Adsorption of specifically designed and geometrically constrained polyaromatic amphiphiles on single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) was found to be selective of the nanotube helicity angle. Starting from the same SWNT mixture, photoluminescence and resonant Raman spectroscopies show that a pentacenic-based amphiphile leads to the solubilization of armchair SWNTs and that a quaterrylene-based amphiphile leads to the solubilization of zigzag SWNTs. The results were predicted by the design of the two amphiphiles and are consistent with a supramolecular recognition of the nanotube graphene-type atomic structure by the aromatic part of the molecules through optimized pi-pi-stacking interactions.  相似文献

The purity of single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) is a key parameter for their integration in electronic, optoelectronic and photonic devices. Samples of pristine SWNTs are inhomogeneous in terms of electric behavior and diameter and contain a variety of amorphous carbon and catalyst residues. To obtain high performance devices, purification of SWNTs is required. Conjugated polymers have emerged as efficient solubilizing and sorting agents for small diameter SWNTs (HiPco tubes, 0.7 nm<Ø<1.1 nm). Nevertheless, reports on polymers able to efficiently sort large diameter SWNTs with Ø>1.1 nm are lacking. Several pyridine‐containing copolymers were synthesized for this purpose and showed efficient and selective extraction of semiconducting large diameter SWNTs (PLV tubes, Ø>1.1 nm). High concentration and high purity suspensions are obtained without the use of ultracentrifugation, which gives an up‐scaling potential of the method. The emission wavelength is in near infrared region around 1550 nm and fits with broadly used telecommunication wavelength window. The processes taking place at the interface were simulated by a newly designed hybrid coarse‐grain model combining density functional theory and geometrical calculation to yield insights into the wrapping processes with an unprecedented level of details for such large diameter SWNTs.  相似文献

Singly charged amines and sulfonic acids as cationic and anionic aliphatic model substances, respectively, were detected in capillary electrophoresis with all-solid-state ion-selective electrodes. The sensitivity for these compounds is a function of their lipophilicity. The signal detected is generally greater for molecules with a larger organic part. The utility of the method is further demonstrated by the detection of a group of aromatic compounds in the form of the anionic analgesics (S)-(+)-2-(4-isobutylphenyl)propionic acid, 2-[(2,6-dichlorophenyl)amino]benzeneacetic acid, and o-acetylsalicylic acid. Further determined were the artificial sweeteners cyclamate, acesulfame-K, and saccharin. Detection limits for the different substances were between 2.5 × 10(-)(6) and 1 × 10(-)(5) M.  相似文献

Before carrying out inspections on technical components, criteria have to be met to qualify the inspection procedure. The inspection qualification can be performed by technical justification or performance demonstration. The qualification of non-destructive testing methods can be checked on full scale mock-ups where real or realistic defects are implemented. To minimize costs it will become mandatory to model the inspection procedure. In the case of ultrasonic testing, the modelling includes the ultrasonic probe, the pulse-defect interaction and the probe geometry. The applied modelling code is the elastodynamic finite integration technique (EFIT) which includes mode conversion effects. The results of the code are either wave fields, A-scans at different probe positions or complete r.f. data fields. Examples demonstrate the efficiency in modelling angle beam probes which transmit both pressure, shear and subsurface longitudinal waves. These waves are scattered by horizontal or surface breaking cracks. The modelled r.f. data fields are used within the synthetic aperture focusing approach to predict the ultrasonic image which would be obtained in performing the experiment. In addition it will be shown that the EFIT wave fronts for anisotropic homogeneous media are explicitly related to the group velocity in these media.  相似文献

