Beschreibung des verwendeten adiabatischen Hochtemperaturkalorimeters. Wahre und mittlere spezifische Wärmekapazität zwischen 50 und 400 bzw. 650°C der Stähle St 35, 13 CrMo 4 4, 10 CrMo 9 10, X 20 CrMoV 12 1, 12 Ni 19 und X 8 Ni 9. Ergänzende Untersuchungen an dem ferritisch-austenitischen Stahl X 20 CrNiSi 25 4. Aufspaltung der Meßwerte in den Anteil nach Debye sowie in den anharmonischen, elektronischen und magnetischen Beitrag zur spezifischen Wärmekapazität.     

Effect of the orientation stretch conditions for viscose textile yarn on its dyeing uniformity

Conclusions The tension of viscose textile yarn in the orientation stretching zone depends on the viscose parameters and the spinning conditions.A decrease in tension in orientation of yarn arriving at the centrifugal can increases the dyeing uniformity of the finished yarn.Translated from Khimicheskie Volokna, No. 3, pp. 35–36, May–June, 1983.     

Aphasia and the CNS from Imhotep to Broca.

Reviews work related to speech disorders and the central nervous system (CNS) before P. Broca's (1861) discovery of a center for articulate language in the patient Tan. Literature before 1861 indicates that Broca was not the first to write about an association between frontal lobe damage and aphasia and that the case of Tan is a confirmation of a recurrent idea. This review shows that the study of the aphasias and the brain began at least with the ancient Egyptians. The idea of speech centers in the cortex was a recurrent topic debated by physicians and scientists before Broca presented the case of Tan. Detergent alcohols. I. The effect of alcohol structure and molecular weight on surfactant properties

A large number of aliphatic alcohols have been studied to relate performance of the derived surfactants to structure and molecular weight. The alcohols were examined as sulfates, ethoxylates, and ethoxysulfates in heavy-and light-duty compositions. Clear points and surface tensions of aqueous solutions were determined. Cotton detergency was evaluated in a bench-scale test by using artificially soiled test cloths. Foam performance was measured in a soil titration test. In general, excellent performance is observed with derivatives which have 70% or greater n-primary alcohol content. The odd-numbered alcohol derivatives contribute significantly to optimum performance. Presented at the AOCS Meeting, Chicago, October 1964.
