This is the first paper in a two-part series that describes a massively parallel code that performs 2D frequency-domain full-waveform inversion of wide-aperture seismic data for imaging complex structures. Full-waveform inversion methods, namely quantitative seismic imaging methods based on the resolution of the full wave equation, are computationally expensive. Therefore, designing efficient algorithms which take advantage of parallel computing facilities is critical for the appraisal of these approaches when applied to representative case studies and for further improvements. Full-waveform modelling requires the resolution of a large sparse system of linear equations which is performed with the massively parallel direct solver MUMPS for efficient multiple-shot simulations. Efficiency of the multiple-shot solution phase (forward/backward substitutions) is improved by using the BLAS3 library. The inverse problem relies on a classic local optimization approach implemented with a gradient method. The direct solver returns the multiple-shot wavefield solutions distributed over the processors according to a domain decomposition driven by the distribution of the LU factors. The domain decomposition of the wavefield solutions is used to compute in parallel the gradient of the objective function and the diagonal Hessian, this latter providing a suitable scaling of the gradient. The algorithm allows one to test different strategies for multiscale frequency inversion ranging from successive mono-frequency inversion to simultaneous multifrequency inversion. These different inversion strategies will be illustrated in the following companion paper. The parallel efficiency and the scalability of the code will also be quantified. 相似文献

A very high temperature furnace (up to 3000 degrees C) for the Knudsen cell mass spectrometry (KCMS) based on a laser heating technique has been developed. It is demonstrated that this system overcomes some of the typical technological problems encountered by the standard methods and can be more easily handled in special environments such as gloveboxes or hot cells. This paper describes the laser heated KCMS general design. The technology of the laser furnace along with its advantages, disadvantages, and applications is presented. The mechanical behavior of films cast from sugar beet cellulose microfibrils was investigated through tensile tests. The obtaining of these microfibrils by chemical and mechanical treatments from the raw beet pulp is described. Depending on their purification level, individualization state, and moisture content, differences in tensile modulus are observed. It is found that pectins act as a binder between the cellulose microfibrils, which tends to increase the Young's modulus in dry atmosphere and to decrease it in moist conditions. The extraction of the cellulose microfibrils from the sugar beet cell wall and the obtainment of microfibril suspensions with partial individualization of the microfibrils by a mechanical treatment lead to the formation of a network of cellulose microfibrils within the film, which in turn increases the tensile modulus. Furthermore, the effect of the remaining pectins is compared with the effect of pectins previously removed and added to completely purified cellulosic microfibrils. In the working space model of machining, an experimental procedure is implemented to determine the elastic behaviour of the machining system. In this paper, a dynamic characterization and vibration analysis has long been used for the detection and identification of the machine tool condition. The natural frequencies of the lathe machining system are required (Ernault HN400??France) according to three different situations with no cutting process are acquired. The system modal analysis is used to identify the natural frequencies. These frequencies are then compared to the ones obtained on the spindle numerical model by finite element method. This work is validated by experimental tests based on measures of the lathe machine tool frequencies domain. The main objective is to identify a procedure giving the natural frequency values for the machine tool components, in order to establish a better condition in the cutting process of the machine tool. 相似文献

This study presents a compensation method in milling machining in order to take into account tool deflection during tool-path generation. Tool deflection that occurs during machining, and especially when flexible tools such as end mills are used, can result in dimensional errors on workpieces. The study presented here is part two of a two-part paper. In part one the cutting force models and the surface prediction method have been presented.Here the focus is on tool deflection effects' integration during the generation of the tool path. A strategy is proposed that modifies the nominal tool trajectory, compensates for the machining errors due to tool deflection, without degrading the production performance and the machined accuracy. The methodology allows optimization of the tool path trajectory in order to achieved a specified tolerance. Some experimental results are presented. 相似文献

Three-dimensional (3-D) tomographic images of a nodular graphite cast iron obtained using a laboratory X-ray source were used to analyze the opening of a fatigue crack during in situ mechanical loading. Direct image analysis and digital image correlation are utilized to obtain the 3-D morphology and front location of the crack, as well as the displacement fields in the bulk of the specimen. From digital image correlation results it is possible to extract the crack opening displacement (COD) map in the whole sample cross-section and to compute stress intensity factors (SIFs) all along the crack front, even for COD values that are less than the image resolution. The comparison of COD maps with local values of the SIF enabled for an estimation of the opening SIF (Kop) equal to 6 MPa m1/2. 相似文献

We present a novel technique for calibrating a zooming camera based on the invariance properties of the normalised image of the absolute conic (NIAC). We show that the camera parameters independent of position, orientation and zooming are determined uniquely by the NIAC, and we exploit these invariance properties to develop a stratified calibration method that decouples the calibration parameters. The method is organised in three steps: (i) computation of the NIAC, (ii) computation of the focal length for each image and (iii) computation of the orientation and the position of the camera. The method requires a minimum of three views of a single planar grid. Experiments with synthetic and real data suggest that the method is competitive with other state-of-the-art plane-based zooming calibration methods in the scenarios considered. 相似文献

In this paper, after having presented some issues related to atm within a lan, we introduce the besteffort service. We then discuss different concepts of flow control to support such a service. After having proposed a definition of fairness, we focus on one flow control mechanism, namely a hop- by hop backpressure scheme. We describe the mechanism and show that it can protect the network against excessive traffic while insuring fairness among the different sources.
