Real-time multimedia applications have to use forward error correction (FEC) anderror concealment techniques to cope with losses in today’s best-effort Internet. The efficiency of these solutions is known however to depend on the correlation between losses in the media stream. In this paper we investigate how the packet size distribution affects the packet loss process, that is, the distribution of the number of lost packets in a block, the related FEC performance and the average loss run length. We present mathematical models for the loss process of the MMPP+M/D/1/K and the MMPP+M/M/1/K queues; we validate the models via simulations, and compare the results to simulation results with an MPEG-4 coded video trace. We conclude that the deterministic packet size distribution (PSD) not only results in lower stationary loss probability than the exponential one, but also gives a less correlated loss process, both at a particular average link load and at a particular stationary loss probability as seen by the media stream.Our results show that for applications that can only measure the packet loss probability, the effects of the PSD on FEC performance are higher in access networks, where a single multimedia stream might affect the multiplexing behavior. The evolution of microstructure and texture in Al6082 precipitation-hardened alloy during equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) was studied. It was found that although the dislocation density and the subgrain size saturated after 1 pass, the size of grains bounded by high angle boundaries reached its minimum value only after 4 passes. Furthermore, the grain orientation distribution changes between 4 and 8 passes, indicating the development of grain boundary structure even after the saturation of the parameters of the microstructure. As a result of this evolution, the initial texture of the commercial alloy was diminished after 8 passes and the grain orientation distribution became to be close to random case.  相似文献

 Uninorms are an important generalization of t-norms and t-conorms, having a neutral element lying anywhere in the unit interval. A uninorm shows a typical block structure and is built from a t-norm, a t-conorm and a mean operator. Two important classes of uninorms are characterized, corresponding to the use of the minimum operator (the class U min) and maximum operator (the class U max) as mean operator. The characterization of representable uninorms, i.e. uninorms with an additive generator, and of left-continuous and right-continuous idempotent uninorms is recalled. Two residual operators are associated with a uninorm and it is characterized when they yield an implicator and coimplicator. The block structure of the residual implicator of members of the class U min and of the residual coimplicator of members of the class U max is investigated. Explicit expressions for the residual implicator and residual coimplicator of representable uninorms and of certain left-continuous or right-continuous idempotent uninorms are given. The distribution and elimination of fumonisins after oral administration of 50 mg FB1, 20 mg FB2 and 5 mg FB3 per animal day-1 for 22 days was studied in weaned barrows. At the end of the trial, the lung, heart, liver, kidney, spleen, brain, serum, bile, muscle, fat, urine and faeces samples were collected and their content of fumonisins (FB1, FB2) determined by LC-MS. The highest FB1 concentrations were found in the liver (99.4 ± 37.5 ng g-1) and kidneys (30.6 ± 10.1 ng g-1), whilst the highest average amount of FB2 was in the liver (1.4 ± 2.3 ng g-1) and fat (2.6 ng g-1 ± 4.8) samples. Comparing the FB1/FB2 ratio in different organs (19/1), it was found that the ratio in the abdominal and subcutaneous fat samples (4/1) was markedly different from those in all other tissues, namely the relative proportion of FB2 was higher in latter cases. Of the total quantity of FB1, the 13% taken up during 5 days was excreted unchanged with the faeces and urine. On average, in the urine and faeces, FB1 was detected in nine- and 14-fold quantities, as compared with FB2.  相似文献

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are an important advancement in the field of cancer treatment, significantly improving the survival of patients with a series of advanced malignancies, like melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and Hodgkin lymphoma. ICIs act upon T lymphocytes and antigen-presenting cells, targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD1), programmed cell death protein ligand 1 (PD-L1), and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4), breaking the immune tolerance of the T cells against malignant cells and enhancing the body’s own immune response. A variety of cardiac-adverse effects are associated with ICI-based treatment, including pericarditis, arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, and acute coronary syndrome, with myocarditis being the most studied due to its often-unexpected onset and severity. Overall, Myocarditis is rare but presents an immune-related adverse event (irAE) that has a high fatality rate. Considering the rising number of oncological patients treated with ICIs and the severity of their potential adverse effects, a good understanding and continuous investigation of cardiac irAEs is of the utmost importance. This systematic review aimed to revise recent publications (between 2016–2022) on ICI-induced cardiac toxicities and highlight the therapeutical approach and evolution in the selected cases.  相似文献

