Quality Management during the Fabrication of Chemical Equipment Made of Special Materials Optimizing a material's resistance to corrosion by the addition of alloying elements up to their solubility limits will make it increasingly difficult to use these frequently unstable alloys for the manufacture of chemical plant. The requirements these materials have to meet in the manufacture of chemical plant in terms of manufacturing technology and quality management, are becoming increasingly stringent. The current situation, for example in the manufacture of domed heads of pressure vessels, forgings, heat exchangers, and filter screens with a high specific surface area as a constituent part of stirred suction filters using advanced metallic materials, is not very satisfactory. Results of fabrication tests necessary for pressure vessel manufacture as well as in-service failures frequently demonstrate insufficient expertise of workshops dealing with high-alloy stainless steels and nickel-based materials. That the in-service failure of compoents clearly leads to considerable costs due to maintenance, delays in supply, and production downtimes. The economic consequences can be substantial. The aim of this paper is to highlight sensitive areas by demonstrating the impact of unintentional and unnoticed fabrication-related changes in welding parameters and to provide information on easily applicable methods of monitoring techniques.  相似文献

In this study, the effects of impregnation materials di‐ammonium phosphate, aluminium sulphate, potassium carbonate, calcium chloride, zinc chloride on combustion properties of 3 ply laminated veneer lumbers (LVL) produced from Walnut (Juglans regia L.) using phenol–formaldehyde (PF), poly (vinyl acetate) have been investigated. The pressure‐vacuum method was used for impregnation process. Combustion test was performed according to the procedure of ASTM‐E 69 standards. During the test, mass reduction, temperature and released gas (CO, NOX, SO2, O2) were determined every 30 s. As a result, zinc chloride was found to be the most successful fire‐retardant chemical in LVL at PF adhesive. Since it diminishes combustion, the fire retardant of LVL produced from walnut using PF adhesive can be advised. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The phase of a signal at a plane is reconstructed from the intensity profiles at two close parallel screens connected by a small abcd canonical transform; this applies to propagation along harmonic and repulsive fibers and in free media. We analyze the relationship between the local spatial frequency (the signal phase derivative) and the derivative of the squared modulus of the signal under a one-parameter canonical transform with respect to the parameter. We thus generalize to all linear systems the results that have been obtained separately for Fresnel and fractional Fourier transforms.  相似文献

Following our previous review on Pinus spp. seed fatty acid (FA) compositions, we recapitulate here the seed FA compositions of Larix (larch), Picea (spruce), and Pseudotsuga (Douglas fir) spp. Numerous seed FA compositions not described earlier are included. Approximately 40% of all Picea taxa and one-third of Larix taxa have been analyzed so far for their seed FA compositions. Qualitatively, the seed FA compositions in the three genera studied here are the same as in Pinus spp., including in particular the same Δ5-olefinic acids. However, they display a considerably lower variability in Larix and Picea spp. than in Pinus spp. An assessment of geographical variations in the seed FA composition of P. abies was made, and intraspecific dissimilarities in this species were found to be of considerably smaller amplitude than interspecific dissimilarities among other Picea species. This observation supports the use of seed FA compositions as chemotaxonomic markers, as they practically do not depend on edaphic or climatic conditions. This also shows that Picea spp. are coherently united as a group by their seed FA compositions. This also holds for Larix spp. Despite a close resemblance between Picea and Larix spp. seed FA compositions, principal component analysis indicates that the minor differences in seed FA compositions between the two genera are sufficient to allow a clear-cut individualization of the two genera. In both cases, the main FA is linoleic acid (slightly less than one-half of total FA), followed by pinolenic (5,9,12-18:3) and oleic acids. A maximum of 34% of total Δ5-olefinic acids is reached in L. sibirica seeds, which appears to be the highest value found in Pinaceae seed FA. This apparent limit is discussed in terms of regio- and stereospecific distribution of Δ5-olefinic acids in seed triacylglycerols. Regarding the single species of Pseudotsuga analyzed so far (P. menziesii), its seed FA composition is quite distinct from that of the other two genera, and in particular, it contains 1.2% of 14-methylhexadecanoic (anteiso-17:0) acid. In the three genera studied here, as well as in most Pinus spp., the C18Δ5-olefinic acids (5,9-18:2 and 5,9,12-18:3 acids) are present in considerably higher amounts than the C20Δ5-olefinic acids (5,11-20:2 and 5,11,14-20:3 acids).  相似文献

The notion of environment is receiving an increasing attention in the development of multiagent applications. This is witnessed by the emergence of a number of infrastructures providing agent designers with useful means to develop the agent environment, and thus to structure an effective multiagent application. In this paper we analyse the role and features of such infrastructures, and survey some relevant examples. We endorse a general viewpoint where the environment of a multiagent system is seen as a set of basic bricks we call environment abstractions, which (i) provide agents with services useful for achieving individual and social goals, and (ii) are supported by some underlying software infrastructure managing their creation and exploitation. Accordingly, we focus the survey on the opportunities that environment infrastructures provide to system designers when developing multiagent applications.  相似文献

