This paper focuses on cell loading and family scheduling in a cellular manufacturing environment. The performance measure is minimising the maximum tardiness of jobs. What separates this study from others is the presence of individual due dates for every job in a family and also allowing family splitting among cells. Three methods are examined in order to solve this problem, namely mathematical modelling, genetic algorithms (GA) and heuristics. The results showed that GA is capable of finding the optimal solution with varying frequency of 60–100% and it is efficient as compared to the mathematical modelling especially for larger problems in terms of execution times. The heuristics, on the other hand, were easy to implement but they could not find the optimal solution. The results of experimentation also showed that family splitting was observed in all multi-cell optimal solutions and therefore it can be concluded that family splitting is a good strategy for the problem considered in this paper.  相似文献

A numerical formulation for the nonlinear quasi-viscoelastic (creep and shrinkage) analysis of steel-concrete composite beams that are curved in their plan is developed. The creep behavior of the concrete is considered by using the viscoelastic Maxwell-Weichert?model, in which the aging effect of the concrete is taken into account. Geometric nonlinearities and the partial shear interaction that exist at the deck-girder interface in the tangential (or longitudinal) direction and in the radial (or horizontal) direction owing to the flexibility of the shear connectors are considered in the strain-displacement relationship. The modeling based on the developed formulation is validated by comparisons with available results reported in the literature. The effects of initial curvature, partial interaction, and geometric nonlinearity on the time-dependent behavior of curved composite beams are illustrated in selected examples.  相似文献

Wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs) have an increasing variety of multimedia‐based applications including image and video transmission. In these types of applications, multimedia sensor nodes should ideally maximize perceptual quality and minimize energy expenditures in communication. For the required perceptual quality to be obtained, quality‐aware routing is a key research area in WMSNs. However, mapping the system parameters to the end user's perceptual quality‐of‐service measures is a challenging task because of incomplete identification metrics. Unfortunately, unless disputable assumptions and simplifications are made, optimal routing algorithm is not tractable. In this paper, we propose a novel image transmission framework to optimize both perceptual quality and energy expenditure in WMSNs. Our framework aims to provide acceptable perceptual quality at the end user by using an analytical distortion prediction model that is able to predict the image distortion resulting from any given error pattern. The innovation of the proposed scheme lies in the combined use of a content‐aware packet prioritization with an energy‐aware and quality‐aware routing protocol, named as image quality‐aware routing. Additionally, it does not only propose an energy‐efficient route selection policy but also manages the network load according to the energy residues of nodes, thus leading to a great energy economy. A new low band gap electrochromic polymer containing of 3-(2,5-di-2-thienyl-1H-pyrrol-1-yl)-9-ethyl-9H-carbazole (SNSC) and 2,1,3-benzoselenadiazole (BSe) moiety has been reported. Structural identification of initial compounds and product were carried out by using FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy results. The resulting polymer, poly(SNSC-BSe), was completely soluble in various common organic solvents and its weight-average molecular weight (Mw) were 9420 (PDI: 1.22). According to AFM results, the RMS (root mean surface) roughness of poly-(SNSC-BSe) was found to be 48.6 nm. Besides, the thermogravimetric analysis presented that the poly(SNSC-BSe) is moderately stable against to thermal effect with the initial degradation temperature at 182 °C. The lowest energy transition band maxima of poly(SNSC-BSe) was 498 nm in thin film and the optical band gap calculated from the onset wavelength of the optical absorption was 1.77 eV. On the other hand, the electrochemical band gap calculated from oxidation and reduction onset values was 1.60 eV, respectively. Finally, the electrochromic performance of the polymer film represents a high contrast ratio in the NIR region (51%), fast response time of about 1 s, high coloration efficiency (274 cm2 C−1) and retained its performance by 94.6% even after 1000 cycles.  相似文献

