Abstract— Light sources with wavelengths from near‐UV to near‐IR can cure skin diseases, relieve pain in the body, reduce wrinkles on the skin, treat acne on the face, grow hairs on head, and heal various kinds of other diseases. This is called phototherapy. Near‐UV, visible, and near‐IR LEDs now enable phototherapy viable for personal use because of the possibility of controlling the intensity of LED light with specific wavelengths. High-mix-low-volume (HMLV) production is currently a worldwide manufacturing trend. It requires a high degree of customization in the manufacturing process to produce a wide range of products in low quantity in order to meet customers' demand for more variety and choices of products. Such a kind of business environment has increased the conversion time and decreased the production efficiency due to frequent production changeover. In this paper, a layered-encoding cascade optimization (LECO) approach is proposed to develop an HMLV product-mix optimizer that exhibits the benefits of low conversion time, high productivity, and high equipment efficiency. Specifically, the genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) techniques are employed as optimizers for different decision layers in different LECO models. Each GA and PSO optimizer is studied and compared. A number of hypothetical and real data sets from a manufacturing plant are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed GA and PSO optimizers. The results indicate that, with a proper selection of the GA and PSO optimizers, the LECO approach is able to generate high-quality product-mix plans to meet the production demands in HMLV manufacturing environments. 相似文献

This article proposes an asymmetric topology for transmit/receive (T/R) switches and more importantly presents a comparative study of both LC‐tuned and resistive body‐floating techniques for improving the power‐handling capability of the T/R switches in the same 0.18‐μm triple‐well CMOS. It is shown from simulations and measurements that the switches adopting either technique achieve comparable performances. For instance, the switch employing the LC‐tuned body‐floating technique exhibits insertion loss of 1.5 dB, isolation of 23.5 dB, and power‐handling capability of 22.5 dBm at 5.2 GHz, whereas the switch using the resistive body‐floating technique exhibits insertion loss of 1.3 dB, isolation of 24 dB, and power‐handling capability of 22.2 dBm, respectively. Therefore, one can conclude that the asymmetric topology with the resistive body‐floating technique is more suitable for designing T/R switches for wireless local area network applications as it consumes smaller silicon area. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We present a fast immersed interface method for solving the steady Stokes flows involving the rigid boundaries. The immersed rigid boundary is represented by a set of Lagrangian control points. In order to enforce the prescribed velocity at the rigid boundary, singular forces at the rigid boundary are applied on the fluid. The forces are related to the jumps in pressure and the jumps in the derivatives of both pressure and velocity, and are approximated using the cubic splines. The strength of singular forces is determined by solving a small system of equations via the GMRES method. The Stokes equations are discretized using finite difference method with the incorporation of jump conditions on a staggered Cartesian grid and solved by the conjugate gradient Uzawa-type method. Numerical results demonstrate the accuracy and ability of the proposed method to simulate Stokes flows on irregular domains. 相似文献

The study and development of transportation systems have been a focus of attention in recent years, with many research efforts directed in particular at modelling traffic behaviour from both macroscopic and microscopic points of views. Although many statistical regression models of road traffic relationships have been formulated, they have proven to be unsuitable due to multiple and ill-defined traffic characteristics. Alternative methods such as neural networks have thus been sought but, despite some promising results, their design remains problematic and implementation is equally difficult. Another salient issue is that the opaqueness of trained networks prevents understanding the underlying models. Hybrid neuro-fuzzy rule-based systems, which combine the complementary capabilities of both neural networks and fuzzy logic, constitute a more promising technique for modelling traffic flow. This paper describes the application of a specific class of neuro-fuzzy system known as the Pseudo Outer-Product Fuzzy-Neural Network using Truth-Value-Restriction method (POPFNN-TVR) for modelling traffic behaviour. This approach has been shown to perform better on such problems than similar architectures. The results obtained highlight the capability of POPFNN-TVR in fuzzy knowledge extraction for modelling inter-lane relationships in a highway traffic stream, as well as in generalizing from sample data, as compared to traditional feed-forward neural networks using back-propagation learning. In this paper, an output feedback controller is studied to regulate a class of upper triangular nonlinear systems with uncertain time‐varying delays. The key features of our considered system are that there are uncertain time‐varying delays in both states and input and the high‐order nonlinearity is in a more relaxed form over the previous results. Stability of neutral stochastic switched time delay systems: An average dwell time approach 下载免费PDF全文
This paper considers a class of stochastic systems referred to as stochastic switched systems of neutral type with time‐varying delay, which combines switched systems with neutral stochastic systems. The systems consist of subsystems of two forms: (i) only stable subsystems and (ii) both stable subsystems and unstable subsystems. By establishing an integral inequality, the exponential stability in pth(p≥1)‐moment for such systems with only stable subsystems is first considered. Then, by using an average dwell time approach, the exponential stability in pth(p≥1)‐moment for the second form is addressed. An important finding of this study is that when the average dwell time is chosen to be sufficiently large and the total activation time of unstable subsystems is relatively small compared with that of stable subsystems, the exponential stability in pth(p≥1)‐moment for such systems can be guaranteed. Two major advantages of these new results are that the differentiability or continuity of the delay function is not required compared with the existing results in the literature, and the proposed approaches can be used to consider the case when the neutral item and the stochastic perturbation are simultaneously presented. This paper proposes a probabilistic variant of the SOM-kMER (Self Organising Map-kernel-based Maximum Entropy learning Rule)
model for data classification. The classifier, known as pSOM-kMER (probabilistic SOM-kMER), is able to operate in a probabilistic
environment and to implement the principles of statistical decision theory in undertaking classification problems. A distinctive
feature of pSOM-kMER is its ability in revealing the underlying structure of data. In addition, the Receptive Field (RF) regions
generated can be used for variable kernel and non-parametric density estimation. Empirical evaluation using benchmark datasets
shows that pSOM-kMER is able to achieve good performance as compared with those from a number of machine learning systems.
The applicability of the proposed model as a useful data classifier is also demonstrated with a real-world medical data classification