We present an approach to jointly estimating camera motion and dense structure of a static scene in terms of depth maps from monocular image sequences in driver-assistance scenarios. At each instant of time, only two consecutive frames are processed as input data of a joint estimator that fully exploits second-order information of the corresponding optimization problem and effectively copes with the non-convexity due to both the imaging geometry and the manifold of motion parameters. Additionally, carefully designed Gaussian approximations enable probabilistic inference based on locally varying confidence and globally varying sensitivity due to the epipolar geometry, with respect to the high-dimensional depth map estimation. Embedding the resulting joint estimator in an online recursive framework achieves a pronounced spatio-temporal filtering effect and robustness. We evaluate hundreds of images taken from a car moving at speed up to 100 km/h and being part of a publicly available benchmark data set. The results compare favorably with two alternative settings: stereo based scene reconstruction and camera motion estimation in batch mode using multiple frames. They, however, require a calibrated camera pair or storage for more than two frames, which is less attractive from a technical viewpoint than the proposed monocular and recursive approach. In addition to real data, a synthetic sequence is considered which provides reliable ground truth.  相似文献

Retroviral integrase (IN) is expressed and incorporated into virions as part of the Gag-Pol polyprotein precursor. IN catalyzes integration of the proviral DNA into host cell chromosomes during the early stages of the virus life cycle, and as a component of Gag-Pol, it is involved in virion morphogenesis during late stages. It is unknown whether the scheme, conserved among retroviruses, for expressing and incorporating IN as a component of the Gag-Pol precursor protein is necessary for its function in the infected cell after viral entry. We have developed human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) virion-associated accessory proteins (Vpr and Vpx) as vehicles to deliver both foreign and viral proteins into the virus particle by their expression in trans as heterologous fusion proteins (X. Wu, et al., J. Virol. 69:3389-3398, 1995; X. Wu, et al., J. Virol. 70:3378-3384, 1996; X. Wu, et al., EMBO J. 16:5113-5122, 1977). To analyze IN function independent of its expression as a part of Gag-Pol, we expressed and incorporated IN into HIV type 1 (HIV-1) virions in trans as a fusion partner of Vpr (Vpr-IN). Our results demonstrate that the Vpr-IN fusion protein is efficiently incorporated into virions and then processed by the viral protease to liberate the IN protein. Virus derived from IN-minus provirus is noninfectious. However, this defect is overcome by trans complementation with the Vpr-IN fusion protein. Moreover, complemented virions are able to replicate through a complete cycle of infection, including formation of the provirus (integration). These results show, for the first time, that full IN function can be provided in trans, independent of its expression and incorporation into virions as a component of Gag-Pol. This finding also indicates that the IN domain of Gag-Pol is not required for the formation of infectious virions when IN is provided in trans. The ability to incorporate functional IN into retroviral particles in trans will provide unique opportunities to explore the function of this critical enzyme in a biologically relevant context, i.e., in infected cells as part of the nucleoprotein/preintegration complex.  相似文献

A second-generation linkage map of the bovine genome   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We report a bovine linkage map constructed with 1236 polymorphic DNA markers and 14 erythrocyte antigens and serum proteins. The 2990-cM map consists of a sex-specific, X chromosome linkage group and 29 sex-averaged, autosomal linkage groups with an average interval size of 2.5 cM. The map contains 627 new markers and 623 previously linked markers, providing a basis for integrating the four published bovine maps. Orientation and chromosomal assignment of all the linkage groups, except BTA20 and BTA22, was provided by 88 markers that were assigned previously to chromosomes. This map provides sufficient marker density for genomic scans of populations segregating quantitative trait loci (QTL) and subsequent implementation of marker-assisted selection (MAS) mating schemes.  相似文献

We report the placement of 34 new microsatellite (ms) markers, isolated from a lambda phage genomic clone library, on the bovine genetic map by linkage to published markers. Five of these markers lie at or near the ends of linkage groups and are used to establish chromosomal coverage and orientation. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis demonstrates that the linkage groups on the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (MARC) map extend to the telomeric region of Chromosomes (Chrs) 7 and 10. Linkage groups on Chrs 4, 6, and 14 appear to be less inclusive.  相似文献
