Localization and synchronization are fundamental services for many applications in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), since it is often required to know the sensor nodes’ position and global time to relate a given event detection to a specific location and time. However, the localization and synchronization tasks are often performed after the sensor nodes’ deployment on the sensor field. Since manual configuration of sensor nodes is usually an impractical activity, it is necessary to rely on specific algorithms to solve both localization and clock synchronization problems of sensor nodes. With this in mind, in this work we propose a joint solution for the problem of 3D localization and time synchronization in WSNs using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). A UAV equipped with GPS flies over the sensor field broadcasting its geographical position. Therefore, sensor nodes are able to estimate their geographical position and global time without the need of equipping them with a GPS device. Through simulation experiments, we show that our proposed joint solution reduces time synchronization and localization errors as well as energy consumption when compared to solutions found in the literature.  相似文献

The aim of this article is to compare the electrochemical corrosion resistance of two as-cast Al–6 wt.% Cu–1 wt.% Si and Al–8 wt.% Cu–3 wt.% Si alloys considering both the solutes macrosegregation profiles and the scale of the microstructure dendritic arrays. A water-cooled unidirectional solidification system was used to obtain the as-cast samples. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic anodic polarization techniques were used to analyze the corrosion resistance in a 0.5 M NaCl solution at 25 °C. It was found that the Al–8Cu–3Si alloy has better electrochemical corrosion resistance than the Al–6Cu–1Si alloy for any position along the casting length. At the castings regions where the Cu inverse profile prevailed (up to about 10 mm from the castings surface) the corrosion current density decreased up to 2.5 times with the decrease in the secondary dendrite arm spacing.  相似文献

In a recent publication the pseudoanechoic mixing model for closely spaced microphones was proposed and a blind audio sources separation algorithm based on this model was developed. This method uses frequency-domain independent component analysis to identify the mixing parameters. These parameters are used to synthesize the separation matrices, and then a time-frequency Wiener postfilter to improve the separation is applied. In this contribution, key aspects of the separation algorithm are optimized with two novel methods. A deeper analysis of the working principles of the Wiener postfilter is presented, which gives an insight in its reverberation reduction capabilities. Also a variation of this postfilter to improve the performance using the information of previous frames is introduced. The basic method uses a fixed central frequency bin for the estimation of the mixture parameters. In this contribution an automatic selection of the central bin, based in the information of the separability of the sources, is introduced. The improvements obtained through these methods are evaluated in an automatic speech recognition task and with the PESQ objective quality measure. The results show an increased robustness and stability of the proposed method, enhancing the separation quality and improving the speech recognition rate of an automatic speech recognition system.  相似文献

Aiming for the investigation of insulating properties of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) layers, as well as the combination of this oxide with tin dioxide (SnO2) for application in transparent field effect transistors, Al thin films are deposited by resistive evaporation on top of SnO2 thin films deposited by sol–gel dip-coating process. The oxidation of Al films to Al2O3 are carried out by thermal annealing at 500 °C in room conditions or oxygen atmosphere. X-ray diffraction data indicate that tetragonal Al2O3 is indeed obtained. A simple device and electric circuit is proposed to measure the insulating properties of aluminum oxide and the transport properties of SnO2 as well. Results indicate a fair insulation when four layers or Al2O3 are grown on the tin dioxide film, concomitant with thermal annealing between each layer. The current magnitude through the insulating layer is only 0.2% of the current through the semiconductor film, even though the conductivity of the SnO2 alone is not very high (the average resistivity is 2 Ω cm), because no doping is used. The presented results are a good indication that this combination may be useful for transparent devices.  相似文献

The uplink capacity and the interference statistics (mean and variance) of the sectors of the cigar-shaped W-CDMA microcell are studied. A model with eighteen sectors is used to analyze the uplink. The microcells are assumed to exist in a long tunnel with at least nine base stations. The hybrid model of propagation is used in the calculations. The capacity and the interference statistics of the sectors are studied in terms of the most important parameters: sector radius, specific attenuation factor, antenna sidelobe levels, bend losses and the power control standard deviation error.  相似文献

