7 and 2.7 μm, respectively. The third microstructure (610°C) consisted of grains at different stages of recrystallization and deformed austenite. A hot‐pressed, coarse‐grained counterpart was studied for reference. The yield and tensile strengths increased with refined grain size, maintaining reasonable elongation except for the heterogeneous microstructure. Total strain‐controlled fatigue tests revealed increasing initial stress amplitudes but decreasing cyclic hardening and fatigue‐induced α′‐martensite formation with decreasing grain size. Fatigue life was slightly improved for the 2.7‐μm grain size. Contrary, the heterogeneous microstructure yielded an inferior lifetime, especially at high strain amplitudes. Examinations of the cyclically deformed microstructure showed that the characteristic deformation band structure was less pronounced in refined grains. 相似文献

Organic semiconductors are the centerpiece of several vibrant research fields from single‐molecule to organic electronics, and they are finding increasing use in bioelectronics and even classical polymer technology. The versatile chemistry and broad range of electronic functionalities of conjugated materials enable the bridging of length scales 15 orders of magnitude apart, ranging from a single nanometer (10?9 m) to the size of continents (106 m). This work provides a taste of the diverse applications that can be realized with organic semiconductors. New forms of artificial intelligence on the one hand and the ubiquitous networking of “everything with everything” on the other hand characterize the fourth industrial revolution. This results in a changed understanding of human–machine interaction, in new models for production, in which man and machine together with virtual agents form hybrid teams. The empirical study “Socializing with robots” aims to gain insight especially into conditions of development and processes of hybrid human–machine teams. In the experiment, human–robot actions and interactions were closely observed in a virtual environment. Robots as partners differed in shape and behavior (reliable or faulty). Participants were instructed to achieve an objective that could only be achieved via close teamwork. This paper unites different aspects from core disciplines of social robotics and psychology contributing to anthropomorphization with the empirical insights of the experiment. It focuses on the psychological effects (e.g. reactions of different personality types) on anthropomorphization and mechanization, taking the inter- and transdisciplinary field of social robotics as a starting point. 相似文献

The variation of the brominated indole and diterpenoid content within single and different colonies of the bryozoan Flustra foliacea was investigated. The secondary metabolite profile and concentrations of individual components of F. foliacea samples were established using GC-MS. Samples from 17 different collecting sites were analyzed. The alkaloid and diterpene composition of F. foliacea varied greatly depending upon the site of collection. Investigation of F. foliacea samples from a single site (Helgoland, North Sea) over a period of time showed that the alkaloid and diterpenoid profile remained constant, however concentrations of individual components varied significantly. The alkaloid and diterpenoid composition of different segments of a single colony was found to be constant. Only small differences could be detected in the essential oil composition of different colonies and segments of single colonies of F. foliacea. Two of the F. foliacea alkaloids were found in the gastropods Hydrobia ulva and Gibbula cinerea, and one alkaloid in the common starfish Asteria rubens, all collected from the surface of the bryozoan. 相似文献

A mobile root‐zone wastewater treatment system with a reaction zone consisting solely of reed roots as the growth surface for microorganisms was tested for temporary applications in the treatment of municipal wastewater. Pretreated municipal wastewater from a large‐scale wastewater treatment plant was fed to this system during the 2016 vegetation period. The outlet limit values for chemical oxygen demand and biochemical oxygen demand were adhered to reliably at an inlet volumetric flow rate of 1200 L d?1. Short‐term loading peaks of up to 1800 L d?1 did not lead to overloading of the system. 相似文献

