The kinetics of hydrocarbon synthesis over sulfide-based catalysts was studied. It appears that the formation of methane follows another reaction path than that of higher hydrocarbons. This might explain the very high selectivities for ethane and propane as compared with conventional Fischer-Tropsch catalysts. At Luleå University of Technology, research is taking place in the area of plate bonding, i.e. when concrete members are strengthened by bonding steel or fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) plates to their surface. The research work started in 1988. Both comprehensive experimental work and theoretical work have been performed. This paper presents the results of tests performed on concrete prisms onto which steel or carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) plates have been bonded. The criteria for the necessary anchor lengths for both the materials are presented as well as the critical strain level in the concrete at failure. Tests are compared with the Volkerson theory for lap joints. The results from the tests show that there is a specific anchor length for each material used. The tests also show that the strain limit in the concrete is the governing factor for failure. Furthermore, a compression between test and theory shows that the derived elastic theory can be used for moderate levels of load.  相似文献

Summary New types of comb-shaped polyesters have been prepared by transesterification of 2,2-dioctadecyl-1,3-propanediol and the three isomeric diphenyl phthalates. Intrinsic viscosity and SEC analyses allowed determination of DPs (60–89) and molar masses; results compare well with absolute average weight molar masses (56,000–118,000) determined by low-angle laser light scattering. High-resolution 13C NMR reveals the characteristic aromatic and glycol polyester patterns; it resolves many side-chain methylene carbons, but shows no evidence of end-groups. All the polyesters are crystalline as shown by X-ray diffractometry and DSC, the crystallinity being exclusively due to the octadecyl side-group crystallization in the hexagonal form. The results indicate that the crystallinity decreases substantially when going from the ortho- to the terephthalate polyester.  相似文献

The influence of the linoleic acid levels of diets containing partially hydrogenated marine, oils (HMO) rich in isomeric 16∶1, 18∶1, 20∶1 and 22∶1 fatty acids on the fatty acid profiles of lipids from rat liver, heart and adipose tissue was examined. Five groups of rats were fed diets containing 20 wt% fat−16% HMO+4% vegetable oils. In these diets, the linoleic acid contents varied between 1.9% and 14.5% of the dietary fatty acids, whereas the contents oftrans fatty acids were 33% in all groups. A sixth group was fed a partially hydrogenated soybean oil (HSOY) diet containing 8% linoleic acid plus 32%trans fatty acids, mainly 18∶1, and a seventh group, 20% palm oil (PALM), with 10% linoleic acid and notrans fatty acids. As the level of linoleic acid in the HMO diets increased from 1.9% to 8.2%, the contents of (n−6) polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in the phospholipids increased correspondingly. At this dietary level of linoleic acid, a plateau in (n−6) PUFA was reached that was not affected by further increase in dietary 18∶2(n−6) up to 14.5%. Compared with the HSOY- or PALM-fed rats, the plateau value of 20∶4(n−6) were considerably lower and the contents of 18∶2(n−6) higher in liver phosphatidylcholines (PC) and heart PC. Heart phosphatidylethanolamines (PE) on the contrary, had elevated contents of 20∶4(n−6), but decreased 22∶5(n−6) compared with the PALM group. All groups fed HMO had similar contents oftrans fatty acids, mainly 16∶1 and 18∶1, in their phospholipids, irrespective of the dietary 18∶2 levels, and these contents were lower than in the HSOY group. High levels of linoleic acid consistently found in triglycerides of liver, heart and adipose tissue of rats fed HMO indicated that feeding HMO resulted in a reduction of the conversion of linoleic acid into long chain PUFA that could not be overcome by increasing the dietary level of linoleic acid.  相似文献

The antioxidative effects of spermine, spermidine and putrescine were determined by measurement of primary and secondary oxidation products of polyunsaturated fatty acids, using gas and liquid chromatography as well as spectrophotometric recordings. It was demonstrated that polyamines inhibit the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids,α-tocopherol and carotenoid pigments. Both linear and nonlinear dose/response relationships have been observed. The efficiency of a given polyamine was correlated with the number of amine groups in the molecule. Spermine was, thus, more efficient than spermidine, which in turn had a higher efficiency than putrescine. The relative antioxidative effect was as follows: spermine (100.0), spermidine (61.0), putrescine (23.0), ethoxyquin (27.6), ascorbyl palmitate (18.3), octyl gallate (7.9), tert butylhydroquinone (6.3), butylated hydroxyanisole (3.6) andα-tocopherol (3.4).  相似文献

