In this paper, we have proposed a blind motion deblurring algorithm that comprises the estimation of the motion blur parameters (length and angle) in a modified cepstrum domain with a blind no-reference image spatial quality evaluator (BRISQUE) used for the tuning of point spread function (PSF) parameters. Ringing artifacts are generated during the deblurring process. In this paper, the modified R–L (Richardson–Lucy) algorithm with weight calculation based on graphcut is presented to obtain good estimates of the unblurred image with ringing reduction. The method involves the selection of different weights for edges and smooth regions such that the ringing effect over R–L iterations can be reduced. A newly proposed method has been tested on various natural images with a motion blur of different length and degrees. A comparison with state-of-the-art methods proves that the proposed technique achieved better results in terms of different quality measures such as SSIM, FSIM and PSNR and can be greatly beneficial for deblurring purpose.  相似文献

When a carbon nanotube emitter is operated at high currents (typically above 1 microA per emitter), a small voltage drop ( approximately few volts) along its length or at its contact generates a reverse/canceling electric field that causes a saturation-like deviation from the classical Fowler-Nordheim behavior with respect to the applied electric field. We present a correction to the Fowler-Nordheim equation to account for this effect, which is experimentally verified using field emission and contact electrical measurements on individual carbon nanotube emitters. By using rapid thermal annealing to improve both the crystallinity of the carbon nanotubes and their electrical contact to the substrate, it is possible to reduce this voltage drop, allowing very high currents of up to 100 microA to be achieved per emitter with no significant deviation from the classical Fowler-Nordheim behavior.  相似文献

The manganese dioxides prepared by chlorate oxidation of Mn(II) salts [Electrochim. Acta28, 309 (1983)] are further characterized by magnetic susceptibility measurements and differential thermal analysis. An attempt is made to correlate the changes in physicochemical parameters such as crystal lattice parameters, ir absorption frequency mining, peak decomposition temperature for the MnO2 → Mn2O3 transformation, magnetic susceptibilities and surface areas, with the changes in catalytic and electrochemical activity of the manganese dioxides.  相似文献

Specularity coefficient (?) and particle–particle restitution coefficient (e) are two important parameters governing the flow physics of dispersed gas-particle flows. In this work, a detailed numerical analysis is carried out to get an insight into the effects of these two parameters in the flow hydrodynamics of dispersed gas-particle flows through horizontal channels. Investigations have also been carried out to find the ?-e pair for which the phase velocities become an extremum. It has been found that at a particular value of e, both gas and particle velocities at the centerline of the channel increase with increase in the value of ?, whereas near the wall, they tend to decrease. At a fixed non-zero value of ?, both gas and particle velocities tend to increase with increase in the value of e. For ? equal to zero, which corresponds to free-slip boundary condition for particle velocity, there is no significant variations in gas and particle velocities with changes in e. Out of all combinations of values of ? and e investigated herein, it is found that both gas and particle velocities attain a maximum value when both the values of ? and e are maximum.  相似文献

We numerically investigate the effects of restitution and specularity coefficients on the characteristics of dispersed gas-particle flows through a sudden expansion. The studies are carried out using an indigenous finite volume flow solver in a collocated framework with two-fluid model. Parametric studies are performed to gain insights into the differences in recirculation patterns that arise due to variations in restitution and specularity coefficients. The simulations show that particle-particle interactions, quantified by restitution coefficient (e) have a greater impact on recirculation characteristics than particle-wall interactions, which are quantified by specularity coefficient (?). Studies reveal that the recirculation lengths tend to decrease as particle collisions become more elastic (as e tends to unity) while they increase, as the value of ? increases. However, the changes in recirculation length are very gradual and less pronounced when only particle-wall interactions are considered as compared to particle-particle interactions. From the range of parametric variations studied in this work, the maximum recirculation length has been found when the value of ? is maximum and that of e is minimum.  相似文献

This paper introduces a new benchmark study to evaluate the performance of landmark-based shape correspondence used for statistical shape analysis. Different from previous shape-correspondence evaluation methods, the proposed benchmark first generates a large set of synthetic shape instances by randomly sampling a given statistical shape model that defines a ground-truth shape space. We then run a test shape-correspondence algorithm on these synthetic shape instances to identify a set of corresponded landmarks. According to the identified corresponded landmarks, we construct a new statistical shape model, which defines a new shape space. We finally compare this new shape space against the ground-truth shape space to determine the performance of the test shape-correspondence algorithm. In this paper, we introduce three new performance measures that are landmark independent to quantify the difference between the ground-truth and the newly derived shape spaces. By introducing a ground-truth shape space that is defined by a statistical shape model and three new landmark-independent performance measures, we believe the proposed benchmark allows for a more objective evaluation of shape correspondence than previous methods. In this paper, we focus on developing the proposed benchmark for $2$D shape correspondence. However it can be easily extended to $3$D cases.  相似文献

Dysmorphology refers to study of human congenital malformations (birth defects). Most of the case reporting in dysmorphology is subjective and is based on experience of the reporting clinician. We have used the methods of geometric morphometrics to analyze the variation in faces of normal individuals and those with dysmorphic syndrome. We obtained photographs of 20 individuals with Rubinstein Taybi syndrome and 30 normal, age and sex matched individuals. The photographs were digitized with 16 landmarks on the face to obtain 32 "x" and "y" co-ordinates. These co-ordinates were then subjected to generalized procrustes superimposition in order to normalize for effects of size, rotation and position of image. The procrustes residuals thus obtained were then subjected to principal component analysis. The principal component analysis resulted in extraction of three important principal components explaining 41%, 17% and 14% of variance, respectively. Discriminant analysis could differentiate the two groups using first two principal component scores for each individual, with a predictive accuracy of 76% (Wilks lambda=0.725, chi2=15.09, d.f.=2, p=0.001). Binary logistic regression analysis showed predictive accuracy of 78% based on this model. The utility of the subjective evaluation of facial characteristics is multifold. The results of the analysis can be used as representatives of the facial dysmorphism for any genotype-phenotype association study. We conclude that application of the principles of geometric morphometrics to study of shape variation in facies of patients with dysmorphic syndromes appears to be a promising new area of research.  相似文献

In the last few decades, information security has gained huge importance owing to the massive growth in digital communication; hence, driving steganography to the forefront for secure communication. Steganography is a practice of concealing information or message in covert communication which involves hiding the information in any multimedia file such as text, image, or video. Many contributions have been made in the domain of image steganography; however, due to the low embedding capacity and robustness of images; videos are gaining more attention of academic researchers. This paper aims to provide a qualitative as well as quantitative analysis of various video steganography techniques by highlighting their properties, challenges, pros, and cons. Moreover, different quality metrics for the evaluation of distinct steganography techniques have also been discussed. The paper also provides an overview of steganalysis attacks which are commonly employed to test the security of the steganography techniques. The experimental analysis of some of the prominent techniques using different quality metrics has also been done. This paper also presented a critical analysis driven from the literature and the experimental results. The primary objective of this paper is to help the beginners to understand the basic concepts of this research domain to initiate their research in this field. Further, the paper highlighted the real-life applications of video steganography and also suggested some future directions which require the attention of the research community.
