Developing an environment that enables optimal and flexible design of robot manipulators using reconfigurable links, joints, actuators, and sensors is an essential step for efficient robot design and prototyping. Such an environment should have the right mix of software and hardware components for designing the physical parts and the controllers, and for the algorithmic control of the robot modules (kinematics, inverse kinematics, dynamics, trajectory planning, analog control and digital computer control). Specifying object-based communications and catalog mechanisms between the software modules, controllers, physical parts, CAD designs, and actuator and sensor components is a necessary step in the prototyping activities.In this paper, we propose a flexible prototyping environment for robot manipulators with the required subsystems and interfaces between the different components of this environment. This environment provides a close tie between the design parameters of the robot manipulator by the different subsystems involved in the design process. The design and implementation of this environment along with the implementation of some of the subsystems are presented, and some examples that demonstrate the functionality of the environment are discussed. Receivers of broadcast digital television (DTV) service operate in an often difficult environment of electrical interference, multiple other TV signals in close frequency proximity, multipath, wide dynamic range input signals, and uncertain antenna choice and installation. Receivers must demodulate and decode the signal and optimize its processing for different display technologies-a process that can include format conversion between progressive and interlaced scanning and different screen pixel counts. Data that supports the new services enabled by digital transmission must be decoded and processed. Receiver designers must implement the required functions cost-effectively even as they strive to provide performance and feature differentiation from their competitors' products. This paper describes all of the DTV receiver functions and references the associated standards. Emphasis is given to the difficult areas of signal reception and demodulation and to sections of the receiver that enable attractive and recognizable consumer features.  相似文献

Short-term selective breeding created mouse lines divergent for ethanol drinking (high drinking short-term selected line [STDRHI], low drinking [STDRLO]) or ethanol-induced conditioned taste aversion (CTA; high [HTA], low [LTA]). Compared with STDRLO, STDRHI mice consumed more saccharin and less quinine, exhibited greater ethanol-induced conditioned place preference (CPP), and showed reduced ethanol stimulation and sensitization under some conditions; a line difference in ethanol-induced CTA was not consistently found. Compared with LTA, HTA mice consumed less ethanol but were similar in saccharin consumption, sensitivity to ethanol-induced CPP, and ethanol-induced locomotor stimulation and sensitization. These data suggest that ethanol drinking is genetically associated with several reward-and aversion-related traits. The interpretation of ethanol-induced CTA as more genetically distinct must be tempered by the inability to test the CTA lines beyond Selection Generation 2. This article addresses what factors best motivate individuals to work toward shared goals. We propose that when individuals do not identify highly with a group, their contributions will mimic others': An emphasis on things done will increase their contributions toward achieving a goal, because such emphasis suggests the goal is worth pursuing. Conversely, we propose that when individuals identify highly with a group, their contributions will compensate for others': An emphasis on things left undone will increase their own contributions, because missing contributions suggest insufficient progress toward a goal they already consider worthwhile. Five studies lend support to these predictions by measuring contributions to goals centered on idea generation and helping victims of various global disasters (earthquake in Haiti, wildfires in Southern California, rioting in Kenya).
