In recent years, integration of wireless sensor networks in industrial environments has greatly increased. With this trend, new fields such as industrial IoT have arisen, which in turn have opened the doors to new possibilities that are shaping the future of industrial automation. In contrast to regular wireless networks, however, industrial applications of WSN are characterized for being time-critical systems with highly stringent requirements that challenge all available technologies. Because of its ultra-low energy properties, compatibility with most mobile units, reduced production costs, robustness and high throughput, Bluetooth low energy (BLE) is a potential candidate for these settings. This article explores the potential of BLE of meeting the real-time demands found in the domain of industrial process automation and industrial IoT. In order to evaluate the suitability of the protocol for these scenarios, the effect of adaptations in the retransmission scheme on the reliability and timeliness performance are thoroughly studied. Three retransmission schemes are evaluated and simulation results proved that by optimally modifying the BLE retransmission model, a maximum delay below 46 ms and a packet loss rate in the order of \(10^{-5}\) can be obtained, enabling BLE to fulfill the requirements of even the most demanding cases within the considered range of applications.  相似文献

Distribution of interface states at the emitter–base heterojunctions in heterostructure bipolar transistors (HBTs) is characterized by using current–voltage characteristics using sub-bandgap photonic excitation. Sub-bandgap photonic source with a photon energy Eph which is less than the energy bandgap Eg (Eg,GaAs = 1.42, Eg,AlGaAs = 1.76 eV) of emitter, base, and collector of HBTs, is employed for exclusive excitation of carriers only from the interface states in the photo-responsive energy range at emitter–base heterointerface. The proposed method is applied to an Al0.3Ga0.7As/GaAs HBT (AE = WE × LE = 250 × 100 μm2) with Eph = 0.943 eV and Popt = 3 mW. Extracted interface trap density Dit was observed to be Dit,max  4.2 × 1012 eV−1 cm−2 at emitter–base heterointerface.  相似文献

Most mobile radio networks have been planned based on the classical cellular concept. However, alternative planning strategies that lead to more efficient network configurations are necessary due to the fact that the traffic density is generally far from constant throughout the service area, making necessary the relocation of base stations inside the traffic hotspots. If the traffic is characterized in a discrete way, the optimization of base stations location resembles vector quantization, a well-known problem in signal processing. In this paper, we use this analogy to propose a mobile radio network planning algorithm. Simulation results show that higher trunking efficiency as well as improved frequency assignment can be obtained if an existing mobile radio network is redesigned using the presented strategy. Raúl Chávez-Santiago was born in Oaxaca City, Mexico. He obtained the B.Sc. degree in communications and electronics engineering in 1997 from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ESIME-IPN), and the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering in 2001 from the Center of Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV-IPN) in Mexico City. He has professional experience as Computer Networking Engineer, and Research and Teaching Assistant. Currently, he is completing his studies toward the Ph.D. degree at Ben-Gurion University (BGU) of the Negev, Israel. In 2002, he received the URSI Young Scientist Award. His main research interests are the optimal planning of radio communication networks, the electromagnetic compatibility of terrestrial and satellite radio systems, and the efficient use of the radio spectrum. He is an IEEE and IEICE student member, and a URSI radio scientist. Avi Raymond was born in Yavne, Israel. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Ben-Gurion University (BGU) of the Negev in 2000 and 2005, respectively. He worked for two years in a communication company in the field of Telephony and Broadband Services. He also worked as a Research Assistant in the communications laboratory at BGU. He currently works at Elta Electronic Industries Ltd. as System Engineer and pursues studies toward a second M.Sc. degree in systems engineering at the Technion Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. His research interests are the optimization algorithms for frequency assignment in cellular networks. Vladimir Lyandres was born in 1944, in Vologda, Russia. He received the M.Sc. degree in communications engineering in 1966 and the Ph.D. degree in communications theory in 1972 from the State University of Telecommunications (SUT), Saint Petersburg, Russia. He was with SUT until 1990 holding a position of Senior Scientific Associate and working on research and development of digital transmission systems, modeling of radio communication channels and algorithms of frequency planning for broadcasting and cellular systems. Since 1991 he holds a position of Researcher at the communications laboratory and Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ben-Gurion University (BGU) of the Negev, Israel. His research interests include synthesis of Markov models, combinatorial optimization, and adaptive power loading. He is a senior member of IEEE and member of IEICE.  相似文献

A high‐voltage supercapacitor with shape memory for driving an integrated NO2 gas sensor is fabricated using a Norland Optical Adhesive 63 polymer substrate, which can recover the original shape after deformation by short‐time heating. The supercapacitor consists of multiwalled carbon nanotube electrodes and organic electrolyte. By using organic electrolyte consisting of adiponitrile, acetonitrile, and dimethyl carbonate in an optimized volume ratio of 1:1:1, a high operation voltage of 2 V is obtained. Furthermore, asymmetric electrolytes with different redox additives of hydroquinone and 1,4‐dihydroxyanthraquinone to the anode and cathode, respectively, enhance both capacitance and energy density by ≈40 times compared to those of supercapacitor without redox additives. The fabricated supercapacitor on the Norland Optical Adhesive 63 polymer substrate retains 95.8% of its initial capacitance after 1000 repetitive bending cycles at a bending radius of 3.8 mm. Furthermore, the folded supercapacitor recovers its shape upon heating at 70 °C for 20 s. In addition, 90% of the initial capacitance is retained even after the 20th shape recovery from folding. The fabricated supercapacitor is used to drive integrated NO2 gas sensor on the same Norland Optical Adhesive 63 substrate attached onto skin to detect NO2 gas, regardless of deformation due to elbow movement.  相似文献

