Submicron core‐shell polymer particles, with molecularly imprinted shells, were prepared by a two‐stage polymerization process. Particles of this type, prepared with a cholesterol‐imprinted ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate shell and in the absence of porogen, were found to be 76 nm in diameter with a surface area of 82 m2 g−1. Cholesterol uptake from a 1 mM solution in isohexane was measured at both 10 and 30 mg mL−1, with the imprinted polymer showing considerable binding (up to 57%). Imprinted but not hydrolyzed and hydrolyzed nonimprinted polymers showed very low uptakes (≤4.5%) and a phenol‐imprinted polymer showed reduced binding (36%) under the same conditions. Imprinted shells were also prepared over superparamagnetic polymer cores and over magnetite ferrocolloid alone. The cholesterol binding to magnetic particles was very similar to that of equivalent nonmagnetic materials. For the past several decades, humanity has been dealing with HIV. This disease is one of the biggest global health problems. Fortunately, modern antiretroviral therapy allows patients to manage the disease, improving their quality of life and their life expectancy. In addition, the use of these drugs makes it possible to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus to almost zero. Atherosclerosis is another serious pathology that leads to severe health problems, including disability and, often, the death of the patient. An effective treatment for atherosclerosis has not yet been developed. Both types of immune response, innate and adaptive, are important components of the pathogenesis of this disease. In this regard, the peculiarities of the development of atherosclerosis in HIV carriers are of particular scientific interest. In this review, we have tried to summarize the data on atherosclerosis and its development in HIV carriers. We also looked at the classic therapeutic methods and their features concerning the concomitant diagnosis.  相似文献

Atherosclerosis has been known in medicine for several centuries. As early as 1755, the Swedish anatomist Albrecht von Haller used the term “atheroma” to describe vascular lesions. Atherosclerosis may originate from an unbalanced diet or bad habits, and is mainly found in developed countries. Clinical trials have been conducted to establish the causes of atherosclerosis, and also to develop treatments for this disease. However, prevention of the disease has always been better than treatment, so vaccination may be the key to saving thousands of lives. The creation of a vaccine may be directly related to the study of autoimmune processes occurring in the body, immunity. This review considers the issues related to the involvement of the immune response in the development of atherosclerotic lesions. Modern concepts of atherogenesis, immune inflammation in atherosclerosis, and potential vaccine targets are also discussed. There is a particular focus on experimental and clinical data supporting the development of immune therapies to reduce cardiovascular risk.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to verify the applicability of high-concentration collagen-based bioink with MSC (ADSC) and decellularized ECM granules for the formation of cartilage tissue de novo after subcutaneous implantation of the scaffolds in rats. The printability of the bioink (4% collagen, 2.5% decellularized ECM granules, derived via 280 μm sieve) was shown. Three collagen-based compositions were studied: (1) with ECM; (2) with MSC; (3) with ECM and MSC. It has been established that decellularized ECM granules are able to stimulate chondrogenesis both in cell-free and MSC-laden scaffolds. Undesirable effects have been identified: bone formation as well as cartilage formation outside of the scaffold area. The key perspectives and limitations of ECM granules (powder) application have been discussed.  相似文献

Superconducting boron-doped diamond samples were synthesized with isotopes of 10B, 11B, 13C and 12C. We claim the presence of a carbon isotope effect on the superconducting transition temperature, which supports the ‘diamond-carbon’-related nature of superconductivity and the importance of the electron–phonon interaction as the mechanism of superconductivity in diamond. Isotope substitution permits us to relate almost all bands in the Raman spectra of heavily boron-doped diamond to the vibrations of carbon atoms. The 500 cm−1 Raman band shifts with either carbon or boron isotope substitution and may be associated with vibrations of paired or clustered boron. The absence of a superconducting transition (down to 1.6 K) in diamonds synthesized in the Co–C–B system at 1900 K correlates with the small boron concentration deduced from lattice parameters.  相似文献

A simple and flexible chemoenzymatic route for the preparation of a wide range of dimeric (gemini) and trimeric mono- and disaccharide-based surfactants was developed. The synthesis relies on the use of enzymes for regioselective introduction of fatty acids into carbohydrate moieties. Several structures were prepared containing xylose, glucose, galactose, and lactose, connected via different hydroxyl groups in the sugar molecules or, alternatively, via the OH group of 2-hydroxytet-radecanoic acid used as a hydrophobic moiety for the surfactant.  相似文献

The differential theory of diffraction of light by an arbitrary object described in spherical coordinates is developed. Expanding the fields on the basis of vector spherical harmonics, we reduce the Maxwell equations to an infinite first-order differential set. In view of the truncation required for numerical integration, correct factorization rules are derived to express the components of D in terms of the components of E, a process that extends the fast Fourier factorization to the basis of vector spherical harmonics. Numerical overflows and instabilities are avoided through the use of the S-matrix propagation algorithm for carrying out the numerical integration. The method can analyze any shape and/or material, dielectric or conducting. It is particularly simple when applied to rotationally symmetric objects.  相似文献

The diffraction of light by a single subwavelength hole in a highly conductive metallic sheet is analyzed with a recently developed differential theory that is able to plot the nearly electromagnetic field. Using rigorous electromagnetic and phenomenological analysis, we show that a single subwavelength hole can excite surface-plasmon resonance that contributes greatly to extraordinary transmission.  相似文献

Covering arrays can be applied to the testing of software, hardware and advanced materials, and to the effects of hormone interaction on gene expression. In this paper we develop constraint programming models of the problem of finding an optimal covering array. Our models exploit global constraints, multiple viewpoints and symmetry-breaking constraints. We show that compound variables, representing tuples of variables in our original model, allow the constraints of this problem to be represented more easily and hence propagate better. With our best integrated model, we are able to either prove the optimality of existing bounds or find new optimal solutions, for arrays of moderate size. Local search on a SAT-encoding of the model is able to find improved solutions and bounds for larger problems.  相似文献
