The radiative heat transfer in a complex two-dimensional enclosure with obstacles with participating medium is very important in practical engineering applications. In order to deal with this problem, in this study the finite-volume method (FVM) for radiation has been derived using the unstructured grid system. A general discretization equation was formulated by introducing the directional weight and the step scheme for spatial differencing. For its comparison and validation, two test cases, an equilateral triangular enclosure and a square enclosure with baffle, were chosen. Then, more complex and practical cases, such as a semicircular enclosure with cylinder hole, a square enclosure with finned internal cylinder, and a furnace with embedded cooling pipes, were investigated. All the results obtained by the unstructured FVM agreed very well with the exact solutions as well as the results obtained by the zone method. Furthermore, the wiggling behavior occurring in the blocked-off FVM was not produced by the unstructured FVM. Three types of manipulation of control angle overlap were also examined here. It was found that the solutions depended on the type of manipulation of control angle overlap, especially when the number of control angles was small. Usually, both the pixelation method and exact treatment introduced here yielded better solutions than the bold approximation. 相似文献

The issue of CCF (common cause failure) in digital I & C (instrumentation and control) systems is of great interest because an increasing number of such systems are implemented in nuclear power plants. For the mitigation of ATWS (anticipated transients without scram) as well as CCF within the PPS (plant protection system) and the ESF-CCS (engineered safety feature-component control system), the ADPS (advanced diverse protection system) has been developed by KEPCO E & C (KEPCO Engineering and Construction) Company for new nuclear units in Korea. As compared to the DPS (diverse protection system) design of APR1400, the ADPS has a diverse safety injection function considering a LBLOCA (large break loss of coolant accident) concurrent with the CCF of the PPS and ESF-CCS. Besides the function of SIAS (safety injection actuation signal) initiation, several CCF avoidance features, such as the changes of software design classification, communication methods, equipment platform, and man-machine interfaces, are introduced to enhance the reliability of the ADPS. In addition, the ADPS has recently incorporated four redundant channels with 2-out-of-4 voting logics to enhance its fault tolerant capability. Therefore, it is expected that the ADPS can provide an enhanced reliability regarding possible CCFs in the safety-grade digital I & C systems as well as the ADPS itself. 相似文献

Critical heat flux (CHF) tests in a three-rod bundle were carried out, and a CHF database was established in order to obtain an operational license for the three-pin fuel test loop (FTL) in HANARO (High-flux Advanced Neutron Application Reactor). Two kinds of CHF tests are currently being performed for the CANDU and PWR-type fuel test loop. In this study, an experimental work on the CHF tests for the CANDU-type fuel test loop is explained, and a new CHF prediction methodology is proposed. In all, 108 experimental data points have been obtained, and the data are analyzed and compared with the available CHF correlations for a bundle or an annulus geometry. The 1986 AECL look-up table with a bundle correction factor and the Doerffer's correlation for annuli are compared with the present CHF data. It is found that the 1986 AECL look-up table with a bundle correction factor results in a better prediction than the Doerffer's correlation for annuli geometry. A three-pin correction factor is developed to account for the geometric effects of the three-rod bundle and to improve the prediction accuracy. It is concluded that the best estimate thermal hydraulic system code, MARS 3.0, which uses the same look-up table for a CHF prediction, can be used for a safety analysis of the CANDU-type three-pin FTL to obtain a license if it is corrected by the developed three-pin correction factor. 相似文献

Massive blooms of blue-green algae in reservoirs produce the musty-earthy taste and odor, which are caused by compounds such as 2-MIB and geosmin. 2-MIB and geosmin are rarely removed by conventional water treatment. Their presence in the drinking water, even at low levels (ng/L), can be detected and it creates consumer complaints. So those concentrations have to be controlled as low as possible in the drinking water. The removals by oxidation (O3, Cl2, ClO2) and adsorption (PAC, filter/adsorber) were studied at laboratory and pilot plant (50 m3/d) to select suitable 2-MIB and geosmin treatment processes. The following conclusions were derived from the study. Both of the threshold odor levels for 2-MIB and geosmin appeared to be 30 ng/L as a consequence of a lab test. For any given PAC dosage in a jar-test, removal efficiencies of 2-MIB and geosmin were increased in proportion to PAC dosage and were independent of their initial concentration in raw water for the tested PAC dosages. In comparison of geosmin with 2-MIB, the adsorption efficiency of geosmin by PAC was superior to that of 2-MIB. The required PAC dosages to control below the threshold odor level were 30 mg/L for geosmin and 50 mg/L for 2-MIB at 100 ng/L of initial concentration. Removal efficiencies of odor materials by Cl2, ClO2, and O3 were very weak under the limited dosage (1.5 mg/L), however increased ozone dosage (3.8 mg O3/L) showed high removal efficiency (84.8% for 2-MIB) at contact time 6.4 minutes. According to the initial concentrations of 2-MIB and geosmin, their removal efficiencies by filter/adsorber differed from 25.7% to 88.4%. For all those, however, remaining concentrations of target materials in finished waters were maintained below 30 ng/L. The longer run-time given for the filter/adsorber, the higher the effluent concentration generated. So it is necessary that the run-time of the filter/adsorber be decreased, when 2-MIB or geosmin occurs in raw water. 相似文献

