A new local elementary interface approximation is introduced for the modeling of wave propagation through interfaces between homogeneous media. The incident wave and the surface profile are approximated locally by a spherical wave and a spherical surface, respectively. The wave field travels through the modulated structure according to the laws of geometrical optics, being refracted by the surface and propagating to the output plane locally as a geometric spherical wave. Diffraction theory is applied to propagate the field from the output plane onwards. We provide comparisons of the method with the thin-element approximation, the local plane-wave and interface approach, and rigorous diffraction theory using a sinusoidal surface-relief grating as an example. We illustrate the power of the new method by applying it to the analysis of a diffractive beam splitter.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose an architecture for secure push services for mobile users that supports common-of-the-shelf (COTS) WLAN base stations. The architecture focuses on the creation of flexible access networks based on easily deployable base stations. The push functionality is realized using client-initiated connections with SIP, and TLS or dTLS for security. The central building block of the distributed system is the edge proxy, which manages and implicitly authenticates all inbound connections, and performs privacy enhancement. The main driving force of our architecture has been airline services, but the system is applicable also for other service domains.  相似文献

Catalytic pyrolysis of spruce sawdust was carried out in a bubbling fluidized-bed reactor using HZSM-5 catalysts. The effects of space velocity, catalyst deactivation, catalyst acidity and catalyst regeneration were studied. The use of catalysts decreased the yield of organic liquids compared to non-catalytic yields while the yields of pyrolytic water and gases increased. Decreasing the space velocity enhanced these effects. The rate of catalyst deactivation depended on the acidity of the catalyst, with more acidic catalysts deactivating more rapidly. Using a catalyst with a Si/Al ratio of 140 resulted in the largest changes in bio-oil properties. Periodic regeneration of the catalyst in the fluidized-bed reactor was also demonstrated using varying regeneration times and temperatures. It was shown that compared to BFB reactors, CFB reactor types would offer better operating characteristics for commercial scale catalytic pyrolysis processes in regard to vapour residence times, and catalyst activity and regeneration.  相似文献

Haptic gestures and sensations through the sense of touch are currently unavailable in remote communication. There are two main reasons for this: good quality haptic technology has not been widely available and knowledge on the use of this technology is limited. To address these challenges, we studied how users would like to, and managed to create spatial haptic information by gesturing. Two separate scenario-based experiments were carried out: an observation study without technological limitations, and a study on gesturing with a functional prototype with haptic actuators. The first study found three different use strategies for the device. The most common gestures were shaking, smoothing and tapping. Multimodality was requested to create the context for the communication and to aid the interpretation of haptic stimuli. The second study showed that users were able to utilize spatiality in haptic messages (e.g., forward–backward gesture for agreement). However, challenges remain in presenting more complex information via remote haptic communication. The results give guidance for communication activities that are usable in spatial haptic communication, and how to make it possible to enable this form of communication in reality.  相似文献

In the present work, we studied the microstructure, phase constitution, and corrosion performance of Al88Pd12, Al77Pd23, Al72Pd28, and Al67Pd33 alloys (metal concentrations are given in at.%). The alloys were prepared by repeated arc melting of Al and Pd granules in argon atmosphere. The as-solidified samples were further annealed at 700 °C for 500 h. The microstructure and phase constitution of the as-solidified and as-annealed alloys were studied by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, and x-ray diffraction. The alloys were found to consist of (Al), ε n (~ Al3Pd), and δ (Al3Pd2) in various fractions. The corrosion testing of the alloys was performed in aqueous NaCl (0.6 M) using a standard 3-electrode cell monitored by potentiostat. The corrosion current densities and corrosion potentials were determined by Tafel extrapolation. The corrosion potentials of the alloys were found between ? 763 and ? 841 mV versus Ag/AgCl. An active alloy dissolution has been observed, and it has been found that (Al) was excavated, whereas Al in ε n was de-alloyed. The effects of bulk chemical composition, phase occurrence and microstructure on the corrosion behavior are evaluated. The local nobilities of ε n and δ are discussed. Finally, the conclusions about the alloy’s corrosion resistance in saline solutions are provided.  相似文献