Carbon fiber-reinforced polymers, used in primary structures for aircraft due to an excellent strength-to-weight ratio when compared with conventional aluminium alloy counterparts, may nowadays be considered as mature structural materials. Their use has been extended in recent decades, with several aircraft manufacturers delivering fuselages entirely manufactured with carbon composites and using advanced processing technologies. However, one of the main drawbacks of using such composites entails their poor electrical conductivity when compared with aluminium alloy competitors that leads to lightning strikes being considered a significant threat during the service life of the aircraft. Traditionally, this problem was overcome with the use of a protective copper/bronze mesh that added additional weight and reduced the effectiveness of use of the material. Moreover, this traditional sizing method is based on vast experimental campaigns carried out by subjecting composite panels to simulated lightning strike events. While this method has proven its validity, and is necessary for certification of the structure, it may be optimized with the aid provided by physically based numerical models. This paper presents a model based on the finite element method that includes the sources of damage observed in a lightning strike, such as thermal damage caused by Joule overheating and electromagnetic/acoustic pressures induced by the arc around the attachment points. The results of the model are compared with lightning strike experiments carried out in a carbon woven composite.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of continuous and discrete state estimation for a class of linear switched systems with additive faults is studied. The class of systems under study can contain non‐minimum phase zeroes in some of their ‘operating modes’. The conditions for exact reconstruction of the discrete state are given using structural properties of the switched system. The state space is decomposed into the strongly observable part, the non‐strongly observable part, and the unobservable part, to analyze the effect of the unknown inputs. State observers based on high‐order sliding mode to exactly estimate the strongly observable part and Luenberger‐like observers to estimate the remaining parts are proposed. For the case when the exact estimation of the state cannot be achieved, the ultimate bounds on the estimation errors are provided. The proposed strategy includes a high‐order sliding‐mode‐based fault detection and a fault identification scheme via the solution of a Volterra integral equation. Fear memory helps animals and humans avoid harm from certain stimuli and coordinate adaptive behavior. However, excessive consolidation of fear memory, caused by the dysfunction of cellular mechanisms and neural circuits in the brain, is responsible for post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety-related disorders. Dysregulation of specific brain regions and neural circuits, particularly the hippocampus, amygdala, and medial prefrontal cortex, have been demonstrated in patients with these disorders. These regions are involved in learning, memory, consolidation, and extinction. These are also the brain regions where new neurons are generated and are crucial for memory formation and integration. Therefore, these three brain regions and neural circuits have contributed greatly to studies on neural plasticity and structural remodeling in patients with psychiatric disorders. In this review, we provide an understanding of fear memory and its underlying cellular mechanisms and describe how neural circuits are involved in fear memory. Additionally, we discuss therapeutic interventions for these disorders based on their proneurogenic efficacy and the neural circuits involved in fear memory.  相似文献

We report measurements of mean desorption areas per incident ion for hydrocarbon contaminated surfaces of different solids bombarded with 30 keV H2+, O+2, and Ar+ and 15 keV O+ ions. The results for heavy ions are consistent with a momentum transfer mechanism for desorption. A molecular effect is observed for O2+ ions which desorb significantly more than two separate O+ of the same velocity. Our results for hydrogen ions; together with results of other workers for low-energy light ions, lead us to the conclusion that desorption occurs efficiently in inelastic collisions.  相似文献

The error of the physical optics solution for the E-polarized plane wave incidence in connection with diffraction by an arbitrary-angled dielectric wedge is corrected by calculating the nonuniform current distributed along the dielectric interfaces. Two kinds of series expansions to the nonuniform current are employed. One is an asymptotic expansion as the multipole line source located at the edge of the dielectric wedge, since the correction field seems to be a cylindrical wave emanating from the edge in the far-field region. The other is arbitrary electric and magnetic surface currents expanded by infinite series of the Bessel functions, i.e. the Neumann expansion, of which fractional order is chosen to satisfy the edge condition near the edge of the dielectric wedge in the static limit. Both of the two different expansion coefficients for a wedge angle of 45°, relative dielectric constants 2, 10, and 100, and the E-polarized incident angle of 150° are evaluated by solving the dual series equation numerically after finite truncation  相似文献

The neutral lipids composition of defatted chickpea flour and two types of protein isolates has been studied. The main compounds in neutral lipids are triacylglycerols, free fatty acids, and diacylglycerols. Other compounds present are wax esters, free fatty alcohols, and free sterols. The main fatty acids in neutral lipids are C18:2 and C18:1 among the unsaturated, and C16:0 and C18:0 among the saturated acids. Free and esterified alcohols range from C16:0 to C28:0, the majority being those with an even number of carbon atoms. Sterols observed are β-sito-sterol, campesterol, stigmasterol, and δ-5-avenasterol. Triacyl-glycerols are partially hydrolyzed, and the amounts of unsaturated sterols and unsaturated fatty acids are reduced as a result of the chemical treatment during production of the protein isolates.  相似文献