Condensed state spaces for symmetrical Coloured Petri Nets   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
This paper deals with state spaces. A state space is a directed graph with a node for each reachable state and an arc for each possible state change. We describe how symmetries of the modelled system can be exploited to obtain much more succinct state space analysis. The symmetries induce equivalence classes of states and equivalence classes of state changes. It is then possible to construct a condensed state space where each node represents an equivalence class of states while each arc represents an equivalence class of state changes. Such a condensed state space is often much smaller than the full state space and it is also much faster to construct. Nevertheless, it is possible to use the condensed state space to verify the same kind of behavioural properties as the full state space. hence, we do not lose analytic power.We define state spaces and condensed state spaces for a language called Coloured Petri Nets (CP-nets). This language is in widespread use for the modelling and analysis of concurrent systems. However, our techniques are general and they can be used for many other kinds of labelled transition systems. The paper does not assume that the reader is familiar with CP-nets (or Petri nets in general)—although such knowledge will, of course, be a help. The first four sections of the paper introduce the basic concepts of CP-nets. The next three sections deal with state spaces, condensed state spaces and computer tools for state space analysis. An assessment of HFE-7500, a 'segregated' hydrofluoroether, was conducted to evaluate the potential for exposure to and subsequent effects on humans and wildlife in Japan. The segregated hydrofluoroethers belong to a class of fluorochemicals currently being proposed as replacements for traditional fluorochemicals (CFCs and PFCs) that are currently being used in several industries, in particular, the semiconductor industry. These traditional compounds have been implicated as ozone-depleting or potent "greenhouse gases". The segregated hydrofluoroethers have useful physical and chemical properties, but do not contribute to ozone depletion and have lower "global warming potential" (GWP) indices. Although the physical properties of these materials (low H2O solubility and high vapor pressure) suggest there would be a very low level of risk to aquatic systems, a thorough analysis had not been previously performed. Predicted environmental concentrations (PECs) of HFE-7500 in Japan were determined with the Higashino model, a Gausian puff and plume model that used an approximation of environmental releases to the atmosphere as input to the model. Allowable concentrations to protect aquatic life, wildlife, and humans from noncancer effects were determined as detailed in USEPA's final Water Quality Guidance for the Great Lakes Systems. Potential risk to ecological receptors and humans was determined by calculating hazard quotients and margins of safety. The results of the risk assessment indicate that HFE-7500 poses no significant risk to either aquatic or terrestrial wildlife species or humans living in the Japanese environment. The least margin of safety for any ecological receptor was 100,000, and a margin of safety greater than 100,000,000 for most receptors indicated that HFE-7500 poses no threat to human health. Because of a scarcity of toxicity and exposure data, the risk assessment was based on very conservative assumptions. Therefore, the actual margins of safety for both humans and wildlife could have been 100- to 1,000-fold greater if additional data were available such that less stringent uncertainty factors could be applied. These results suggest that the environmental impact of HFE-7500 should be inconsequential based on the marked improvement in its atmospheric properties relative to the traditional compounds currently in use. Given the short atmospheric lifetime and low global warming potential of this material, its replacement of CFCs and PFCs would result in a net improvement of environmental health and safety.  相似文献

This study evaluted the potential of contrast-enhanced digital-subtraction magnetic resonance angiography (CE-DS-MRA) for noninvasive angiographic delineation of the arterial supply of the penis in patients with erectile dysfunction. After induction of an erection with prostaglandin E, a three-dimensional fast imaging with steady-state precision (FISP) sequence with TE of 1.8–2 milliseconds, TR of 4.4–5 milliseconds, and flip angle of 40°–60° was used to obtain high-resolution angiograms of the pelvis and penis during the injection of gadolinium diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (Gd-DTPA) 0.3 mmol/kg body weight, within 30–50 seconds. DS maximum intensity projections (MIPs) and multiplanar reconstructions (MPRs) were compared with clinical work-up and directional Doppler ultrasound in 11 patients. In all 11 patients (100%), the arterial supply of the penis could be delineated from the aortic bifurcation via the iliac and internal pudendal arteries to the dorsal and deep penile arteries. Of the 22 internal pudendal arteries, 6 (27%) were occluded on CE-DS-MRA and 5 (23%) had stenoses, of which 4 (18%) were greater than 50%. In 7 patients (64%) good correlation between CE-DS-MRA and clinical findings and/or Doppler ultrasound was found; in 2 patients (18%), the correlation was moderate, and in 2 patients (18%) results were discrepant. In 6 patients (55%), MRA provided additional information to the clinical and Doppler ultrasound work-up. CE-DS-MRA can delineate small sessels such as the internal pudendal and penile arteries and thus has the potential to become a noninvasive angiography method in the work-up of erectile impotence.
