Three new dihydro--agarofuran sesquiterpenes from two species ofMaytenus were isolated and their structures were elucidated by means of1H and13C NMR studies. The differences and similarities noted in the chemical content of the dihydro--agarofuran sesquiterpenes from the fourMaytenus species from Chile are in line with the taxonomic characterization of these species; their geographical distribution is also given.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Because there are fewer tools available to probe the interactions therein, the effect of the fundamental chemistry of the organic diluent on solvent extraction equilibria has been under-characterized relative to the aqueous. As a result, diluents for solvent extraction are often selected for an application not for their utility as a medium for reaction, but for other (often equally) important reasons (like low flammability). To begin to improve this imbalance in the science, twenty different diluents have been used in a study of the extraction of radiotracer 152/154Eu3+ from dilute nitric acid solutions using the extractant 2-ethylhexylphosphonic acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester (HEH[EHP]). To increase the utility of the study and to honor the memory of Professor Jan Rydberg, this investigation was conducted by a cadre of comparatively inexperienced separation scientists (who are as a result no longer inexperienced separation scientists) as a radioanalytical chemistry and solvent extraction educational exercise. Slope analysis was used to determine the apparent stoichiometry of the extracted metal complex. The results discussed in the following indicate that, while the pH dependence exhibits the expected three H+ exchanged per metal ion extracted, the extractant dependence suggests that the number of protonated extractant molecules in the extracted complex changes with the organic diluent. The experimentally observed “extractant dependency” ranges from 2.5 to 3.0 dimer equivalent molecules per extracted metal ion. Ironically, in the diluents exhibiting the highest apparent M:(HA)3 stoichiometry, HEH[EHP] extracts Eu3+ less efficiently. Europium luminescence spectroscopy was used to probe for changes in the first coordination sphere of the complex in different diluents. A model and conceptual framework for understanding these observations is described.  相似文献

The flow structure of a continuous‐flow reactor stirred by a Rushton turbine was investigated by laser Doppler velocimetry for two different mean residence time‐mixing time ratios. Velocity measurements were obtained for two inlet locations, corresponding to the incoming liquid stream being fed co‐currently or counter‐currently to the flow discharged by the turbine. In all investigated configurations and for all operating conditions, it was found that the flow disruption caused by the incoming liquid stream was observable mainly in the first vessel quarter, which followed the feed‐tube plane. From comparison of the velocities encountered in the various planes in the continuous‐flow reactor to the velocities of the batch reactor, it was also concluded that it may be possible to intensify the usage of the turbine‐stirred vessel by decreasing the characteristic times ratio, without considerable flow by‐pass and/or short‐circuiting problems.  相似文献

This paper describes the design of guaranteed transient performance based attitude control for the near space vehicle(NSV)with control input saturation using the backstepping method.To improve the robust controllability of the NSV,the parameter adaptive method is used to tackle the integrated effect of unknown time-varying disturbance and control input saturation.Based on the backstepping technique and parameter estimated outputs,a robust attitude control scheme is proposed for the NSV with input saturation.A novel robust attitude control scheme is then proposed based on a prescribed performance bound(PPB)which characterizes the convergence rate and maximum overshoot of the attitude tracking error.The closed-loop system stability under both the developed robust attitude control schemes is proved using Lyapunov’s method and uniformly asymptotical convergence of all closed-loop signals is guaranteed.Finally,simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of both the proposed robust constrained attitude control schemes.  相似文献

Novel polymer nanocomposite foams made by a two step compression molding method are analyzed in this article. Nanocomposites of low density polyethylene and an organo‐modified hectorite were first melt compounded and then foamed using a compression molding method. To study the influence of the presence and the amount of hectorite in both mechanical and thermal properties, samples with 3% and 7% content of hectorite were prepared. Polyethylene crystalline characteristics and thermal stability of the samples were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), respectively. Mechanical properties of foams and solid nanocomposites were analyzed by using dynamical mechanical analysis (DMA). Thermal expansion of the samples was analyzed by thermomechanical analysis. The results indicate that the exfoliation of hectorite platelets was achieved after the foaming process, but not during the melt mixing step. Foams with hectorite nanoparticles exhibit improved thermal stability and mechanical properties when compared with neat polymeric foams. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 2007  相似文献

A fast on‐line method for measuring the monomer conversion of a styrene batch polymerization reaction with near‐infrared spectroscopy (NIR) has been developed. Multivariate calibration was performed, using polymer samples having temperatures around the set point of the batch reactor (75–85°C) and monomer conversions up to 35%. The calibration model was built in such a way that the effect of the temperature on the predicted conversion of the sample was minimized. The method was validated in a number of batch runs. In these runs, the batch temperature and molar mass distributions of the polymer were varied. At‐line size‐exclusion chromatography was used as a reference method for measuring the monomer conversion. Results show that on‐line conversion monitoring with NIR offered overall an excellent accuracy (~ 0.32% conversion). For high and low monomer conversions a small bias in the predicted conversion is present. The method proved to be insensitive to both relative large changes (10°C) of the batch temperature and to considerable changes of the molar mass distribution of the polymer. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Summary Degradation of linear high density polyethylene (HDPE) and butyl branched linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) was studied during moulding in a closed mixing chamber. At the beginning of the process the rate of oxidative degradation was found faster for LLDPE than for HDPE but later this relation reversed. The degradation mechanism was the same for both types of polyethylenes but the rate of elementary steps depended on the chemical structure of the polymer chain. The differences were attributed to the structural differences in the original materials and the products formed during degradation.  相似文献

Two simple methods are presented for the characterization of inelastic power law fluids from falling sphere data. The methods involve the application of shear rate or shear stress correction factors which have been derived theoretically using Slattery's solution for creeping flow about spheres. Flow curves obtained using these methods are in excellent agreement with those measured on a Weissenberg rheogoniometer for 0.83 ≤ n ≤ 1.0. The experimentally determined drag coefficients are found to be in good agreement with the predictions of Slattery's creeping flow first approximation solution. The wall correction factors of Faxen and Francis appear to be valid for inelastic non-Newtonian fluids up to a diameter ratio of at least 0.08.  相似文献
