This brief note describes angle of arrival measurement made at Columbus, Ohio, USA, on 11.7 and 28.56 GHz earth-space paths. These measurements indicate that the short term deviation of the angle of arrival exceeds 0.1° for 0.01 percent of the time. Such a fluctuation would indicate that adverse effects may be expected for receiving apertures having diameters on the order of 1.000 λ or larger.  相似文献

The immune system and nervous system are intimately related. In addition to neuroendocrine mechanisms, neuropeptides have a variety of effects on immune cells and are responsible at least in part for neurogenic inflammation. The presence of neuropeptides in the skin has been well documented. The influence of neuropeptides on Langerhans cells is the focus of this paper. The physical presence and effects of calcitonin gene-related peptide on Langerhans cells is emphasized. Discussion also includes the putative inflammatory and immunologic roles of vasoactive intestinal peptide, substance P, neurotensin, neuropeptide Y, and somatostatin in the skin.  相似文献

Describes a service delivery system with a group personal counseling emphasis, based on the authors' 2 yrs of experience at a university counseling center. The local background and rationale for this system are discussed, and the practical logistics, the operational policies, and the group ground rules are presented. Utilization data are summarized: 36% of all clients and 88% of clients with 8 or more sessions were group members; groups typically grew to 9 clients and had 60% attendance. Results for a self-report outcome survey of 128 students are exemplified by the 95.1% who reported some level of improvement and the 92.2% who rated their psychologist "very" to "exceptionally effective." The construction of deformation mechanism maps for a polycrystalline ionic solid in which anion and cation transport are coupled has been demonstrated. Because of anioncation ambipolar coupling, two regimes of Coble creep are possible in systems where anion grain boundary transport is rapid: (1) rate-controlled at low temperatures and small grain sizes by cation grain-boundary diffusion, and (2) rate-limited at high temperatures and large grain sizes by anion grain-boundary diffusion. A new type of deformation mechanism map was introduced in which the temperature and grain size were primary variables. This map was shown to be particularly useful for materials which deform primarily by diffusional creep mechanisms. Ambipolar diffusional creep theory was used to construct several deformation mechanism maps for polycrystalline MgO and magnesiowustite over wide ranges of stress, grain size, temperature and composition.  相似文献