In this paper, we consider a new background elimination method for Raman spectra. The proposed method is based on peak detection, smoothing, and interpolation. Since the background is usually slowly varying with respect to wavelength, we could estimate the background by eliminating significant peaks. For this purpose, we seek the peaks by inspecting the smoothed derivative of a given spectrum. After clipping out the corresponding peak regions, we estimate the background by applying a modified linear interpolation. Then the background is eliminated from the measured Raman spectrum by simple subtraction. The experimental results showed that the proposed method gave satisfactory results for real Raman spectra as well as synthetic data. As the proposed method requires no prior knowledge of spectrum, we expect that the method could be applied to other spectral data as well. 相似文献

We present a simple semiconductor process to fabricate nanogap arrays for application in molecular electronics and nano‐bio electronics using a combination of freestanding silicon nanowires and angle evaporation. The gap distance is modulated using the height of the silicon dioxide, the width of the Si nanowires, and the evaporation angle. In addition, we fabricate and apply the nanogap arrays in single‐electron transistors using DNA‐linked Au nanoparticles for the detection of DNA hybridization. 相似文献

This paper illustrates a tissue-equivalent proportional counter designed to have high gas gain and good energy resolution at nanometric simulated site sizes. Microdosimetric neutron and gamma spectra were measured in dimethyl ether and in propane-based tissue-equivalent gas mixture down to 35 nm. Proposed is an all-fibre retro-reflector realised via shaping a fibre end into a right-angled cone for a pump reflector in cladding-pumped fibre lasers. The conical-shaped fibre-optic retro-reflector allows folded, total internal reflections for pump beams that propagate in the inner cladding of a double-clad fibre. The proposed scheme was applied to a cladding-pumped ytterbium-doped fibre laser and readily achieved over 55% of reflection for the unabsorbed pump throughput, thereby generating 29% more signal output power than without the pump retro-reflector 相似文献

In a fin-tube heat exchanger the contact between fin collar and tube surface is obtained through mechanical expansion of tubes. Since the interfaces between the tubes and fins consist partially of metal-to-metal contact and partially of air, the features of heat transfer through the contact interfaces have not been fully investigated. The present study aims at the development of a new tool including an experiment and a numerical calculation for the estimation of the thermal contact conductance between the fin collar and tube surface, and pursues the evaluation of the factors affecting the thermal contact conductance in a fin-tube heat exchanger. Heat exchangers fabricated for the current study have been put to the test for heat balance in a vacuum chamber with water as an internal fluid. And a finite difference numerical scheme has been used for the data reduction of the experimental data to evaluate the thermal contact conductance. Fin-tube heat exchangers employed in the current research are of tube diameter of 7 mm with different tube expansion ratios, fin spacings, and fin types. The results of the present study imply that these parameters as well as hydrophilic fin coating have a significant effect on the thermal contact conductance. It has been discovered that the portion of the thermal contact resistance is not negligible compared with the total thermal resistance in a fin-tube heat exchanger, and this means that in order to reduce the thermal contact resistance thoughtful care should be taken in fabricating heat exchangers. 相似文献

Aluminum nitride (AlN) films were deposited using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) onto sapphire (0001) substrates with varying processing conditions (temperature, pressure, and laser fluence). We have studied the dependence of optical properties, structural properties and their correlations for these AlN films. The optical transmission spectra of the produced films were measured, and a numerical procedure was applied to accurately determine the optical constants for films of non-uniform thickness. The microstructure and texture of the films were studied using various X-ray diffraction techniques. The real part of the refractive index was found to not vary significantly with processing parameters, but absorption was found to be strongly dependent on the deposition temperature and the nitrogen pressure in the deposition chamber. We report that low optical absorption, textured polycrystalline AlN films can be produced by PLD on sapphire substrates at both low and high laser fluence using a background nitrogen pressure of 6.0 × 10− 2 Pa (4.5 × 10− 4 Torr) of 99.9% purity. 相似文献