Polypropylene (PP) composites filled with wood flour (WF) were prepared with a twin‐screw extruder and an injection‐molding machine. Three types of ecologically friendly flame retardants (FRs) based on ammonium polyphosphate were used to improve the FR properties of the composites. The flame retardancy of the PP/WF composites was characterized with thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), vertical burn testing (UL94‐V), and limiting oxygen index (LOI) measurements. The TGA data showed that all three types of FRs could enhance the thermal stability of the PP/WF/FR systems at high temperatures and effectively increase the char residue formation. The FRs could effectively reduce the flammability of the PP/WF/FR composites by achieving V‐0 UL94‐V classification. The increased LOI also showed that the flammability of the PP/WF/FR composites was reduced with the addition of FRs. The mechanical property study revealed that, with the incorporation of FRs, the tensile strength and flexural strength were decreased, but the tensile and flexural moduli were increased in all cases. The presence of maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (MAPP) resulted in an improvement of the filler–matrix bonding between the WF/intumescent FR and PP, and this consequently enhanced the overall mechanical properties of the composites. Morphological studies carried out with scanning electron microscopy revealed clear evidence that the adhesion at the interfacial region was enhanced with the addition of MAPP to the PP/WF/FR composites. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A tunable microwave phase shifter composed of a low-sintering-temperature, screen-printable barium strontium titanate (BST) film and silver metallization was fabricated on an alumina substrate and co-fired at 900 °C for 3 h. The dielectric properties of the films were characterized in a frequency range of 0.8–8 GHz using scattering parameter measurements and a quasi-static coplanar waveguide transmission line model. The temperature dependency of the films was measured through capacitance measurements in a frequency range of 0.5–2.5 GHz. The figure of merit (phase shift/dB of insertion loss) of the phase shifter was found to be 14.6 at 3 GHz with an applied bias field strength of 2.5 V/μm. The performance of the phase shifter is briefly discussed and compared with other phase shifters fabricated by direct screen-printing of BST films.  相似文献

GaAsBi alloy was grown on (1 0 0) GaAs substrate by metalorganic vapour phase epitaxy. GaAsBi film was elaborated with V/III ratio of 9.5, trimethyl bismuth molar flow rate of about 3 μmol/min and a growth temperature of 420 °C. The surface morphology of GaAsBi alloy was investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. Results show surface Bi droplets formation. High-resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD) curves present more diffraction peaks other than that of GaAs substrate. Detailed HRXRD characterization shows that diffraction peaks splitting do not represent a crystallographic tilting with respect to GaAs substrate. Diffraction patterns also show a remarkable stability of the alloy against thermal annealing.  相似文献

Catheter-based radiotherapy to inhibit restenosis after coronary stenting   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
BACKGROUND: In animal models of coronary restenosis, intracoronary radiotherapy has been shown to reduce the intimal hyperplasia that is a part of restenosis. We studied the safety and efficacy of catheter-based intracoronary gamma radiation plus stenting to reduce coronary restenosis in patients with previous restenosis. METHODS: Patients with restenosis underwent coronary stenting, as required, and balloon dilation and were then randomly assigned to receive catheter-based irradiation with iridium-192 or placebo. Clinical follow-up was performed, with quantitative coronary angiographic and intravascular ultrasonographic measurements at six months. RESULTS: Fifty-five patients were enrolled; 26 were assigned to the iridium-192 group and 29 to the placebo group. Angiographic studies were performed in 53 patients (96 percent) at a mean (+/-SD) of 6.7+/-2.2 months. The mean minimal luminal diameter at follow-up was larger in the iridium-192 group than in the placebo group (2.43+/-0.78 mm vs. 1.85+/-0.89 mm, P=0.02). Late luminal loss was significantly lower in the iridium-192 group than in the placebo group (0.38+/-1.06 mm vs. 1.03+/-0.97 mm, P=0.03). Angiographically identified restenosis (stenosis of 50 percent or more of the luminal diameter at follow-up) occurred in 17 percent of the patients in the iridium-192 group, as compared with 54 percent of those in the placebo group (P= 0.01). There were no apparent complications of the treatment. CONCLUSIONS: In this preliminary, short-term study of patients with previous coronary restenosis, coronary stenting followed by catheter-based intracoronary radiotherapy substantially reduced the rate of subsequent restenosis.  相似文献

Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was utilized to characterize the deformation substructure of 304 stainless steel tested for transgranular stress corrosion cracking (TGSCC) in 45 wt pet MgCl2 at 155 °C. The TEM characterization was conducted in thin foils prepared from the fracture surface and from a series of known depths below the fracture surface. The results indicate that the stacking fault energy (SFE) of the material immediately ahead of the crack tip is lowered, with the deformation mode at small distances (a few microns) in front of the growing crack front being entirely coplanar while at larger distances homogeneous. The reduction in the SFE is attributed to absorbed hydrogen formed during the cathodic reaction. Based on this and previous observations of transgranular stress corrosion characteristics of aus-tenitic stainless steels in chloride environments, a “hydrogen-induced cleavage” model is proposed. This model is essentially a modification of a model based on enhanced structural reactivity associated with Lomer-Cottrell locks proposed by Robertson and Tetelmann in 1962.27  相似文献
