Alphonso is a highly favoured and exported mango cultivar among the vast mango germplasm of India. Being a climacteric fruit, ethylene plays an important role in ripening of mango. For deeper understanding of effect of pre-climacteric ethylene treatment on volatile profiles of Alphonso mango, 26 volatiles were tracked through six ripening stages of pulp and skin of ethylene-treated and control Alphonso fruits. The study revealed accelerated ripening in terms of early appearance of ripening-specific compounds, lactones and mesifuran, upon ethylene treatment. While the level of lactones remained unaffected, the mesifuran level vastly increased upon ethylene treatment. Skin showed high terpene content while pulp had higher amount of lactones compared to skin. This work points towards involvement of ethylene as a natural hormone in the biosynthesis of lactones and furanones in naturally ripened fruits; whereas, an increase in the terpene level during ripening appears to be independent of ethylene.  相似文献

The paper presents the experimental results showing that the crystalline phase of the nano-particles, synthesized in a DC transferred arc thermal plasma reactor, critically depend on the operating pressure in the reaction zone. The paper reports about the changes in crystalline phases of three different compounds namely: aluminium oxide (Al2O3), aluminium nitride (AlN) and iron oxide (FexOy) synthesized at 760 Torr and 500 Torr of operating pressures. The major outcome of the present work is that the phases having higher defect densities are more probable to form at the sub-atmospheric operating pressures. The variations in the crystalline structures are discussed on the basis of the change in the temperature during the nucleation process, prevailing at the boundary of the plasma, on account of the ambient pressures. The as-synthesized nano-particles were examined by X-ray diffraction analysis and transmission electron microscopy. In addition, the confirmatory analysis of the crystalline phases of iron oxides was carried out with the help of Mössbauer spectroscopy.  相似文献

Complex systems generally have many components. It is not possible to understand such complex systems only by knowing the individual components and their behavior. This is because any move by a component affects the further decisions/moves by other components and so on. In a complex system, as the number of components grows, complexity also grows exponentially, making the entire system to be seen as a collection of subsystems or a Multi-Agent System (MAS). The major challenge is to make these agents work in a coordinated way, optimizing their local utilities and contributing the maximum towards optimization of the global objective. This paper discusses the theory of Collective Intelligence (COIN) using the modified version of Probability Collectives (PC) to achieve the global goal. The paper successfully demonstrated this approach by optimizing the Rosenbrock function in which the coupled variables are seen as autonomous agents working collectively to achieve the function optimum. To demonstrate the PC approach on combinatorial optimization problems, two test cases of the Multi-Depot Multiple Traveling Salesmen Problem (MDMTSP) with 3 depots, 3 vehicles and 15 nodes are solved. In these cases, the vehicles are considered as autonomous agents collectively searching the minimum cost path. PC is successfully accompanied with insertion, elimination and swapping heuristic techniques. The optimum results to the Rosenbrock function and both the MDMTSP test cases are obtained at reasonable computational costs.  相似文献

This article presents our preliminary experimental data on the release kinetics and encapsulation efficiency of urea formaldehyde (UF) crosslinked matrices of starch (St), guar gum (GG), and starch + guar gum (St + GG) for the controlled release of solid (chlorpyrifos) and liquid (neem seed oil) pesticides. The data reveal variable release rates in relation to the polymer type and especially the pesticide type. The ability to manufacture a product using different metal combinations greatly increases flexibility in design and production. Joining of dissimilar metal combinations like Copper-to-Stainless Steel (Cu-to-SS) is, however, a challenging task owing to the large differences in physical and chemical properties. The application of electromagnetic (EM) impact technique is demonstrated for welding copper (Cu) to stainless steel (SS) sheets. The welding Cu-to-SS is accomplished by using Al drivers to accelerate Cu and SS work sheets. The tensile shear strength test and the metallographic studies are carried out for Cu-to-SS EM welds.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Volatile blends of five developing and five ripening stages of mango (Mangifera indica L. cv. Alphonso) were investigated along with those of flowers and leaves. Raw and ripe fruits of cv. Sabja were also used for comparison. RESULTS: A total of 55 volatiles belonging to various chemical classes such as aldehydes, alcohols, mono‐ and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, lactones and furanones were identified. In all Alphonso tissues monoterpenes quantitatively dominated, with 57–99% contribution; in particular, (Z)‐ocimene was found in the highest amount. Ripeness was characterized by the de novo appearance of lactones and furanones in the blend of monoterpenes. Sabja was distinguished by the abundance of monoterpene hydrocarbons in the raw fruit, and that of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons and their derivatives in the ripe stage. CONCLUSION: Various stages of the Alphonso fruit during transition from flower to ripe fruit are characterized by unique volatile signatures that are distinguished from each other by the qualitative and quantitative appearance of different volatile compounds. In this study, environmentally friendly polyester based polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) were synthesized using various combinations of isophthalic acid, adipid acid and maleic anhydride (IPA-AA-MA). A triangular empirical model was employed to optimize total number of experiments for optimal performance of polyurethane dispersions. In addition to PUDs, polyurethane/acrylate hybrid dispersions (PU/AC) were synthesized using graft copolymerization method to enhance the performance/properties of PUDs and for potential cost benefit.  相似文献

A 2D non‐isothermal reaction engineering model for a tubular reactor was developed for a complex reaction network of salicylic acid nitration. The influence of different operating and design parameters was studied to minimize the amount of secondary nitration products and limit the maximum temperature inside the reactor. Critical temperature effects were observed for larger reaction tubes, whereas close to isothermal conditions were perceived in smaller tubes. With single‐point dosing of both reactants, complete conversion can be achieved but formation of secondary nitration products cannot be avoided. For a given number of dosing points, a suitable combination of the operating parameters allowed to achieve complete conversion and better yield of the desired product.  相似文献

Ferrierite zeolite catalysts prepared using different procedures have been tested for their activity for vapor phase Beckmann rearrangement of cyclohexanone oxime to -caprolactam. We report here the results of a study seeking the influence of temperature, nitrogen feed rate, oxime concentration and solvents on the catalyst performance. At low concentration of oxime (2.5 wt%), using acetonitrile as solvent the maximum in the conversion of oxime and selectivity to -caprolactam has been obtained. The presence of weak, medium and strong acid sites as indicated by temperature-programmed desorption of NH3 corroborates well with the catalytic activities of various ferrierites shown here. Solvent polarity is found to significantly affect the conversion of cyclohexanone oxime.  相似文献
