Novel biodegradable β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) cements with anti-washout properties were created on the basis of chelate-setting mechanism of inositol phosphate (IP6) using β-TCP powders. The β-TCP powders were ball-milled using ZrO2 beads for 0–6 h in the IP6 solutions with concentrations from 0 to 10,000 ppm. The chelate-setting β-TCP cement with anti-washout property was successfully fabricated by mixing the β-TCP powder ball-milled in 3,000 ppm IP6 solution for 3 h and 2.5 mass% Na2HPO4 solution, and compressive strength of the cement was 13.4 ± 0.8 MPa. An in vivo study revealed that the above cement was directly in contact with host and newly formed bones without fibrous tissue layers, and was resorbed by osteoclast-like cells on the surface of the cement. The chelate-setting β-TCP cement with anti-washout property is promising for application as a novel injectable artificial bone with both biodegradability and osteoconductivity.  相似文献

Capacitance distribution of {(Ni(0.6)Nb(0.4)(1-x)Zrx}(100-y)-Hy (x = 0.30, 0.35, 0.40, 0.45 and 0.50, 0 < or = y < or = 20) glassy alloy ribbons was carried out by ac impedance analysis at frequency of 1 kHz, in terms of a distributed constant equivalent circuit. The capacitance can be represented by oblique contour lines. The highest capacitance (1-11 microF) could be found near the point when x = 0.40, y = 10, which is a composition occurring room-temperature Coulomb oscillation, while capacitance of the composition (x = 0.35, y = 4) occurring ballistic transport was around 0.8 microF. The capacitance difference would be explained by an effect of hydrogen localization derived from morphology of distorted Zr-centered icosahedral Zr5Ni5Nb3 clusters and ideal Ni-centered clusters. The electrocapillarity equation showed that the specific capacitance between two electrodes increases parabolic with decreasing the distance, as a polarized glutinous liquid.  相似文献

Synthetic molecular motors can be fuelled by the hydrolysis or hybridization of DNA. Such motors can move autonomously and programmably, and long-range transport has been observed on linear tracks. It has also been shown that DNA systems can compute. Here, we report a synthetic DNA-based system that integrates long-range transport and information processing. We show that the path of a motor through a network of tracks containing four possible routes can be programmed using instructions that are added externally or carried by the motor itself. When external control is used we find that 87% of the motors follow the correct path, and when internal control is used 71% of the motors follow the correct path. Programmable motion will allow the development of computing networks, molecular systems that can sort and process cargoes according to instructions that they carry, and assembly lines that can be reconfigured dynamically in response to changing demands.  相似文献

We report an experimental result that shows the excitation of surface plasmon polaritons by use of a zeroth-order Bessel beam. From the viewpoint of energy efficiency, the zeroth order Bessel beam is ideal for the local excitation of surface plasmon polaritons on a metal film. We introduce an optical setup using an axicon element in order to carry out the excitation.  相似文献

When used in small molar ratios of matrix to analyte, derivatized fullerenes and single wall nanotubes are shown to be efficient matrices for matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry. The mixing of an acidic functionalized fullerene with a solution of bioanalyte, depositing a dried droplet, and irradiating with a pulsed nitrogen laser yields protonated or cationized molecular ions. Derivatized fullerenes could offer several advantages over conventional MALDI matrices: a high analyte ionization efficiency, a small molar ratios (less than 1) of matrix/analyte, and a broader optical absorption spectrum, which should obviate specific wavelength lasers for MALDI acquisitions. The major disadvantage to the use of fullerenes is the isobaric interference between matrix and analyte ions; however, it is overcome by using MALDI-ion mobility time-of-flight (IM-oTOF) mass spectrometry to preseparate carbon cluster ions from bioanalyte ions prior to TOF mass analysis. However, an alternative to the dried droplet preparation of fullerene MALDI samples is the aerosolization of matrix-analyte solutions (or slurries) followed by impacting the aerosol onto a stainless surface. We also demonstrate that the fullerene matrices can be used to acquire spectra from rat brain tissue.  相似文献

To improve the damage threshold of hollow optical waveguides for transmitting Q-switched Nd:YAG laser pulses, we optimize the metallization processes for the inner coating of fibers. For silver-coated hollow fiber as the base, second, and third Nd:YAG lasers, drying silver films at a moderate temperature and with inert gas flow is found to be effective. By using this drying process, the resistance to high-peak-power optical pulse radiation is drastically improved for fibers fabricated with and without the sensitizing process. The maximum peak power transmitted in the fiber is greater than 20 MW. To improve the energy threshold of aluminum-coated hollow fibers for the fourth and fifth harmonics of Nd:YAG lasers, a thin silver film is added between the aluminum film and the glass substrate to increase adhesion of the aluminum coating. By using this primer layer, the power threshold improves to 3 MW for the fourth harmonics of a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser light.  相似文献

In this report, a new CO2 refrigeration system is introduced, which can achieve a refrigeration capability below the CO2 triple point of ?56.6 °C. The proposed CO2 refrigeration system consists of two thermodynamic cycles arranged in cascade, where one is a CO2 trans-critical cycle and another is a trans-triple-point cycle. An experimental set-up is constructed and tested in order to obtain a basic knowledge about this CO2 system. Based on the measured data, it is concluded that the built CO2 refrigeration system can operate continuously and stably, although dry ice particles exist in the closed CO2 loops. An average COP (a ratio of cooling energy to the compressor power consumption) is measured at 2.45 in the present experiment range for the low-pressure system of the experimental set-up. In addition, the influence of the condensation temperature on the refrigeration cycle is investigated and more studies are needed for the future optimization work.  相似文献

In this study, the damage evolution behavior was evaluated considering the effect of the textile structure and water absorption. Damage observation was conducted by the integration of non-destructive and direct observation methods. Candidate textile reinforcements were T300-3k plain woven fabric (PW) and T700S-12k multi-axial knitted fabric (MA). The effect of water absorption on the performances of compression after impact (CAI) and PIF were small in PW CFRP laminates. Conversely, PIF properties of water-absorbed MA CFRP laminates drastically decreased than that of dry ones. CAI strength was not affected by water absorption. PIF performance of dry MA CFRP was fairly higher than that of the others. From the precise observation, some evidences of interfacial deterioration caused by water absorption were confirmed in both PW and MA CFRP laminates.  相似文献

SUS316L stainless steel and cobalt–chromium and platinum–chromium alloys are widely used platforms for coronary stents. These alloys also contain nickel (Ni), which reportedly induces allergic reactions in some subjects and is known to have various cellular effects. The effects of Ni on neointima formation after stent implantation remain unknown, however. We developed coronary stents made of Ni-free high-nitrogen austenitic stainless steel prepared using a N2-gas pressurized electroslag remelting (P-ESR) process. Neointima formation and inflammatory responses following stent implantation in porcine coronary arteries were then compared between the Ni-free and SUS316L stainless steel stents. We found significantly less neointima formation and inflammation in arteries implanted with Ni-free stents, as compared to SUS316L stents. Notably, Ni2+ was eluted into the medium from SUS316L but not from Ni-free stainless steel. Mechanistically, Ni2+ increased levels of hypoxia inducible factor protein-1α (HIF-1α) and its target genes in cultured smooth muscle cells. HIF-1α and their target gene levels were also increased in the vascular wall at SUS316L stent sites but not at Ni-free stent sites. The Ni-free stainless steel coronary stent reduces neointima formation, in part by avoiding activation of inflammatory processes via the Ni-HIF pathway. The Ni-free-stainless steel stent is a promising new coronary stent platform.  相似文献