In this article, urease was immobilized in a conducting network via complexation of poly(1‐vinyl imidazole) (PVI) with poly(2‐acrylamido‐2‐methyl‐1‐propanesulfonic acid) (PAMPS). The preparation method for the polymer network was adjusted by using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) study revealed that enzyme immobilization had a strong effect on film morphology. The proton conductivity of the PVI/PAMPS network was measured via impedance spectroscopy, under humidified conditions. The basic characteristics (Michealis‐Menten constants, pHopt, pHstability, Topt, Tstability, reusability, and storage stability) of the immobilized urease were determined. In this study, starch‐based hybrid electrospun nanofiber meshes were fabricated by electrospinning. Spinning solutions were prepared by mixing starch and certain amounts of poly(ethylene‐alt‐maleic anhydride). Starch‐based nanofiber meshes became insoluble in water with thermal‐induced esterification of hydroxyl groups onto starch backbone. Morphologic and structure analysis of the electrospun nanofiber meshes were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) techniques. Thermal properties of nanofiber meshes were characterized by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Thermal stability of nanofiber meshes were increased with formation of intermolecular bonds between starch and poly(ethylene‐alt‐maleic anhydride). POLYM. Glass transition of rainbow trout muscle was measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) as ?13°C. Sucrose and sorbitol (2, 2), sucrose and mannitol (2, 2), sucrose and gum arabic (2, 0.15), sucrose and carrageenan (2, 0.15), sorbitol and mannitol (2, 2), sorbitol and gum arabic (2, 0.15), sorbitol and carrageenan (2, 0.15), mannitol and gum arabic (2, 0.15) and mannitol and carrageenan (2, 0.15) were blended with ground rainbow trout as g/100 g fish and stored for 6 months separately at ?9°C, ?13°C and ?18°C. Total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N) and Thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) were determined at 1st, 3rd and 6th months of storage periods. Biopolymers blends, storage temperature and storage period had a significant effect (p < 0.05) on the TVB-N and TBARS values.  相似文献

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare two different acetylation mechanisms using acetic anhydride (AA) or vinyl acetate (VA) modification with using various catalysts. Acetylation of Scots pine wood flour with acetic anhydride could be significantly improved in the presence of potassium acetate, potassium carbonate, and sodium carbonate at 100°C. Sodium carbonate had low effect on VA acetylation, potassium acetate was found to be more effective, and potassium carbonate was better for vinyl acetate modification of wood flour. The two modification methods and the effect of different catalysts on AA or VA modification were characterized by infrared and NMR spectra and analyzed in detail. The acetylation of Scots pine flour with VA and AA showed almost the same WPG values for catalysts when based on long reaction times.  相似文献

Direct-sequence code-division multiple access is emerging as a potential multiple-access communication scheme for future digital wireless communications systems. Such wide-band systems usually operate in a frequency-selective fading channel that introduces intersymbol interference and thus potential performance degradation. Previously proposed subspace-based blind channel identification algorithms, which provide estimates of channel parameters for effective equalization, suffer from high numerical complexity for systems with large spreading gains. In this paper, it is shown that, through the use of matched filter outputs, reduction in numerical complexity can be obtained. The complexity reduction is considerable when the channel length is small and the system is moderately loaded. The results show that the new algorithm suffers a slight performance loss. Although the employed matched filter outputs do not form a set of sufficient statistics for the unknown channels, the difference between the matched filter outputs and the sufficient statistics becomes negligible for large observation lengths and the asymptotic normalized Fisher information does not change. Performance is evaluated through simulations, the derivation of a tight approximation of the mean-squared channel estimation error, and through comparisons to the Cramer-Rao bound for the estimation error variance. It is shown that the approximation of the mean-squared error can be obtained in terms of the correlation of the spreading codes and the channels. This study presents earthquake performance analysis of the Torul Concrete-Faced Rockfill (CFR) Dam with two-dimensional dam-soil and dam-soil-reservoir finite element models. The Lagrangian approach was used with fluid elements to model impounded water. The interface elements were used to simulate the slippage between the concrete face slab and the rockfill. The horizontal component of the 1992 Erzincan earthquake, with a peak ground acceleration of 0.515g, was considered in time-history analysis. The Drucker-Prager model was preferred in nonlinear analysis of the concrete slab, rockfill and foundation soil. The maximum principal stresses and the maximum displacements in two opposite directions were compared by the height of the concrete slab according to linear time-history analysis to reveal the effect of reservoir water. The changes of critical displacements and principal stresses with time are also shown in this paper. According to linear and nonlinear time-history analysis, the effect of the reservoir water on the earthquake performance of the Torul CFR Dam was investigated and the possible damage situation was examined. The results show that the hydrodynamic pressure of reservoir water leads to an increase in the maximum displacements and principal stresses of the dam and reduces the earthquake performance of the dam. Although the linear time-history analysis demonstrates that the earthquake causes a momentous damage to the concrete slab of the Torul CFR Dam, the nonlinear time-history analysis shows that no evident damage occurs in either reservoir case.  相似文献
