In order to investigate the detailed structure of a banded spherulite observed by polarized light microscopy, we develop a new image processing technique that can visualize defects (band defects) in the concentric bands and determine the growing directions of crystals everywhere in a spherulite. This technique is applied to a banded spherulite of poly(vinylidene fluoride) and reveals that the spherulite has many defects (colliding defects), on which crystals collide with neighboring ones. It is found that the band defects are included in the colliding defects. The number of colliding defects increases linearly with the radius to give a constant density. Between the defects, the orientations of crystals are well correlated to form a coherent area. On the basis of these findings, a mechanism of the formation of the coherent band pattern is discussed.  相似文献

For the banded spherulites of poly(∈-caprolactone), PCL, grown from the blends with miscible polymers of polyvinyl butyral and poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile), the effects of blended amorphous polymers on the band spacing have been examined experimentally. The results reconfirmed the strong influence of the second components even with small amount (c.a. 0.09 wt%). For the crystallization under the strong influence of the second components probably on the lamellar surface, we have examined the applicability of our modeling of spherulitic growth and its limit. Important findings in this paper are the followings: 1) On the confirmation of the applicability of the modeling for the amount of the second component small enough and the band spacing long enough. 2) On the violation of the predicted relationship of the modeling with increasing amount of the second component, which caused sharp decrease in the band spacing. 3) On the observation of the lower bound of the band spacing, to which the band spacing approached with the increase in the second component. With approaching the lower bound, the band spacing eventually became independent of other growth conditions such as crystallization temperature.  相似文献

A novel interferometric fiber-optic gyroscope with amplified optical feedback by an Er-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) is proposed and theoretically investigated (the proposed gyroscope is named the feedback EDFA-FOG, FE-FOG in what follows). The FE-FOG functions like a resonant fiber-optic gyro (R-FOG) because of its multiple utilization of the Sagnac loop; however, it is completely different because a low-coherence light source is used. In addition, the gyro output signal is pulsed because the modulation frequency of the phase modulator placed in the Sagnac loop is selected to match the total round-trip time delay of the light, which includes the Sagnac-loop delay plus that of the feedback loop of the fiber amplifier. The sharpness of the output pulse can be adjusted by both the gain of an EDFA and the modulation depth of the phase modulator. When rotation occurs the peak position of the output pulse is shifted as a result of the Sagnac effect. The resolution of the rotation measurement depends on the sharpness of the output pulse. The techniques of both the open-loop and closed-loop methods are described in detail, which shows the great advantage of the proposed gyroscope over the to the conventional interferometric fiber-optical gyroscope (I-FOG).  相似文献

An enhancement in the external quantum efficiency (QE) of red phosphorescent organic light‐emitting devices (OLEDs) by using facially encumbered and bulky meso‐aryl substituted PtII porphyrin complexes is demonstrated. The maximum external QEs of phosphorescent OLEDs doped with the facially non‐encumbered PtII porphyrin complex 1 [5,15‐bis[4‐(4,4‐dimethyl‐2,6‐dioxacyclohexyl)phenyl]‐2,8,12,18‐tetrahexyl‐3,7,13,17‐tetramethylporphyrin platinum(II )], the facially encumbered PtII porphyrin complex 2 [5,15‐bis(2,6‐dimethoxyphenyl)‐2,8,12,18‐tetrahexyl‐3,7,13,17‐tetramethylporphyrinato platinum(II )], the PtII porphyrin complex 3 that bears bulkier 3,5‐di‐tert‐butylphenyl substituents [5,15‐bis(3,5‐di‐t‐butylphenyl)‐2,8,12,18‐tetrahexyl‐3,7,13,17‐tetramethylporphyrin platinum(II )], and the “doubly‐decamethylene‐strapped” PtII porphyrin complex 4 were 1, 4.2, 7.3, and 8.2 %, respectively. The trend of increasing QE values in the order of 1 < 2 < 3 < 4 may be related to facial encumbrance and steric bulkiness of meso‐aryl substituted PtII porphyrin complexes. Especially, in the case of the PtII porphyrin 4 , it is considered that the “double straps” play an important role in restricting rotational freedom of the meso‐aryl substituents. The triplet excited‐state lifetimes for PtII porphyrins 1 – 4 in OLEDs at an injection current density of 0.55 mA cm–2 were 80, 103, 140, and 152 μs, respectively. We believe that the trend of increasing triplet lifetime in going from 1 to 4 is correlated with suppressing non‐radiative decay.  相似文献

In the forthcoming future, various means of wireless communication, such as cellular, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, and DSRC, will be available to mobile users and applications. With the development of wireless communication and mobile devices, more and more users and applications will be accommodated in mobile environment. Since mobile users and applications compete for the limited wireless resources whose communication quality dynamically change, we need an adaptive mechanism for mobile users and applications to share the available network resources while satisfying each application?s QoS requirements. In this paper, we propose an adaptive resource allocation mechanism where each node autonomously determines wireless network resources to assign to each of networked applications running on it. For this purpose, we adopt an attractor composition model, which is based on an autonomous and adaptive behavior of biological systems. Through numerical analysis, we confirmed that our mechanism could adaptively and stably allocate wireless network resources to applications, while considering their QoS requirements and fairly sharing network resources with other nodes. It also is shown that our mechanism superiors to a mechanism where a node determines resource allocation by solving an optimization problem.  相似文献

A 78-year-old man developed herpes zoster virus (HZV) encephalitis. Initially, treatment with aciclovir (750 mg per day) improved CSF cell count and protein level. During the treatment, however, encephalitis in the patient deteriorated in spite of the treatment with aciclovir, suggesting that HZV in the patient had become resistant to aciclovir. Subsequent treatment with vidarabine (600 mg per day, for 15 days) resulted in dramatic improvement in CSF pleocytosis. About two months after the discontinuation of vidarabine, the CSF cell count was normal. The patient became alert gradually, but his amnestic syndrome remained unchanged. Vidarabine may be recommended in the treatment of HZV encephalitis when aciclovir is not effective.  相似文献
