The activation of 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid (3,5-DNBA) in situ is proposed for electrocatalytic detection of NADH at low overpotentials. Thus, 3,5-DNBA was strategically connected to a nanostructured surface based on MWCNTs and PEI (an amine rich polymer). Then, R–NO/R–NHOH was electrogenerated in situ by cycling the potential between 0.15 and −0.55 V versus SCE. The formation of an intermediate charge transfer complex is proposed for the reaction between NADH and redox mediator. The apparent Michaelis–Menten constant (KM) obtained by RDE voltammetry and amperometry was in good agreement, around 10−5 mol L−1. The kobs for the catalytic reaction evaluated by chronoamperometry and RDE voltammetry, was in good agreement and was found to be around 104 L mol−1 s−1. The sensor provides a linear response range for NADH from 4.0 up to 42.0 μmol L−1 with a sensitivity of 71 nA L μmol−1, detection and quantification limits of 1.2 and 4.0 μmol L−1 respectively, with a response time of 0.16 s.  相似文献

Well-dispersed ceria–gadolinia oxide powders were obtained from thoroughly isopropanol-washed coprecipitated hydroxides and oxalates, followed by a controlled drying at low temperature and calcining at 550°C. The characteristics of the calcined powders and the microstructure of the green compacts were found to be of great importance in the sintering behavior. Green bodies with high agglomerate sizes need higher sintering temperatures for attaining a final density >99% D th, while those having soft agglomerates with lower sizes were almost fully densified at a sintering temperature as low as 1250°C. The densification process was studied by isothermal and constant heating rate dilatometry, and microstructural development by scanning electron microscopy. By controlling the processing variables, it was possible to obtain this low-temperature, nearly fully dense (better than 99%) sample with a homogeneous microstructure.  相似文献

The principal goal in early missions of satellite-borne visible spectral radiometry (ocean colour) was to create synoptic fields of phytoplankton biomass indexed as concentration of chlorophyll-a. In the context of climate change, a major application of the results has been in the modelling of primary production and the ocean carbon cycle. It is now recognised that a partition of the marine autotrophic pool into a suite of phytoplankton functional types, each type having a characteristic role in the biogeochemical cycle of the ocean, would increase our understanding of the role of phytoplankton in the global carbon cycle. At the same time, new methods have been emerging that use visible spectral radiometry to map some of the phytoplankton functional types. Here, we assess the state of the art, and suggest paths for future work.  相似文献

In the present investigation, a glassing process for galvanic waste (GW) incorporation with a high chemical stability is presented. Glasses with up to 50 wt% of galvanic solid waste by modifications in the basic composition of soda–lime–borosilicate glasses were prepared. After fusing at temperatures up to 1300°C, the glasses were characterized by inductively coupled plasma, scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, high-temperature microscopy, transmission and reflected light microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction methods. The chemical stability was evaluated by hydrolytic attack assays. Glasses containing up to 40 wt% of GW with a very high chemical stability, similar to bottle glasses, were obtained.  相似文献

Since batch chemical reactors exhibit an integrating response, temperature control for these systems can be a real problem for conventional PID controllers. Tuning can be extremely difficult due to the reduced stability margins proved for this type of processes. In this work, a simple robust control strategy for temperature regulation in batch and semi-batch chemical reactors is proposed. The feedback controller is composed by an approximate I/O linearizing feedback equipped with a calorimetric balance estimator. Based on standard results from singular perturbations, it is proven that the proposed feedback controller (i) can track a bounded temperature trajectory as close as desired (i.e., practical stability) by adjusting a single estimation parameter, and (ii) after a short transient, the performance of the exact I/O linearizing feedback can be recovered as the calorimetric balance estimation rate is increased.  相似文献

Front Ends for Open and Closed User Systems (FOCUS) is an ESPRIT/2 (no. 2620) project aimed at designing tools and techniques for the construction of knowledge-based front ends (KBFEs) for open-user systems (reusable software components, libraries, etc) and closed-user systems (free-standing software, packages, etc). An important part of the project involves the establishment of an architecture for KBFEs and the specification of the KBFE/back-end interface. This paper describes the properties and related issues of such an interface, known as the back-end manager (BEM), and its relationship to the proposed KBFE architecture.  相似文献

Aligned multi-walled carbon nanotube forests were grown by chemical vapour deposition on carbon fibers by the use of an amorphous Si interface. The Si layer creates a barrier, hindering the Fe catalyst diffusion into the carbon fibers. This method provides a way to tailor the thermal, electrical and mechanical properties of the fiber-resin interface of a polymer composite.  相似文献

Two of the National Parks of the only Biosphere Reserve in the Caribbean Islands, the Jaragua-Bahoruco-Enriquillo reserve, occur mostly within the Pedernales province (Dominican Republic). In these National Parks, Jaragua and Bahoruco, almost every tropical forest ecosystem is represented, as are the land uses most common to the Dominican Republic. Despite soil being a key natural resource that needs to be considered in any sustainable development programme, the literature contains very little information on the soils of this region. In this study, we analysed 41 topsoil samples representing the main forest types and land uses of the province. The factors examined were fertility (OM, N, P, K) and heavy metal contents (Cu, Cr, Pb, Cd, Ni, Zn). Mean OM, N and total and available metal levels were almost invariably higher in the natural forest soils compared to those given over to human activities, especially cultivated soils. This difference suggests the uptake of metals by the crops and, to a lesser extent, by animals feeding on crop remains and grassland plants. This hypothesis is supported by high total and available metal contents, especially of Zn, Cu, Pb and, in smaller measure, of Cr recorded in the solid waste landfill of the city of Pedernales. It appears that the cutting down and burning practices of a nomad type of cultivation, as well as the pressures of intensive agriculture and livestock rearing have resulted in heavy metals bound to the soil's OM. We propose this is an important point to consider for the management of these lands.  相似文献
