We developed a simple, rapid and highly efficient flame synthesis method for direct growing carbon nanofibers (CNFs) on carbon paper (CP) using a common laboratory ethanol flame as both heat and carbon sources. High density CNFs with tangled solid-cored structure were uniformly formed over the Ni-plated CP surface in ∼20 s. The morphologies of the CNFs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. X-ray diffraction study revealed the graphitic nature of the CNFs. Raman spectroscopy analysis confirmed that the CNFs are disordered graphitic nanocrystallites with high degree of exposed edges. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry were used to show that growing CNFs directly on CP facilitates electron transfer with concomitant increase in double-layer capacitance. The CNF/CP was used as support for Pt nanoparticles to study their supporting effect on the catalyst performance. The as prepared Pt/CNF electrocatalyst exhibited much improved electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation compared to Pt/CP and commercial Pt/C on CP. High electronic conductivity and improved electrochemical behavior of the CNF/CPs, resulted from direct contact of the nanofibers with CP, combined with unique properties of CNFs, make the synthesized CNF/CPs promising for fuel cell applications.  相似文献

Tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) a thrombolytic agent is commonly used for digesting the blood clot. tPA half‐life is low (4–6 min) and its administration needs a prolonged continuous infusion. Improving tPA half‐life could reduce enzyme dosage and enhance patient compliance. Nano‐carries could be used as delivery systems for the protection of enzymes physically, enhancing half‐life and increasing the stability of them. In this study, chitosan (CS) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) were used for the preparation of CS‐g‐PEG/tPA nanoparticles (NPs) via the ion gelation method. Particles’ size and loading capacity were optimised by central composite design. Then, NPs cytotoxicity, release profile, enzyme activity and in vivo half‐life and coagulation time were investigated. The results showed that NPs does not have significant cytotoxicity. Release study revealed that a burst effect happened in the first 5 min and resulted in releasing 30% of tPA. Loading tPA in NPs could decrease 25% of its activity but the half‐life of it increases in comparison to free tPA in vivo. Also, blood coagulation time has significantly affected (p ‐value = 0.041) by encapsulated tPA in comparison to free tPA. Based on the active coupled line concept, a novel approach for calculating the noise performance of microwave/mm-wave field-effect transistors (FETs) is proposed. The voltage and current Green's functions are introduced to determine the correlation matrix of the FET. Some results using this approach have been presented for a microwave MESFET.  相似文献

High diagnostic sensitivity and specificity while maintaining the least dose to the patient is the ideal mammography. The objective of this work was to evaluate patient dose and image quality of mammograms to propose corrective actions. The image quality for 1242 patient in 7 mammography facilities in Tehran city was evaluated based on selected image quality criteria using a three-point scale. Clinical image quality, the entrance surface air kerma, the average glandular dose and optical density of films for standard PMMA phantom of 4.5 cm thickness were evaluated. The results showed that up to 72 % of mammograms were in good condition to be diagnosed, and only about 3.4 % of the images were unacceptable or with suboptimal quality. The entrance surface air kerma values were in the range of 3.8-10.5 mGy, average glandular dose 0.5-1.8 mGy and optical density of films 0.74-2.03. The image quality evaluation after correction actions, periodic image quality evaluation and using the correct equipment certainly will improve patient dose.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to assess the remineralization of enamel caries lesions using the self-assembling peptide P11-4 associated with different materials. Artificial early enamel lesions were prepared on 154 primary teeth. The samples were randomly divided into eight groups: (1) control, (2) P11-4, (3) fluoridate toothpaste (FT), (4) P11-4 + FT, (5) casein phosphopeptide–amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP–ACP), (6) P11-4 + CPP–ACP, (7) fluoridate bioactive glass toothpaste (BT), and (8) P11-4 + BT. The surface enamel microhardness (EMH) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) of the teeth were then measured at the baseline, after demineralization, and after 28 days of remineralization. The enamel surfaces were assessed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The data were analyzed with one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) (p < .05). EMH after demineralization was significantly lower than the baseline value (p < .001). The interventions led to an enhanced percentage of EMH recovery (%REMH), which was higher in Groups 6 and 7. There was no significant difference between Groups 3 and 4. Groups 1 and 2 had the lowest %REMH. The mean calcium/phosphate weight percentage ratio of P11-4 was significantly lower than the others (p < .001). The FESEM and AFM images revealed mineral deposition on the eroded enamel and reductions in surface roughness in Groups 5 and 7.  相似文献

