Uncertainty management in dynamical systems is receiving attention in artificial intelligence, particularly in the fields of qualitative and model based reasoning. Fuzzy dynamical systems occupy a very important position in the class of uncertain systems. It is well established that the fuzzy dynamical systems represented by a set of fuzzy differential inclusions (FDI) are very convenient tools for modeling and simulation of various uncertain systems. In this paper, we discuss about the mathematical modeling of two very complex natural phenomena by means of FDIs. One of them belongs to the atmospheric cybernetics (the term has been used in a broad sense) of the genesis of a cyclonic storm (cyclogenesis), and the other belongs to the bio-medical cybernetics of the evolution of tumor in a human body. Since a discussion of the former already appears in a previous paper by the first author, here, we present very briefly a theoretical formalism of cyclone formation. On the other hand, we treat the latter system more elaborately. We solve the FDIs with the help of an algorithm developed in this paper to numerically simulate the mathematical models. From the simulation results thus obtained, we have drawn a number of interesting conclusions, which have been verified, and this vindicates the validity of our models.  相似文献

A new classification of path-delay fault testability in a combinational circuit is presented in terms of testability of stuck-at faults in an equivalent circuit. Earlier results describing correlation of path-delay and stuck-at faults are either incomplete, or use a complex model of equivalent circuit based on timing parameters. It is shown here that a path-delay fault (rising or falling) is testable if and only if certain single or multiple stuck-at fault in the equivalent circuit is testable. Thus, all aspects of path-delay faults related to testability under various classification schemes can be interpreted using the stuck-at fault model alone. The results unify most of the existing concepts and provide a better understanding of path-delay faults in logic circuits.  相似文献

An uninterrupted cold chain is a continual series of storage and distribution activities that maintain a specific temperature or temperature range. Cold chain solutions typically involve excessive packaging to ensure that the desired product temperature is maintained through the distribution process, thereby increasing the logistics‐related costs. There is a myriad of solutions available for shipping temperature‐sensitive products, including those constructed with a variety of packaging materials as well as refrigerants. Although static characteristics for thermally insulated packaging solutions such as the R‐values of package systems as well as the melting points and heat absorption rates of various refrigerants have been studied in the past, none of the past studies have evaluated the effect of comprehensive distribution on the reliability of the cold chain packaging solutions. This research was undertaken to study the temperature profiles for factors such as different densities for a given thickness of thermally insulating material, wall thicknesses and distribution environments for four different types of materials—polyurethane, virgin expanded polystyrene, recycled content expanded polystyrene and vacuum‐insulated panels. The temperature range of 2 °C–8 °C, critical for pharmaceutical drugs and vaccines, was targeted. An interesting regression‐based finding was that the interaction between the R‐value and the wall thickness significantly influenced the length of time the thermally insulated packages stayed in the desired range of 2 °C–8 °C . The findings of this study will be decisive in designing cost‐efficient and practical single‐use cold chain transportation solutions for temperature‐sensitive products. This paper presents a new design of multi micro manipulation system using ionic polymer metal composite (IPMC) micro grippers for robotic micro assembly where IPMC is used as a light weight actuator for developing the micro grippers. It has the potential of large displacement, low mass force generation and misalignment compensation ability during micro manipulation. These capabilities are utilized for handling of miniature parts like pegs. The analysis of IPMC micro gripper and manipulator are carried out for developing a multi micro manipulation system that can handle pegs in micro assembly operation for shifting one to another hole position in a large work space (100 mm × 100 mm). By developing a prototype, it is demonstrated that IPMC based micro grippers are capable of handling the peg-in-hole assembly tasks in a multi micro manipulation system.  相似文献

In this research work, electrical conductivity of a novel cast 6351 Al–Al4SiC4 composite has been studied for varying Al4SiC4 particle content (2–7 vol%). Analytical models were developed on the basis of free electron theory and local resistance approach in order to predict electrical conductivity of metal matrix composites. The electrical conductivity of cast 6351 Al–Al4SiC4 composite was found to decrease with increasing Al4SiC4 content. Overprediction of results and more % deviation of the predicted electrical conductivity from experimental value were observed for local-resistance-approach-based model. However, the model developed on the basis of electron theory considering scattering of electrons at particle–matrix interface accurately predicted the experimental electrical conductivity data.  相似文献

Uncertain information processing by fuzzy if–then rules has received much attention. Here we have taken a different path to model a system, about which we do not have precise information, namely modelling the system by fuzzy-valued functions without resorting to fuzzy if–then rules. As a result, the phase (state) space of the system becomes a fuzzy set and the underlying fuzzy mapping becomes a fuzzy attainability set mapping. Uncertain or fuzzy dynamical systems have been defined in terms of fuzzy attainability set mappings. Fuzzy differentiable dynamical systems have been discussed with a particular emphasis on fuzzy differential inclusion (FDI) relations. An evolutionary algorithm for solving one-dimensional FDIs has been developed. A model of the creation of a tropical cyclone in the form of a vortex, created by winds coming from different directions and colliding under certain conditions, has been proposed in terms of FDIs. A model has been considered for the highly uncertain system of evolution of a tumour in a human body and an FDI relation model of the whole system has been proposed and simulated. The model of an evolution of turbulence, as a random occurrence of vortices in a three-dimensional dynamic fluid, has been proposed and simulated, where each vortex is modelled by a fuzzy-valued function, where uncertain parameter and variable values are fuzzy numbers. All the systems represented by FDI relations have been simulated with the help of the evolutionary algorithm mentioned above.  相似文献
