Organic–inorganic hybrid coatings on glass substrates with superhydrophobic properties and with improved scratch resistance were obtained by means of applying a multilayer approach including multiple sol–gel processes. The coatings exhibited a water contact angle (WCA) higher than 150°. Ultraviolet (UV)-curable vinyl ester resins and vinyltriethoxysilane (VTEOS) as coupling agent were employed to increase the adhesion between substrate and the inorganic layers. The surfaces were characterized by means of dynamic contact angle and roughness measurements. Indeed, the occurrence of superhydrophobic behavior was observed. The scratch resistance of the hybrid coatings was tested to evaluate the adhesion of the coatings to the glass substrate. The proposed preparation method for scratch resistant, mechanically stable, superhydrophobic coatings is simple and can be applied on large areas of different kinds of substrates.  相似文献

Defects of the peripheral nervous system are extremely frequent in trauma and surgeries and have high socioeconomic costs. If the direct suture of a lesion is not possible, i.e., nerve gap > 2 cm, it is necessary to use grafts. While the gold standard is the autograft, it has disadvantages related to its harvesting, with an inevitable functional deficit and further morbidity. An alternative to autografting is represented by the acellular nerve allograft (ANA), which avoids disadvantages of autograft harvesting and fresh allograft rejection. In this research, the authors intend to transfer to human nerves a novel technique, previously implemented in animal models, to decellularize nerves. The new method is based on soaking the nerve tissues in decellularizing solutions while associating ultrasounds and freeze–thaw cycles. It is performed without interrupting the sterility chain, so that the new graft may not require post-production γ-ray irradiation, which is suspected to affect the structural and functional quality of tissues. The new method is rapid, safe, and inexpensive if compared with available commercial ANAs. Histology and immunohistochemistry have been adopted to evaluate the new decellularized nerves. The study shows that the new method can be applied to human nerve samples, obtaining similar, and, sometimes better, results compared with the chosen control method, the Hudson technique.  相似文献

We describe a method to characterize spatial or temporal changes in the optical properties of turbid media using diffuse reflectance images acquired under broad-beam illumination conditions. We performed experiments on liquid phantoms whose absorption (mu(a)) and reduced scattering (mu(s)') coefficients were representative of those of biological tissues in the near infrared. We found that the relative diffuse reflectance R depends on mu(a) and mu(s)' only through the ratio mu(a)/mu(s)' and that dependence can be well described with an analytical expression previously reported in the literature [S. L. Jacques, Kluwer Academic Dordrecht (1996)]. We have found that this expression for R deviates from experimental values by no more than 8% for various illumination and detection angles within the range 0 degrees-30 degrees. Therefore, this analytical expression for R holds with good approximation even if the investigated medium presents curved or irregular surfaces. Using this expression, it is possible to translate spatial or temporal changes in the relative diffuse reflectance from a turbid medium into quantitative estimates of the corresponding changes of (mu(a)/mu(s)')(1/2). In the case of media with optical properties similar to those of tissue in the near infrared, we found that the changes mu(a)/mu(s)' should occur over a volume approximately 2 mm deep and 4 mm x 4 mm wide to apply this expression.  相似文献

We previously reported that, during the reactions to make nanocrystals of HfO2 and Hf‐rich HfxZr1 – xO2, a tetragonal‐to‐monoclinic phase transformation occurs that is accompanied by a shape change of the particles (faceted spherical to nanorods) when the temperature at which the reaction is conducted is changed from 340 to 400 °C. We now conclude that this concomitant phase and shape change is a result of the martensitic transformation of isolated nanocrystals in a hot liquid, where twinning plays a crucial role in accommodating the shape‐change‐induced strain. That such change was not observed during the reactions forming ZrO2 and Zr‐rich HfxZr1 – xO2 nanocrystals is attributed to the higher driving force needed in those instances compared to that needed for producing HfO2 and Hf‐rich HfxZr1 – xO2 nanocrystals. We also report here the post‐synthesis, heat‐induced phase transformation of HfxZr1 – xO2 (0 < x < 1) nanocrystals. As temperature increases, all the tetragonal nanocrystals transform to the monoclinic phase accompanied by an increase in particle size (as evidenced by X‐ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy), which confirms that there is a critical size for the phase transformation to occur. When the monoclinic nanorods are heated above a certain temperature the grains grow considerably; under certain conditions a small amount of tetragonal phase appears.  相似文献

A newly developed magnetic regenerator material Er(Ni0.075Co0.925)2, having high specific heat at temperatures from 10 to 20 K, has been tested inside the second regenerator of a two-stage GM cryocooler. Different working conditions have been examined: four Er(Ni0.075Co0.925)2/Pb material ratios, three displacer reciprocating speeds, and two cryocooler stroke lengths. In the best working conditions, the experimental results show a cooling power improvement up to 15% over the whole temperature range from 10 to 20 K compared to that of the same GM cryocooler employing only lead.  相似文献

The control of gelato powder mixture production usually is carried out evaluating the gelato liquid phase. The rheological measurements from the present study were conduced on gelato unfrozen liquid phase in order to indirectly evaluate its rheological properties by FT-NIR spectroscopy applied on gelato powders. The calibration set was composed by samples obtained from different recipes having increasing percentage of thickeners, maintaining the proportions of the others compounds constant. After the NIR acquisitions the powders were mixed with warm milk, blended and than settled in order to obtain the unfrozen liquid phase needed for the rheological measurements. For each of the 60 tested recipes three batches with the same thickeners concentration were prepared. The flow curves were obtained with a rotational viscosimeter and were evaluated by using the Ostwald de Waele’s equation and the goodness of fit was evaluated by the R2, which was above 0.95. Predictive models of rheological parameters were set up by means of PLS regressions in order to predict the apparent viscosity (η), the consistency coefficient (K) and the flow behaviour index (n) from spectral acquisitions. A high correlation of calibration was found between NIR spectra and apparent viscosity with R2 of 0.943. A good correlation was also found between the NIR spectra and the consistency coefficient (K) and flow behaviour index (n), with a determination coefficient (R2) of 0.895 and 0.874, respectively.The good prediction of the models encourages applying them to reduce significantly the time of the powder mixing control during production.  相似文献

A multilayer solid state device which is both an active target and tracking detector is proposed for an electronic experiment investigating the so-called anomalons and studying their production mechanism, interaction cross-section and lifetime. The experimental method is based on triggering the reinteractions in two targets of heavy fragments, originated in a production target by a relativistic ion beam. This method greatly increases the sensitivity to the anomalon's effect when compared to other proposed electronic experiments. Solid state devices seem to provide a resolving technique for the study of these short-lived states among high-multiplicity final systems.  相似文献
