In this paper, a fully distributed power control algorithm (PCA) based on the minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) receiver is introduced. We study the convergence of the signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) and the total transmitted power and we compare, in terms of the capacity, the performance of a system in which the proposed PCA has been implemented and compared with a system with perfect power control. We show that capacity improvement of the order of 20% is obtained by using the proposed PCA  相似文献

The Nyquist robust stability margin kN is proposed as a new tool for analysing the robustness of uncertain systems. The analysis is done using Nyquist arguments involving eigenvalues instead of singular values, and yields exact necessary and sufficient conditions for robust stability. The concept of a critical line on the Nyquist plane is defined and used to calculate a critical perturbation radius which in turn is used to produce kN. The new approach gives alternatives to computing exact stability margins in some cases of highly directional uncertainty templates where other models are not applicable. © 1997 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) controls the vascular system. It may contribute to postoperative hypertension observed upon emergence from anesthesia. This structure contains adrenergic cardiovascular neurons. Therefore, one question was addressed: does a change in RVLM catechol activity occur upon emergence from anesthesia? Halothane-anesthetized, paralyzed rats had their ventilatory, circulatory, and acid-base stability controlled. All pressure points and incisions were infiltrated with local anesthetic. With in vivo electrochemistry, a catechol signal was recorded in the RVLM in the following circumstances: (1) under stable halothane anesthesia for 120 minutes (halothane group), (2) during 120 minutes after halothane discontinuation (saline-emergence group), (3) during 60 minutes after halothane discontinuation followed by 60 minutes after halothane readministration (readministration group), (4) emergence in rats treated with atenolol and nitroprusside to hold blood pressure as close as possible to baseline, (5) emergence after morphine 1 mg.kg(-1) i.v., (6) emergence after decerebration, and (7) emergence upon recording in the mid-brain dopaminergic A10 area. Stable halothane anesthesia (n = 6) led to no change in mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), and catechol signal (CAOC). During emergence from anesthesia (n = 6), MAP, HR, and catechol signal increased and did not return to baseline. By contrast, a return of MAP, HR, and catechol signal to baseline was observed upon readministration of halothane (n = 6). Whereas blood pressure and heart rate were maintained as closely as possible to baseline, a large catechol activation (n = 5) was observed upon emergence from anesthesia. A catechol activation from a lowered baseline was observed upon emergence following morphine administration (n = 5). A minor circulatory activation without RVLM catechol activation was observed upon emergence following decerebration (n = 5). Recordings in the A10 area revealed no increase in the catechol signal following emergence (n = 5). Adrenergic RVLM neurons appear to be responsive upon emergence from anesthesia, possibly being activated by suprapontine afferents impinging on the RVLM.  相似文献

The CD48 molecule belongs to a subfamily of the Ig superfamily that also includes the CD2, CD58, 2B4, Signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM), and Ly-9 molecules. Receptor-ligand interactions are known to occur between several members of this family, and these interactions can strengthen cell to cell adhesion. In mice, the CD48 molecule can bind to CD2. To search for additional ligands of murine CD48, we have generated a chimeric fusion protein consisting of the extracellular domain of murine CD48 and the C region of human IgG1. The results of immunofluorescence and immunoprecipitation experiments in which this reagent was used identify the 2B4 molecule as a novel counter-receptor of CD48.  相似文献

A number of viral vectors are currently being evaluated as potential gene therapy vectors for gene delivery to the brain. As well as evaluating their ability to express a transgene for extended periods of time it is also essential to examine any cytotoxic immune response to such vectors as this may not only limit transgene expression but also cause irreparable harm. This work describes the effect of inoculating a gamma34.5 mutant of herpes simplex type 1 (1716lacZ) into the brain of different strains of rats and mice. Animals were monitored for weight loss and signs of illness, and their brains were evaluated for inflammation, beta-galactosidase expression and recoverable infectious virus. We report that there is (i) a powerful immune response consisting of an early non-specific phase and a later presumably T-cell-mediated phase; (ii) significant weight loss in some animals strains accompanied by severe signs of clinical illness and (iii) transient reporter gene expression in all animal strains examined. To be useful for gene therapy we suggest this virus requires further modification, it should be tested in several animal strains and the dose of virus used may be critical in order to limit damage.  相似文献

One fundamental issue in high-speed wireless local area networks (LANs) is to develop efficient medium access control (MAC) protocols. In this paper, we focus on the performance improvement in both MAC layer and transport layer by using a novel medium access control protocol for high-speed wireless LANs deploying carrier sense multiple access/collision avoidance (CSMA/CA). We first present a recently proposed distributed contention-based MAC protocol utilizing a Fast Collision Resolution (FCR) algorithm and show that the proposed FCR algorithm provides high throughput and low latency while improving the fairness performance. The performance of the FCR algorithm is compared with that of the IEEE 802.11 MAC algorithm via extensive simulation studies on both MAC layer and transport layer. The results show that the FCR algorithm achieves a significantly higher efficiency than the IEEE 802.11 MAC and can significantly improve transport layer performance.  相似文献