Vegetable soybeans are marketed fresh or frozen, either shelled or in pods. The objective of this research was to characterise the change in quality attributes of vegetable soybean with boiling time (0–20 min), and presence/absence of pods, using an electrical-resistance stove or a steam-jacketed kettle. Trypsin inhibitor activity (TIA), texture, colour, soluble sugars, nitrogen, calcium and iron content were analysed. Blanching using a steam-jacketed kettle for approximately 2 min rendered 80% inactivation of TIA, and resulted in high colour, texture and sucrose. There were no differences between blanching in pods or shelled for TIA, colour and texture; however, blanching in pods prevented losses of sucrose. Blanching did not affect iron, mono- and oligosaccharide levels, but increased nitrogen and calcium content. Additionally, we observed that all traits decreased linearly with cooking time when using an electrical-resistance stove, except for calcium and nitrogen that increased, and oligosaccharides that remained constant.  相似文献

This paper presents two techniques for DC model parameter extraction for a Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) based MEtal Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MESFET) device. The proposed methods uses Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Quantum Particle Swarm Optimization (QPSO) methods for optimizing the difference between measured data and simulated data. Simulated data are obtained by using four different popular DC models. These techniques avoid complex computational steps involved in traditional parameter extraction techniques. The performance comparison in terms of quality of solution and execution time of classical PSO and QPSO to extract the model parameters are presented. The validity of this approach is verified by comparing the simulated and measured results of a fabricated GaAs MESFET device with gate length of 0.7 μm and gate width of 600 μm (4 × 150). Simulation results indicate that both the technique based on PSO and QPSO accurately extracts the model parameters of MESFET.  相似文献

Nowadays, the consolidation of application servers is the most common use for current virtualization solutions. Each application server takes the form of a virtual machine (VM) that can be hosted into one physical machine. In a default Xen implementation, the scheduler is configured to handle equally all of the VMs that run on a single machine. As a consequence, the scheduler shares equally all of the available physical CPU resources among the running VMs. However, when the applications that run in the VM dynamically change their resource requirements, a different solution is needed. Furthermore, if the resource usage is associated with service-level agreements, a predefined equal share of the processor power is insufficient for the VMs. Within the Xen’s primitives, even though it is possible to tune the scheduler parameters, there is no tool to achieve the dynamic change of the share of the processor power assigned to each VM. A combination of a number of primitives, however, appears to be suited as a base for achieving this. In this paper, we present an approach to efficiently manage the quality of service (QoS) of virtualized resources in multicore machines. We evaluate different alternatives within Xen for building an enhanced management of virtual CPU resources. We compare these alternatives in terms of performance, flexibility, and ease of use. We devise an architecture to build a high-level service that combines interdomain communication mechanisms with monitoring and control primitives for local resource management. We achieve this by our solution, a local resource manager (LRM), which adjusts the resources needed by each VM according to an agreed QoS. The LRM has been implemented as a prototype and deployed on Xen-virtualized machines. By means of experiments, we show that the implemented management component can meet the service-level objectives even under dynamic conditions by adapting the resources assigned to the virtualized machines according to demand. With the LRM, we therefore achieve both fine-grain resource allocation and efficient assignment.  相似文献

A comparative experimental study of the main features of the eutectic Sn-Pb alloy and Sn-Zn alloys was carried out with a view to application of the latter alloys as alternative solder materials. The resulting microstructures, mechanical properties (ultimate tensile strength and elongation), and wettability behavior (spreading area and contact angle) of a hypoeutectic Sn-Zn (Sn-4wt.%Zn), a hypereutectic Sn-Zn (Sn-12wt.%Zn), and the eutectic Sn-9wt.%Zn alloy were examined and compared with the corresponding results of the conventional Sn-40wt.%Pb solder alloy. It was found that, of the Sn-Zn alloys examined, the eutectic Sn-9wt.%Zn alloy offers a compromise between lower wettability and higher mechanical strength.  相似文献

Lanthanum strontium manganite (LSM) powders of composition La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 are good candidates for cathode application in solid oxide fuel cells. This paper reports the synthesis of LSM powders from nitrate precursors by the combustion method, using two different propellants (urea and glycine) and varying the propellant/nitrate ratio. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) revealed two or three decomposition stages of the as-synthesized samples, with complete burn out of organics at about 850–900 °C. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns showed formation of only LSM phase for the sample synthesized with excess of urea, whereas SrCO3 and MnCO3 phases were also found for the samples prepared from glycine. The powder is better crystallized when a homogeneous gel is formed before burning. The crystallite size calculated using the Scherrer equation is in the range of 15–20 nm. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed the presence of agglomerates, formed by fine particles of different shapes.  相似文献