Fluorescence anisotropy parameter of [p-(6-phenyl)-1,3,5-hexatrienyl]phenyl-propionic acid (DPH-PA) and 1-(4-trimethylammoniumphenyl)-6-phenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene (TMA-DPH) embedded in synaptic plasma membranes prepared from brains of cold (5°C) and warm (22°C) adapted fish (Cyprinus carpio L.), rat (Rattus norvegicus) and bird (Branta canadensis), was studied. Fatty acid composition of total lipids as well as molecular species composition of diacyl phosphatidylcholines and phosphatidylethanolamines was also determined. The amount of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids decreased with increasing body temperature. There was a nearcomplete compensation of membrane structural order for environmental/body tempeature over the evolutionary scale as seen by DPH-PA. Using TMA-DPH, the compensation was partial with rat and bird. Since DPH-PA and TMA-DPH differ in their charges, it is proposed, that the former reported membrane regions rich in cationic or zwitterionic (neutral) phospholipids and the latter, membrane regions rich in negatively charged phospholipids in the synaptic plasma membranes. Many different molecular species (20–25) of diacyl phosphatidylcholines and diacyl phosphatidylethanolamines were identified. The level of 16:0/22:6 phosphatidylcholine decreased while disaturated phosphatidylcholines increased with increase of environmental/body temperature from the fish through the bird. Level of 1-monoenoic 2-polyenoic phosphatidylethanolamines also decreased with an increase in environmental/body temperature. Experiments using vesicles made of mixed synthetic phosphatidylcholine vesicles (16:0/16:0, 16:0/18:1, 16:0/22:6 in various proportions) showed that increase in disaturated phosphatidylcholine species does not explain the observed complete adjustment of membrane structural order in synaptic plasma membranes. Change in level of 1-monoenoic, 2-polyenoic phosphatidylethanolamines might be one of the factors involved in controlling the biophysical properties of the membrane according to the temperature.  相似文献

Abnormalities of the sex ratio of births may be linked with environmental factors, including diet and pollutants in the general or occupational environments, which in turn can cause ill-health. To examine this relationship in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, where a geographical imbalance of mortality has already been identified, we examined the geographical distribution of sex ratios (boys/girls x 100) of young children (0-4 years) in the communities of the Province during recent years. The individual communities of the 1976 and 1981 censuses were assigned to contiguous regions and their component districts. The numbers in the appropriate age-groups in the communities in these two census years were used to calculate a mean sex ratio for each community; each community was allocated, according to the value of its ratio, to one of four predefined categories of ratio. From the numbers of communities belonging to these various categories of sex ratio in the regions and districts, the community sex ratios of these areas (i.e. regions and districts) were derived. As a preliminary assessment of the relationship between sex ratios and mortality, a small group of communities with the highest sex ratios was selected, and the mean standardized mortality ratios (SMRs) for all deaths in those communities were calculated. The community sex ratios of regions and districts declined from east to west. The difference in the ratios between the Avalon region (in the most easterly part of the Province) and the southwest region was statistically significant. Districts with high ratios were frequent, particularly those on the Avalon peninsula in the south-east of the island, whereas low ratios were more frequent on the south-west coast of the island, and a low ratio was also found for the only inland district. Of the communities with statistically reliable numbers, the township of Makkovik in Labrador had the highest sex ratio (100 x 50/25 = 200). The SMR of that community during 1976-82 was statistically elevated at 218. In the small group of communities studied, however, high sex ratios from census data for individual communities were not reliable predictors of high SMRs. Further work is required to clarify the inter-relationships between the sex ratios of the census data, the sex ratios of births, the mortality rates and environmental factors.  相似文献

Studied the influence of group stress on proclivities toward an authoritarian style of leadership and on use of power by industrial foremen and supervisors in their relations with members of a supposed work crew. 25 supervisors were assigned to a group-stress condition and 25 to a neutral condition. Group stress was simulated by having a member of the work crew disparage both the experimental task and the supervisor. By so behaving, the problem worker had a negative impact on group morale. A set of rating categories was constructed for assessing authoritarian style of leadership, and these ratings were converted to a quantitative index. In the last few years there has been an increased production and application of aluminium foil of under 20 μm thickness all over the world. Household foil is often stored in a wet environment, where the surface is only protected against corrosion by an aluminium oxide layer produced during manufacturing. In this study it has been shown that the aluminium-water vapour reaction is greatly affected by the composition and structure of the amorphous oxide layer on the surface and this depends on the composition of base metal and on the annealing of the foil. The incubation period of aluminium hydroxide nucleation is shortened and its growth rate accelerated by alkali and alkaline earth metal cations incorporated in the oxide layer. In particular the corrosion resistance is decreased by the presence of alkali (Li) and alkaline earth metal (Mg) cations in the oxide layers.  相似文献
