In a wireless sensor network (WSN), after gathering information, tiny sensor nodes need to transmit data to a sink. It is important to guarantee that each node can communicate with a sink. Due to the multi-hop communication of WSNs, an essential condition for reliable transmission is completely connectivity of a network. Adaptive or smart antenna (SA) techniques in WSNs have been a topic of active research in recent years. These techniques have been shown to be effective with respect to decreasing energy consuming via specified regions which are formed by the SA beams. In this paper, we propose a probabilistic technique to determine the network connectivity probability of the SA integrated WSN. We employ the geometric shape model to evaluate the network connectivity probability of the WSN using the SA beam specifications. The sensor node density to satisfy the desired network connectivity is determined in terms of the beam-width of the antenna array and node transmission range. The analytical results agree with the simulation results by less than 4.7 % error in the average.  相似文献

Within the last two decades, modelling of rainfall–runoff has become an important topic in water resources assessment due to increasing water demand and energy, particularly in the determination of hydropower potential. In addition to remote sensing (RS) and geographical information systems (GIS), with the development on satellite technologies, it becomes possible to asses rapid and economic solutions to determine a practical rainfall–runoff relation, particularly poorly gauged or ungauged basins. In this paper, Solakli Watershed which is located in Eastern Black Sea Region of Turkey is selected as the study area. To determine the hydroelectric water potential in a poorly gauged basin, basin boundary and area, minimum maximum and mean elevation, slope information of the basin have been derived from the digital elevation model (DEM) using remote sensing (RS) and geographical information systems (GIS) techniques. IRS P5 stereo satellite data with 2.5-m spatial resolution has been used for deriving the DEM. This DEM is used to produce the flow direction and flow accumulation maps of the basin. Afterward, synthetic drainage network is obtained with the analysis of these maps. Using topographical data such as area, mean basin elevation and limited point observations of rainfall data; a regression model was derived for the whole watershed. This regression model was validated on a sub-basin with satisfactory results using mean areal rainfall which was calculated isohyetal map produced by kriging method. Suggested hydropower station points are also determined.  相似文献

In this work, a 6/4 permanent magnet reluctance generator (PMRG) with Alnico magnets is designed for small‐scale wind energy conversion systems and its performance is analyzed by finite element analysis. A simple converter topology is proposed to protect the Alnico magnets from demagnetization. Thus, NdFeB magnets, which are predominantly used in electric machines, can be directly replaced by Alnico magnets without changing the size or location. Since Alnico magnets are very cheap, the design cost can be significantly reduced without losing much from the generator performance. © 2016 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. In this study, ferrochromium (FeCr) slag, which is available as an industrial waste, is proposed as a protective surface coating material particularly for protection of continuous casting rolls against oxidation. FeCr slag was successfully deposited with atmospheric plasma spray (APS) method. Before the coating process, FeCr slag powder prepared in the particle size range of 5‐38 μm, was investigated using conventional characterization methods (XRD, SEM, TGA etc.). Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC) system was used as a basis for deposition processes. Accordingly, NiCoCrAlY (Amdry, ?45 + 5 μm) was firstly deposited as metallic bond coat layer onto the surface of AISI 420 substrate, and then FeCr slag layer was deposited as the top coating layer. After the deposition of FeCr slag powder, the resulting coating layer was found to have low porosity with a homogeneous microstructure. The deposited FeCr slag coatings were subjected to isothermal oxidation tests at different temperatures and test durations for determination of their oxidation behavior and upper operating temperature limits. The results obtained from this study indicate that FeCr slag can be considered as an alternative protective coating material for caster rolls which are subjected to high temperatures up to 800°C.  相似文献

Thixoforging combined with low superheat casting (LSC) is a promising shaping process for aluminium casting alloys. LSC process is based on rapid solidification of an alloy which cast with low pouring temperature. With this method, a feedstock material is produced with non-dendritic microstructure that ready for spherisation in reheating sequence of further semi-solid process. Al-Si alloys are still castable even at low temperatures due to their excellent fluidities. This study subjects to present spherisation of A356 and A380 alloy billets cast with LSC process that provides appropriate beginning material with relatively high sphericity. Obtained billet parts were reheated for different times at a semi-solid state temperature. Some of these billets were directly quenched for observing the effects of reheating and the others were thixoforged. With sufficient reheating time, deformation of thixoforging process did not significantly affect on the spherical microstructure. Unnecessarily long reheating period caused excessive grain growth. A356 alloy had higher spherisation tendency than A380 alloy under similar process conditions.  相似文献

Porosity determinations in thermally sprayed hydroxyapatite coatings   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The porosity of various thermally sprayed coatings was determined using an Archimedian Method. The method relies on density determinations and buoyancy effects. First, measurements were carried out on standard samples in order to verify the accuracy and reliability of the Archimedian method. Then, porosity measurements were taken for hydroxyapatite samples and correlated to its physical properties. The results from the experiments show that as the crystallinity of the HAp increases, the porosity increases. Also, as the amorphous content increases, porosity decreases. Other relationships indicated that the porosity decreased as the stand off distance increased and it decreased with a power increase.  相似文献

Fungi that cause brown rot of wood are essential biomass recyclers and also the principal agents of decay in wooden structures, but the extracellular mechanisms by which they degrade lignocellulose remain unknown. To test the hypothesis that brown-rot fungi use extracellular free radical oxidants as biodegradative tools, Gloeophyllum trabeum was examined for its ability to depolymerize an environmentally recalcitrant polyether, poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO), that cannot penetrate cell membranes. Analyses of degraded PEOs by gel permeation chromatography showed that the fungus cleaved PEO rapidly by an endo route. 13C NMR analyses of unlabeled and perdeuterated PEOs recovered from G. trabeum cultures showed that a major route for depolymerization was oxidative C---C bond cleavage, a reaction diagnostic for hydrogen abstraction from a PEO methylene group by a radical oxidant. Fenton reagent (Fe(II)/H2O2) oxidized PEO by the same route in vitro and therefore might account for PEO biodegradation if it is produced by the fungus, but the data do not rule out involvement of less reactive radicals. The reactivity and extrahyphal location of this PEO-degrading system suggest that its natural function is to participate in the brown rot of wood and that it may enable brown-rot fungi to degrade recalcitrant organopollutants.  相似文献

This paper presents a comprehensive review of thin-layer drying-curve models available in the literature and their comparisons for single-layer drying applications from 2003 to 2013. In this regard, a total of 67 models are selected and classified under 28 performance assessment criteria for comparison purposes. These models are then evaluated by considering the following parameters: (1) product type; (2) pretreatment type; (3) drying parameters, such as temperature, air velocity, layer thickness, microwave power levels, amount of solar radiation, vacum pressure, frequency of sound wave, excitation amplitude, relative humidity, bed depth, product shape, pH, salt content, absolute pressure, etc.; and (4) drying method employed. Furthermore, the best models obtained are employed for product drying applications and compared for different drying methods, drying parameters, and dried products.  相似文献
