Novel nanocomposite carbon aerogel (CAG)-multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) materials have been synthesized and studied in 5 M KOH for electrochemical capacitor applications. The amount of MWNT in the nanocomposite was varied from 3 to 10 wt%. High specific surface areas ranging between 670 and 710 m2 g−1 were obtained as measured by nitrogen gas adsorption method, whereas the average pore diameter ranged between 1 and 4 nm.  相似文献

A genetic algorithm (GA) model is developed and used for optimizing the allocation of water resources within a complex multiple reservoir system located in Tunisia. The GA model considers two objectives: the water allocation to demand centers and the salinity level of the water supply to end users. These two objectives are combined into a single objective function using a weighting factor approach. Five different cases (representing five different weighting factor combinations) were analyzed by the GA model to produce the “optimum” allocation of water resources for each case. The generated solutions exhibited low variability. The results are then compared using a range of system performance indicators to measure reliability, resilience, and vulnerability. The evaluation of the system performance is an essential step to help system managers identify the preferred allocation strategy and it provides a comprehensive insight into system behavior.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the performance of a combined waste stabilisation pond after three years of functioning and the reuse of treated wastewater for irrigating potatoes and lettuce culture. The combined ponds showed good functioning conditions and excellent performances either for organic load (90%), faecal coliform (6 log units) or helminth eggs (100%) and produced a high and perennial effluent quality. The effluent could be used for non-restrictive irrigation, with a clear improvement of culture production and hygienic quality for both fruits and soil.  相似文献

In order to avoid transmission collisions in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), a reliable and efficient medium access control (MAC) protocol is needed. Vehicular MANETs (VANETs) have vehicles as network nodes and their main characteristics are high mobility and speed. Active safety applications for VANETs need to establish reliable communications with minimal transmission collisions. Only few MAC protocols designed for MANETs can be adapted to efficiently work in VANETs. In this article we provide a short overview on some MANET MAC protocols, and then we summarize and qualitatively compare the ones suited for VANETs  相似文献

Fully-developed laminar flow in a horizontal thin slit having plates at different temperature is considered for the case of lower plate movement and/or the pressure gradient-and-upper plate movement. The flow under these conditions is analyzed in terms of entropy generations as function of the Prandtl number, the Eckert number, cross-flow Reynolds number and dimensionless temperature difference. In this context, the governing equations for distributions of temperature, the dimensionless entropy generation number and Bejan number are analytically derived with the aid of expressions for velocity distributions. The effect of each parameter on the temperature and the entropy generation are investigated by varying one of the parameters and keeping the rest of them constant for each flow case. The effects of viscous dissipation, rates of mass suction/injection and dimensionless temperature differences on the fluid temperature and entropy generation are examined. The magnitudes of mass suction and/or injection have a large influence on the temperature profile of the fluid. It is observed that the Prandtl number and the Eckert number affect fluid temperature in similar way. It is found that an increase in values of the cross-flow Reynolds number (mass suction/injection) enhances the entropy generation in boundary layer. The velocity profiles are found to be in agreement with the distributions of the dimensionless entropy generation number (NS) for two flow cases.  相似文献

An industrial biomass boiler of 200 kW thermal power is analyzed by computational and experimental methods. Gas composition and temperature within the furnace and in the downstream heat exchanger are measured. Combustion, flow and heat transfer processes within the furnace, exhaust tract as well as the forced convection on the water side of the heat exchanger are computationally investigated by the finite volume method-based computational fluid dynamics procedures. The predictions are compared with the experiments. A satisfactory overall agreement between the predicted and measured temperatures is observed with an average deviation about 5 %. For oxygen mole fractions a fair agreement is found that shows deviations within the range of 10–20 %. For carbon monoxide, calculations exhibit a stronger underprediction.  相似文献

Main possible honey fraud is the addition of various sugar syrups. But, there are also other types of fraud, such as deception on the geographical and/or botanical origin product. Providing a product of the hive with full authenticity is therefore crucial for the preservation of beekeeping. In this pursuit, voltammetric electronic tongue (VE-tongue) was employed to classify honey samples from different geographical and botanical origins. Furthermore, VE-tongue was used to detect adulterants such as glucose syrup (GS) and saccharose syrup (SS) in honey. The data obtained were analyzed by three-pattern recognition techniques: principal component analysis (PCA), support vector machines (SVMs), and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA). These methods enabled the classification of 18 honeys of different geographical origins and 7 honeys of different botanical origins. Excellent results were obtained also in the detection of adulterated honey. Therefore, this simple method based on VE-tongue could be useful in the honey packaging and commercialization industry.  相似文献

Event data analysis is becoming increasingly of interest to academic researchers looking for patterns in the data. Unlike domain experts working in large companies who have access to IT staff and expensive software infrastructures, researchers find it harder to efficiently manage their event data analysis by themselves. Particularly, user-driven rule management is a challenge especially when analysis rules increase in size and complexity over time. In this paper, we propose an event data analysis platform called EP-RDR intended for non-IT experts that facilitates the evolution of event processing rules according to changing requirements. This platform integrates a rule learning framework called Ripple-Down Rules (RDR) operating in conjunction with an event pattern detection component invoked as a service (EPDaaS). We have built a prototype to demonstrate this solution on real-life scenario involving financial data analysis.  相似文献
