A hydrogel microcapsule with an intermediate thin oil layer is presented to achieve smart release of a broad range of cargoes triggered via diverse stimuli. A microfluidic technique is used to produce triple emulsion droplets with a thin oil layer that separates the innermost aqueous phase from the hydrogel prepolymer phase, which transforms into a hydrogel shell via photopolymerization. The intermediate oil layer within the hydrogel microcapsule acts as an effective diffusion barrier, allowing encapsulation of various small cargoes within a porous hydrogel shell until a stimulus is applied to destabilize the oil layer. It is demonstrated that diverse stimuli including chemical dissolution, mechanical stress, and osmotic pressure can be utilized to release the encapsulated cargo on-demand. In addition, osmotic pressure and the hydrogel shell thickness can be independently tuned to control the onset time of release as well as the release behavior of multi-cargo encapsulated hydrogel microcapsule. In 5G networks, it is necessary to provide services while meeting various service requirements, such as high data rates and low latency, in response to dynamic network conditions. Multi-access edge computing (MEC) is a promising concept to meet these requirements. The MEC environment enables service providers to deploy their low latency services that are composed of multiple components. However, operating a service manually and attempting to satisfy the quality of service (QoS) requirements is difficult because many factors need to be considered in an MEC scenario. In this paper, we propose an auto-scaling method using deep Q-networks (DQN), which is a reinforcement learning algorithm, to resize the number of instances assigned to service. In our evaluation, compared to other baseline methods, the proposed approach maintains the appropriate number of instances effectively in response to dynamic traffic change while satisfying QoS and minimizing the cost of operating the service in the MEC environment. The proposed method was implemented as a module running in OpenStack and published as open-source software.  相似文献

A data reuse algorithm for multiple reference frame motion estimation is described. The proposed algorithm reduces memory access by modifying the reference frame search order and search centre such that the likelihood of data reuse is increased. Experimental results show that the algorithm reduces memory access by 15-30% compared to the conventional fast reference frame selection algorithm, while maintaining similar bit rate and PSNR  相似文献

Metamorphic GaAs high electron mobility transistors (mHEMTs) with the highest-f max reported to date are presented here. The 35-nm zigzag T-gate In0.52Al0.48As/In0.53Ga0.47As metamorphic GaAs HEMTs show f maxof 520 GHz, f T of 440 GHz, and maximum transconductance (g m) of 1100 mS/mm at a drain current of 333 mA/mm. The combinations of f max and f T are the highest data yet reported for mHEMTs. These devices are promising candidates for aggressively scaled sub-35-nm T-gate mHEMTs.  相似文献

In order to provide more accurate detection of the primary user's activity in cognitive radio (CR) systems, cooperative spectrum sensing is proposed. The transmit diversity can also be employed by cooperative spectrum sensing to improve the performance of decision reporting. Hence, in the reporting channels between the cognitive users and the base station (BS), space time block code (STBC) scheme is considered in each cluster with time division multiple access (TMDA) method. In this paper, to improve the time efficiency in the case that one cluster makes sensing report, whereas the others do nothing but wait for their orders, we set each cluster with different sensing durations and the clusters will not stop the spectrum sensing until their results are reported. Furthermore, we also adopt the flexible sensing durations to decrease unnecessary energy consumption based on the clusters’ sensing sensitivities. Network direct attached storage (NDAS) is a network storage architecture that allows direct attachment of existing ATA/ATAPI devices to Ethernet without a separate server. Unlike other architectures such as NAS, SAN, and USB mass storage, no server computer intervenes between the storage and the client hosts. We describe an NDAS disk controller (NDC) amenable to low-cost single-chip implementation that processes a simplified L3/L4 protocol and converts commands between ATA/ATAPI and Ethernet, while the remaining complex tasks are performed by remote hosts. Unlike NAS architectures that use TCP/IP, NDAS uses a TCP-like lean protocol that lends itself well to high-performance hardware realization. Thanks to the simple NDAS architecture and protocol, an NDC implemented on a single 4 mm /spl times/ 4 mm chip in 0.18 /spl mu/m CMOS technology achieves a maximum throughput of 55 Mbytes/s on gigabit Ethernet, which is comparable to that of a high-performance disk locally attached to a host computer.  相似文献

A W-band divide-by-3 frequency divider with wide bandwidth and low power dissipation is presented using harmonic injection-locking technique. A cascode FET is employed for a self-oscillating second-harmonic mixer which is injection-locked by third-harmonic input to obtain the division order of three. The fabricated frequency divider using 0.1 /spl mu/m GaAs metamorphic HEMT technology shows superior performance such as large bandwidth of 6.1 GHz around 83.1 GHz (7.3%) under small DC power consumption of 12 mW.  相似文献

Novel configurations of microwave planar magic-T suitable for microwave integrated circuits (MICs) and monolithic MICs are described. They consist of microstrip and slotline T-junctions coupled by microstrip-slotline transitions. Since via-hole processing is not encountered, they are especially applicable to multilayer MICs. Derived equivalent network models are used efficiently for the design of the corresponding multilayer microstrip magic-T. Measured data and numerical simulations showing good amplitude and phase characteristics over an octave operating bandwidth validate the proposed configurations of planar magic-T  相似文献

Searching high capacity cathode materials is one of the most important fields of the research and development of sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). Here, we report a FeO0.7F1.3/C nanocomposite synthesized via a solution process as a new cathode material for SIBs. This material exhibits a high initial discharge capacity of 496 mAh g?1 in a sodium cell at 50 °C. From the 3rd to 50th cycle, the capacity fading is only 0.14% per cycle (from 388 mAh g?1 at 3rd the cycle to 360 mAh g?1 at the 50th cycle), demonstrating superior cyclability. A high energy density of 650 Wh kg?1 is obtained at the material level. The reaction mechanism studies of FeO0.7F1.3/C with sodium show a hybridized mechanism of both intercalation and conversion reaction.  相似文献
