Most research with 31P-magnetic resonance spectroscopy (31P-MRS) in affective disorders has been done in the field of bipolar disturbances. Reduced frontal and temporal lobe phosphomonoester (PME) concentrations were measured in the euthymic state, whereas increased values were found in the depressed state. In bipolar-II patients reduced phosphocreatine (PCr) concentrations were reported in the euthymic, depressed, and manic state. The aim of the present study was to explore whether PME and PCr were also altered in the frontal lobe of major depressed, unipolar patients. Therefore, we used 31P-MRS to investigate the relative phospholipid and high-energy phosphate concentrations in the frontal lobe of 14 unipolar patients, mostly medicated, and 8 age-matched controls. We found increased PME and decreased ATP values. Other 31P-MRS parameters were not different in both groups. Phosphomonoester percentages correlated negatively with the degree of depression. Thus, the main alterations found in bipolar depressed patients could also be demonstrated in unipolar depressed patients. The results are discussed with regard to disturbed phospholipid and intracellular high-energy phosphate metabolism in depressed patients.  相似文献

Acoustic emission (AE) and microseismic (MS) events are indicators of rock fracturing or damage as the rock is brought to failure at high stress. By capturing the AE/MS events, underground excavation induced rock mass degradation or damage can be located and evaluated. A better understanding of the extent and shape of the excavation damaged zone (EDZ) or yield zone around caverns helps to arrive at safe and economic design and construction of the caverns. For this purpose, one needs to understand the AE mechanism associated with the excavation process.In the present study, a coupled numerical method is used to study AE at the Kannagawa underground powerhouse cavern in Japan. Two codes, Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua (FLAC), a finite difference code and Particle Flow Code (PFC), a distinct element code, are coupled. The motive to apply the FLAC/PFC coupled approach is to take advantage of each modeling scheme while at the same time minimizing the requirement for computational resources. The coupling is realized through an exchange of displacements, velocities, and forces in each cycling step. The rock mass surrounding an AE sensor is modeled using PFC and the remaining rock mass is modeled with FLAC to consider the geological complexity and the excavation sequence. In this manner, the AE activities at AE sensor locations of the Kannagawa cavern were simulated and found to be in good agreement with field monitoring results. This approach takes account of stress redistribution and provides stress and displacement patterns in the rock mass that are consistent with AE observations for excavation design. The observed AE activities in the rock mass can thus be utilized to assess the effectiveness of the rock support system and the overall stability of the cavern.  相似文献

A third-order G/sub m/-C Butterworth low-pass filter implementing G/sub m/-tuning and G/sub m/-switching to maximize the tuning range is described. This filter is intended to be used as a channel-selection/anti-aliasing filter in the analog baseband part of a zero-IF radio receiver architecture for multimode mobile communications. Its G/sub m/-switching feature allows extending the tuning range and adapting the power consumption. The filter's cutoff frequency ranges from 50 kHz to 2.2 MHz. An Input IP3 of up to +18 dBV/sub p/ is achieved, for a total worst-case power consumption of 7.3 mW for both I and Q paths, and an effective area of less than 0.5 mm/sup 2/ in a 0.25-/spl mu/m SiGe BiCMOS process. A new figure of merit is introduced for comparison of published low-pass tunable filters including noise, linearity, and tuning range.  相似文献

Using atomic force microscopy (AFM) as a nanomanipulation tool has been discussed for more than a decade. However, its lack of real-time visual feedback during manipulation has hindered its wide application. Fortunately, this problem has been overcome by our recently developed augmented reality system. By locally updating the AFM image based on real-time force information during manipulation, not only can this new system provide real-time force feedback but also real-time visual feedback. The real-time visual display combined with the real-time force feedback provides an augmented reality environment, in which the operator not only can feel the interaction forces but also observe the real-time changes of the nano-environment. This augmented reality system capable of nanolithography and manipulation of nano-particles helps the operator to perform several operations without the need of a new image scan, which makes AFM-based nano-assembly feasible and applicable.  相似文献

One of the important issues in the implementation of the differential quadrature method is the imposition of the given boundary conditions. There may be multiple boundary conditions involving higher‐order derivatives at the boundary points. The boundary conditions can be imposed by modifying the weighting coefficient matrices directly. However, the existing method is not robust and is known to have many limitations. In this paper, a systematic procedure is proposed to construct the modified weighting coefficient matrices to overcome these limitations. The given boundary conditions are imposed exactly. Furthermore, it is found that the numerical results depend only on those sampling grid points where the differential quadrature analogous equations of the governing differential equations are established. One of the major goals in designing learning robots is to let these robots develop useful skills over time. These skills are not only related to physical actions of the robot, but also to the coordination of activities, communication with humans, and active sensing. Throughout this paper, the interdependency between these different kinds of skills is analyzed. For the case of elementary action skills and coordination skills, methods for inegration of skill application and refinement are developed. In skiing there is principally no difference between the operating mechanism of a ski-racer and a skier who masters the technic of carving. Both try to ski with as less sliding as possible. The pressure distribution on the ski in a curve is very important. Near the end of the curve the pressure on the edge of the ski must be increased through various methods, on the one hand to avoid sliding and on the other hand to prepare the next curve correctly. In mastering the necessary mechanism of movements, the carving with the more wasted skis will be easier, because it is not necessary to put as much pressure on the last section of the ski, as it is necessary with the original skies to have the same result. Therefore even the holiday-skier has the possibility with carving-skis to master the ski-technic of the ski-racer and to have the pleasure of carving instead of sliding.  相似文献
