VLSI architectural design tradeoffs for sliding-window log-MAP decoders

Turbo codes have received tremendous attention and have commenced their practical applications due to their excellent error-correcting capability. Investigation of efficient iterative decoder realizations is of particular interest because the underlying soft-input soft-output decoding algorithms usually lead to highly complicated implementation. This paper describes the architectural design and analysis of sliding-window (SW) Log-MAP decoders in terms of a set of predetermined parameters. The derived mathematical representations can be applied to construct a variety of VLSI architectures for different applications. Based on our development, a SW-Log-MAP decoder complying with the specification of third-generation mobile radio systems is realized to demonstrate the performance tradeoffs among latency, average decoding rate, area/computation complexity, and memory power consumption. This paper thus provides useful and general information on practical implementation of SW-Log-MAP decoders.     

柴达木盆地北缘的右行走滑冲断系统及其动力学

通过对于断裂系统分析和地球物理资料的解释,证实了柴达木盆地北缘西段的主要构造形成时间为上新世以后,变形样式为一系列右行走滑冲断构造。走滑冲断构造带内部的断层在平面上呈分支复合,剖面上表现为正花状构造,断层上、下盘地层层序无法直接对比。右行走滑冲断构造形成于南祁连由北向南的斜向推覆作用,而主要应力来源于柴达木地块北缘由南向北的陆内俯冲作用。用一个运动学模型解释了柴北缘的右行走滑冲断作用机制。     

一种96×64彩色OLED显示驱动电路的设计

OLED是一种新型平板显示器件,文章设计了一种应用于96×64彩色PM-OLED的显示驱动芯片。该芯片能实现256级对比度调节和65k色彩显示。芯片为高压、大电流的数模混合电路,内部包括数字控制电路,片内SRAM,片内振荡器,DC-DC升压电路,行驱动电路,高压基准电流源电路,以及电流精确可调的列驱动电路。该芯片是一种电流驱动型电路,列驱动电路采用PAM方式实现灰度调制,以及大电流预充的方式对PM-OLED屏幕像素进行预充。全芯片已通过Nanosim仿真,并进行了部分测试。仿真和测试结果验证了设计的正确性。     

Category Norms as a Function of Culture and Age: Comparisons of Item Responses to 105 Categories by American and Chinese Adults.

Understanding how aging influences cognition across different cultures has been hindered by a lack of standardized, cross-referenced verbal stimuli. This study introduces a database of such item-level stimuli for both younger and older adults, in China and the United States, and makes 3 distinct contributions. First, the authors specify which item categories generalize across age and/or cultural groups, rigorously quantifying differences among them. Second, they introduce novel, powerful methods to measure between-group differences in freely generated ranked data, the rank-ordered logit model and Hellinger Affinity. Finally, a broad archive of tested, cross-linguistic stimuli is now freely available to researchers: data, similarity measures, and all stimulus materials for 105 categories and 4 culture-by-age groups, comprising over 10,000 fully translated unique item responses. Solving matrix diophantine equations by inverting a square nonsingular system of equations

A method for solving the Diophantine equation using a nonsingular matrix equation system is proposed in this note. A scheme of setting up a system with the same number of variables as equations is described. An analytical approach to ensure the invertibility of the system formed is given. Examples presented show the simplicity of the method.     

X-Ray Measurement of Residual Stress in Plastic Bonded Explosives

The X-ray diffractive technology was adopted for tentative study of plastic bonded explosive. The datum of some new diffractive peaks in standard PDF cards were added. The effects of strain to interplanar distance and crystal size of the explosive were studied. The results show that grain size of plastic bonded explosive is decreasing with the increasing of the pressure, and the residual stress of the explosive is draw stress.     

Enhanced transmission through two-period arrays of subwavelength holes

A two-period array of subwavelength holes in a perfect electrically conducting plate permits enhanced transmission of incident plane waves with wavenumbers near those of leaky waves supported by the array. A simple periodic impedance sheet model explains this phenomenon and provides an approximate expression for the transmission peak location. Transmission through thin perforated plates is studied using a full-wave solver to verify model-theoretic observations. Transmission coefficient peak splitting and narrowing phenomena, associated with thick perforated plates, are explored.