Rett syndrome (RS) is a pervasive neurodevelopmental disorder resulting from loss‐of‐function mutations in the X‐linked gene methyl‐Cpg‐binding protein 2 (MECP2). Using a well‐defined model for RS, the C57BL6/Mecp2tm1.1Bird mouse, we have previously found a moderate but persistently lower rate of cholesterol synthesis, measured in vivo, in the brains of Mecp2?/y mice, starting from about the third week after birth. There was no genotypic difference in the total cholesterol concentration throughout the brain at any age. This raised the question of whether the lower rate of cholesterol synthesis in the mutants was balanced by a fall in the rate at which cholesterol was converted via cholesterol 24‐hydroxylase (Cyp46A1) to 24S‐hydroxycholesterol (24S‐OHC), the principal route through which cholesterol is ordinarily removed from the brain. Here, we show that while there were no genotypic differences in the concentrations in plasma and liver of three cholesterol precursors (lanosterol, lathosterol, and desmosterol), two plant sterols (sitosterol and campesterol), and two oxysterols (27‐hydroxycholesterol [27‐OHC] and 24S‐OHC), the brains of the Mecp2 ?/y mice had significantly lower concentrations of all three cholesterol precursors, campesterol, and both oxysterols, with the level of 24S‐OHC being ~20% less than in their Mecp2 +/y controls. Together, these data suggest that coordinated regulation of cholesterol synthesis and catabolism in the central nervous system is maintained in this model for RS. Furthermore, we speculate that the adaptive changes in these two pathways conceivably resulted from a shift in the permeability of the blood–brain barrier as implied by the significantly lower campesterol and 27‐OHC concentrations in the brains of the Mecp2?/y mice. 相似文献

Robust, macroscopically uniform, and highly sensitive substrates for surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) are fabricated using wafer‐scale block copolymer lithography. The substrate consists of gold nanoparticles that can slide and aggregate on dense and recyclable alumina/silicon nanohoodoos. Hot‐spot engineering is conducted to maximize the SERS performance of the substrate. The substrate demonstrates remarkably large surface‐averaged SERS enhancements, greater than 107 (>108 in hot spots), with unrivalled macroscopic signal uniformity as characterized by a coefficient of variation of only 6% across 4 cm. After SERS analyses, the nanohoodoos can be recycled by complete removal of gold via a one‐step, simple, and robust wet etching process without compromising performance. After eight times of recycling, the substrate still exhibits identical SERS performance in comparison to a new substrate. The macroscopic uniformity combined with recyclability at conserved high performance is expected to contribute significantly on the overall competitivity of the substrates. These findings show that the gold nanoparticles sliding on recyclable nanohoodoo substrate is a very strong candidate for obtaining cost‐effective, high‐quality, and reliable SERS spectra, facilitating a wide and simple use of SERS for both laboratorial and commercial applications. 相似文献

The 3GPP’s self-organizing networks (SONs) standards are a huge step towards the autonomic networking concept. They are the response to the increasing complexity and size of the mobile networks. This paper proposes a novel scheme for SONs. This scheme is based on machine learning techniques and additionally adopting the concept of abstraction and modularity. The implementation of these concepts in a machine learning scheme allows the usage of independent vendor and technology algorithms and reusability of the proposed approach for different optimization tasks in a network. The scheme is tested for solving an energy saving optimization problem in a heterogeneous network. The results from simulation experiments show that such an approach could be an appropriate solution for developing a full self-managing future network. 相似文献

Previous work within self-determination theory has shown that experimentally framing a learning activity in terms of extrinsic rather than intrinsic goals results in poorer conceptual learning and performance, presumably because extrinsic goal framing detracts attention from the learning activity and is less directly satisfying of basic psychological needs. According to the match perspective, experimental extrinsic, compared to intrinsic, goal framing should enhance learning and performance for learners who personally hold a stronger extrinsic than intrinsic goal orientation, as these learners' personally held goals match with the situationally induced goals. An experimental field study among 5th-6th grade children shows that extrinsic goal framing resulted in poorer autonomous motivation, conceptual (but not rote) learning, and persistence compared to intrinsic goal framing, irrespective of participants' personal intrinsic versus extrinsic goal orientations and their spontaneous perception of the learning activity as serving an intrinsic or an extrinsic goal. The authors conclude that teachers can best promote intrinsic goals, even when facing students who personally hold a stronger extrinsic than intrinsic goal orientation.