The enantiomeric composition of seven monoterpene hydrocarbons in headspace volatiles of spruce sawdust and seedlings (Picea abies), pine seedlings (Pinus sylvestris), and branches of juniper (Juniperus communis) was determined by gas chromatographic separation on a -Cyclodextrin column. For the six monoterpenes, -pinene, camphene, -pinene, sabinene, limonene, and -phellandrene, both enantiomers were present, whereas for 3-carene only the (+)-configuration was found. The amount of each enantiomer varied considerably both in relation to total amount of all of them, and for the six pairs also in relation to the opposite enantiomer. One olfactory receptor neuron in the pine weevil (Hylobius abietis) showed a strong response to -pinene when stimulated with all four headspace materials via a GC equipped with a DB-WAX column. The same neuron was subsequently tested with repeated stimulations via the GC effluent containing the (+)- or (–)-enantiomer. A marked better response to (+)- than to (–)--pinene was elicited. Another olfactory receptor neuron that responded strongly to limonene when stimulated with the spruce volatiles was tested for enantiomers of limonene. This neuron responded more strongly to (–)- than to (+)-limonene, when stimulated alternately with each of the limonene enantiomers. Discrimination between enantiomers by plant olfactory receptor neurons suggests that the enantiomeric ratios of volatile compounds may be important in host location by the pine weevil.  相似文献

Repeated administration of highly purified eicosapentaenoic acid (as ethyl ester) resulted in a decrease in plasma triglycerides and high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. This was accompanied by a stimulation in the activities of carnitine palmitoyltransferase, fatty acyl-CoA oxidase and peroxisomal β-oxidation in the liver. The results suggest that the triglyceride-lowering effect observed with eicosapentaenoic acid may be due to a reduced supply of fatty acids for hepatic triglyceride synthesis because of increased fatty acid oxidation. Eicosapentaenoic acid feeding marginally affected the triglyceride content of heart and mitochondrial and peroxisomal enzyme activities.  相似文献

The development of early colour and the dehydrochlorination rate were compared for poly(vinyl chloride) samples obtained by suspension polymerization using two different initiators, dicetylperoxydicarbonate and butylperoxyneodecanoate. The degree of discolouration was measured on pressed plates and expressed as yellowness index (YI), the polyene sequence distribution was monitored by UV/Vis-spectroscopy, and the degradation rate was determined by measuring evolved HCI conductometrically. The PVC sample initiated by dicetylperoxydicarbonate exhibited more extensive early colour and a higher dehydrochlorination rate as compared to the sample obtained with butylperoxyneodecanoate as initiator. The UV/Vis-spectra showed that the early colour originates from polyene sequences. After extraction of the PVC resins with heptane: acetone (85 : 15) the early colour turned out to be almost the same for the two samples. From 13C-NMR measurements it was found that the extract of the sample polymerized with dicetylperoxydicarbonate contains unreacted initiator. We suggest that the radicals formed when the remaining initiator decomposes initiate dehydrochlorination. Our results also indicate that radicals from dicetylperoxydicarbonate may cause long-chain branches during polymerization. The radicals formed from butylperoxyneodecanoate, on the other hand, do not seem to react with the polymer molecules. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Micro-mesoporous aluminosilicates based on ZSM-5 zeolite, obtained by a dual template method, as well as in the presence of a dual-functional template (i.e. a Gemini-type surfactant), were tested in the oxidation of furfural with hydrogen peroxide. Even substantial changes in acidity and porosity of the catalysts result in minor variations of selectivity towards the desired products. Application of the synthesized zeolite-based materials in the oxidation of furfural with hydrogen peroxide leads to formation of 2(5H)-furanone (yield up to 28.5%) and succinic acid (up to 19.5%) as the main C4 reaction products. The kinetic model developed previously to treat the results for oxidation of furfural over sulfated zirconia was able to describe the data also for micro-mesoporous aluminosilicates.

Abstract

For the purpose of silica surface layer modulation, a pneumatic-controlled two-substance atomizer with inertia-based coarse droplet separation was operated at different system pressures for tetraethyl orthosilicate precursor aerosol supply during combustion chemical vapor deposition. A comprehensive testing study was performed to characterize the atomizer’s performance characteristics, initial precursor aerosols at the atomizer’s outlet, transformed aerosols before combustion, combustion aerosols and formed layers. Laser diffraction spectrometry, differential electrical mobility analyses and condensation particle counting were used for aerosol characterization with regard to particle size and particle production quantities. Layers were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, spectral ellipsometry, water contact angle measurements and light transmission concerning geometric properties (thickness, surface structure and roughness) and physical behaviors (i.e., optical behaviors, hydrophobicity). Results show a quasi-linear relationship of the ejection mass flow of the pneumatic-controlled atomizer and geometric layer properties which again show a direct relationship to the physical properties. No correlation was found between the aerosols before combustion and the combustion aerosols since the majority of combustion aerosol particles are synthesized solely from the gas phase based on evaporated precursor material.
