In this work, we propose a new way of splitting the flux function of the isentropic compressible Euler equations at low Mach number into stiff and non-stiff parts. Following the IMEX methodology, the latter ones are treated explicitly, while the first ones are treated implicitly. The splitting is based on the incompressible limit solution, which we call reference solution. An analysis concerning the asymptotic consistency and numerical results demonstrate the advantages of this splitting.  相似文献

The degradation and biogas production potential of sisal fibre waste could be significantly increased by pre-treatment for reduction of particle size. Batch-wise anaerobic digestion of sisal fibre waste was carried out in 1-l digesters with fibre sizes ranging from 2 to 100 mm, at an ambient temperature of 33 °C. Sediment from a stabilisation pond at a sisal production plant was used as starter seed. Total fibre degradation increased from 31% to 70% for the 2 mm fibres, compared to untreated sisal fibres. Furthermore, the results confirmed that methane yield was inversely proportional to particle size. Methane yield increased by 23% when the fibres were cut to 2 mm size and was 0.22 m3 CH4/kg volatile solids, compared to 0.18 m3 CH4/kg volatile solids for untreated fibres. By anaerobic digestion and biogas production, the 148,000 tonne of waste sisal fibres generated annually in Tanzania could yield 22 million m3 of methane, and an additional 5 million m3 of methane if pre-treatment by size reduction to 2 mm was applied.  相似文献

In this study, ex-situ experiments performed with a point injection device are conducted to evaluate water distributions in gas diffusion layer (GDL) materials which serve as porous transport media in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). In this regard, GDL samples manufactured by SGL Group are placed into the point injection device and visualized by means of synchrotron X-ray radiographic and tomographic imaging. The resulting image data undergoes a coordinate transformation that ascertains water agglomerations in GDL pores with regard to their radial displacements from the injection point. In this way, water transport in two different GDL samples possessing the same structural characteristics, but with unique compression rates, are investigated in terms of in-plane water distribution. The radial displacement analysis indicated that the pore saturation of the compressed GDL is higher in both the micro porous layer (MPL) region and the carbon fiber substrate region than that of the uncompressed GDL. The water agglomerations in the uncompressed GDL are predominantly observed in the vicinity of the injection point, indicating a limited in-plane transport. Conversely, in the compressed case water accumulations are detected far from the injection point, even at the edge of the GDL, pointing out that compression promotes the in-plane transport. Prior to the ex-situ experiments, both GDL samples have undergone an ageing procedure to mimic realistic cell operating conditions.  相似文献

Resin catalysts have the advantage of having various properties and long lifetime due to their ability to be regenerated easily, which makes them attractive supports. In this paper, a comparative study was conducted to optimize the dehydrogenation reaction condition using two different types of support materials: alumina (Al2O3), and Amberlyst-15 and to improve the catalytic activity as well as preparing an efficient and low-cost system for practical application, ruthenium metal catalyst was incorporated on Amberlyst-15 resin (a sulfonic acid type based upon a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer) to release H2 via hydrolytic dehydrogenation of ammonia borane. Using ruthenium (Ru) catalysts based on Amberlyst-15 support material and comparing the results with Al2O3 as the common supporting material is considered to be studied for the first time. The effect of temperature (20–50 °C), the initial ammonia borane concentration (0.05–0.5 %wt), and catalyst amount (0.2–0.5 g) on the produced H2 yield was also investigated. Ru@Amberlyst-15 nanoparticle was discovered to be an effective catalyst for hydrogen evolution via the hydrolysis of ammonia borane with a turnover frequency value (TOF) of 343.3 min?1, while Ru@Al2O3 yielded a TOF of 87.5 min?1 at the room temperature. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Amberlyst-15 supporting effect on ruthenium metal leads an increase in the hydrogen production rate.  相似文献

We introduce Kynoid, a real-time monitoring and enforcement framework for Android. Kynoid is based on user-defined security policies which are defined for data-items. This allows users to define temporal, spatial, and destination constraints which have to hold for single items. We introduce an innovative approach to allow for the real-time tracking and enforcement of such policies. In this way, Kynoid is the first extension for Android which enables the enforcement of security policies of data-items stored in shared resources. We outline Kynoid's architecture, present its operation and discuss it in terms of applicability, and performance. By providing a proof-of-concept implementation we further show the feasibility of our framework.  相似文献

Physical Activity (PA) plays an important role in the health and quality of life of cystic fibrosis (CF) patients, but little is known about their PA in daily living. With the use of accelerometers it is now possible to monitor activity profiles in detail. The goals of this study are to assess feasibility and acceptance of a longer-term use of accelerometers in daily living in CF patients, study the possibility of detecting changes in PA in relation to the patients’ clinical state and compare the findings between a CF and an age-matched healthy control group. We asked 15 CF patients to wear two accelerometers for 21 days and fill in a diary. Ten of them (age 21 to 40, mean 29.5 years) participated and delivered data that could be evaluated. We also recruited 10 age-matched control subjects. Data was processed for calculating usage time and features extracted to construct models of activity. The younger patients, particularly females, were concerned with fashion and style and considered wearing the sensors a challenge. Overall, the compliance of patients with CF seemed to be lower than reported for elder subjects in the literature. Time-series analysis of the data indicated characteristic patterns of PA over time, provided that data pre-processing and noise-filtering had been optimized. Further studies have to assess whether the continuous recording of PA yields additional clinical information in CF and in particular, whether it is possible to detect or even predict exacerbations in patients with CF or other diseases.  相似文献

In the last few years, various studies on terahertz (THz) birefringence have been presented, based on polarization-sensitive THz time-domain spectroscopy. The field of THz birefringence is a wide one covering several aspects, such as different materials exhibiting THz birefringence, polarization-sensitive THz technology, as well as numerous methods for extracting the birefringence properties of a sample from the THz data. Therefore, this paper aims at reviewing recent results on THz birefringence measurements presented in literature, addressing the above aspects and giving an overview of the topic. Moreover, it will focus on the investigation of birefringent fibrous samples, where specific results will be discussed in detail. Altogether, this paper should give a comprehensive view on the recent achievements in the measurements of THz birefringence.  相似文献

Silicon carbide and silicon rich carbide (SiC and SRC) thin films were prepared by PECVD and annealed at 1100 °C. Such a treatment, when applied to SiC/SRC multilayers, aimed at the formation of silicon nanocrystals, that have attracted considerable attention as tunable band-gap materials for photovoltaic applications. Optical and structural techniques (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Reflectance and Transmittance, Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy) were used to evidence the formation, during the annealing treatment in nominally inert atmosphere, of a parasitic ternary SiOxCy surface compound, that consumed part of the originally deposited material and behaved as a preferential conductive path with respect to the nanocrystal layer in horizontal electrical conductivity measurements. The SiOxCy compound was HF-resistant, with composition dependent on the underlying matrix. It gave rise to a Si-O related vibration in FTIR analysis, that may be misinterpreted as due to silicon oxide. The compound, if neglected, can affect the structural and electrical characterization of the material.To overcome this problem, a procedure is analyzed, based on the deposition of a sacrificial capping a-Si:H layer that partially oxidizes, and is removed by tetra methyl ammonium hydroxide (TMAH) after annealing. XPS analysis revealed that the resulting surface is mainly made up of SiC regardless of the composition of the underlying SRC layer. Subsequent SF6:O2 dry etching results in a porous SiC-rich surface layer. The proposed method is effective in controlling the SRC surface configuration, and allows the performance of reliable optical and electrical characterization.  相似文献