Dead Azolla filiculoides can remove Pb(2+),Cd(2+), Ni(2+) and Zn(2+) corresponding to second-order kinetic model. The maximum adsorption capacity (Q(max)) to remove these metal ions by the alkali and CaCl(2)/MgCl(2)/NaCl (2:1:1, molar ratio) activated Azolla from 283 to 313K was 1.431-1.272, 1.173-0.990, 1.365-1.198 and 1.291-0.981mmol/g dry biomass, respectively. Q(max) to remove these heavy metals by the non-activated Azolla at the mentioned temperature range was obtained 1.131-0.977, 1.092-0.921, 1.212-0.931 and 1.103-0.923mmol/g dry biomass, respectively. In order to remove these metal ions by the activated Azolla, the enthalpy change (DeltaH) was -4.403, -4.495, -4.557 and -4.365kcal/mol and the entropy change (DeltaS) was 2.290, 1.268, 1.745 and 1.006cal/molK, respectively. While, to remove these metal ions by the non-activated Azolla, DeltaH was -3.685, -3.766, -3.967 and -3.731kcal/mol and DeltaS was 2.440, 1.265, 1.036 and 0.933cal/molK, respectively. On the other hand, the living Azolla removed these heavy metals corresponding to first-order kinetic model. It was also shown that pH, temperature and photoperiod were effective both on the rate of Azolla growth and the rate of heavy metals uptake during 10 days. It was appeared the use of Ca(NO(3))(2) increased both Azolla growth rate and the rate of heavy metals uptake while the using KNO(3) although increased Azolla growth rate but decreased the rate of heavy metals uptake.  相似文献

In this study, aminopropyl trimethoxysilane as an interfacial modifier was introduced on the surface of graphene (Gr) nanoplatelets. The effects of the silane-modified graphene (SGr) loading (0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt %) and silane modification on the tensile, compressive, interlaminar shear stress (ILSS), and tribological properties of the epoxy-based nanocomposites were investigated. Out of these specimens, the highest values of ILSS and compressive strength were related to the 0.3 wt % SGr–epoxy nanocomposite. The addition of SGr enhanced the tensile strength and strain to failure only at low contents (i.e., 0.05 wt %). Also, the tensile and compressive moduli were improved, and the highest values were observed at a 0.5 wt % SGr loading. In addition, decreases of approximately 40 and 68% in the coefficient of friction and wear rate, respectively, were observed at a 0.3 wt % SGr loading. Enhanced tensile, compressive, ILSS, and wear properties in the SGr–epoxy specimens were observed compared to those in the Gr–epoxy specimens. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. The adsorption measurement of various substances in presence of the reservoir minerals has been investigated in the last few years to describe the existing phenomena in the oil and gas energy-related sectors. However, there still needs further research to understand pure water adsorption behavior on reservoir minerals as the fundamental study. In this study, molecular dynamics simulation was carried out to investigate the adsorption behavior of water molecules on the surface of minerals. In this matter, composite integrated layers were built for quartz-water and calcite-water systems to conduct water adsorption calculations from ambient temperature to the reservoir temperature. Results illustrated less amount of water adsorption on quartz; however, the hydrophilicity of calcite surface by disturbing aqueous layers along with a distance of 1.5 Å–2.5 Å. In addition, the temperature effect was observed into lesser adsorption energy by heating up the water toward its’ boiling point. This study contributes to a wider insight into pure water adsorption features before designing complex microstructures.  相似文献
