This work describes a color Vision-based System intended to perform stable autonomous driving on unmarked roads. Accordingly, this implies the development of an accurate road surface detection system that ensures vehicle stability. Although this topic has already been documented in the technical literature by different research groups, the vast majority of the already existing Intelligent Transportation Systems are devoted to assisted driving of vehicles on marked extra urban roads and highways. The complete system was tested on the BABIECA prototype vehicle, which was autonomously driven for hundred of kilometers accomplishing different navigation missions on a private circuit that emulates an urban quarter. During the tests, the navigation system demonstrated its robustness with regard to shadows, road texture, and weather and changing illumination conditions.  相似文献

Wireless mesh networks are an attractive technology for providing broadband connectivity to mobile clients who are just on the edge of wired networks, and also for building self-organized networks in places where wired infrastructures are not available or not deemed to be worth deploying. This paper investigates the joint link scheduling and routing issues involved in the delivery of a given backlog from any node of a wireless mesh network towards a specific node (which acts as a gateway), within a given deadline. Scheduling and routing are assumed to be aware of the physical interference among nodes, which is modeled in the paper by means of a signal-to-interference ratio. Firstly, we present a theoretical model which allows us to formulate the task of deriving joint routing and scheduling as an integer linear programming problem. Secondly, since the problem cannot be dealt with using exact methods, we propose and use a technique based on genetic algorithms. To the best of our knowledge, these algorithms have never been used before for working out these kinds of optimization problems in a wireless mesh environment. We show that our technique is suitable for this purpose as it provides a good trade-off between fast computation and the overall goodness of the solution found. Our experience has in fact shown that genetic algorithms would seem to be quite promising for solving more complex models than the one dealt with in this paper, such as those including multiple flows and multi-radio multi-channels.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The Jubilee Church in the south-eastern outskirts of Rome is one of the first buildings constructed with super white reinforced concrete with self-cleaning photocatalytic cement. However, 16 years after the opening of the building, the self-cleaning and colour-preserving properties arising from the titania particles (TiO2) within the concrete mix are not meeting the design requirements and the concrete is showing premature evidence of decay. While the form of the decay is affecting the appearance of the building and not its structural soundness, the ageing pattern of the building's components is resulting in a high maintenance cost, one not easily affordable within the ordinary budget supported by a small parish. This study comprises the first comprehensive step in understanding the causes of the accelerated ageing pattern of the concrete, highlighting methods to improve the long-term durability of the concrete and therefore reduce the cost of its maintenance. Moreover, this research offered the opportunity to test the durability and the effectiveness of the TiO2 in the real conditions on an actual building featuring non-standard geometries. The findings highlight how the ageing pattern directly connects with the geometry of the building and inadequate consideration of the local weathering at the design stage.  相似文献

The mode-matching analysis of rectangular waveguide networks requires a complex segmentation of the structure into simple elements. The way these elements are connected has a strong influence on the computing performance of the code. Moreover, for complex structures the size of the coefficient matrix of the main system can easily reach unaffordable dimensions, so that the use of an efficient solving strategy becomes indispensable. A new approach to the optimum automatic choice of the interconnections is presented, leading to a highly stable and outperforming method of analysis. A Butler 4 × 4 matrix, with six branch guide couplers and four phase shifters, containing 336 uniform waveguide sections and bifurcations, has been studied, and the presented strategy has allowed a performance increase up to two orders of magnitude. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Some say that all diseases begin in the gut. Interestingly, this concept is actually quite old, since it is attributed to the Ancient Greek physician Hippocrates, who proposed the hypothesis nearly 2500 years ago. The continuous breakthroughs in modern medicine have transformed our classic understanding of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and human health. Although the gut microbiota (GMB) has proven to be a core component of human health under standard metabolic conditions, there is now also a strong link connecting the composition and function of the GMB to the development of numerous diseases, especially the ones of musculoskeletal nature. The symbiotic microbes that reside in the gastrointestinal tract are very sensitive to biochemical stimuli and may respond in many different ways depending on the nature of these biological signals. Certain variables such as nutrition and physical modulation can either enhance or disrupt the equilibrium between the various species of gut microbes. In fact, fat-rich diets can cause dysbiosis, which decreases the number of protective bacteria and compromises the integrity of the epithelial barrier in the GIT. Overgrowth of pathogenic microbes then release higher quantities of toxic metabolites into the circulatory system, especially the pro-inflammatory cytokines detected in osteoarthritis (OA), thereby promoting inflammation and the initiation of many disease processes throughout the body. Although many studies link OA with GMB perturbations, further research is still needed.  相似文献

The effects of high-intensity pulsed electric fields (HIPEF) on oxidative enzymes and color of fresh carrot juice were studied. A response surface methodology (RSM) was used to evaluate the effect of pulse polarity (mono or bipolar mode), pulse width (from 1 to 7 μs), and pulse frequency (from 50 to 250 Hz) on color and peroxidase (POD) inactivation of carrot juice treated by HIPEF. The total treatment time and the electric field strength were set at 1,000 μs and 35 kV/cm, respectively, at a temperature below 35°C. The physicochemical characteristics of carrot juice were measured. There was a linear relationship between electrical conductivity and temperature of the carrot juice. The results showed that HIPEF-treated carrot juice at 35 kV/cm for 1,000 μs applying 6 μs pulse width at 200 Hz in bipolar mode led to 73.0% inactivation of POD. The color coordinates did not change significantly. Therefore, HIPEF was effective in POD inactivation and carrot juice color preservation.  相似文献

The criterion used to verify the cathodic protection condition of a structure is based on structure-to-electrolyte potential measurement, which can include an ohmic drop contribution. Among the available techniques, the use of potential probes with internal reference electrode and of corrosion coupons with a so-called soil-access tube represents the most appropriate way to measure the IR-free potential, eliminating the ohmic drop contribution. An alternative is represented by on-off technique if equalising, galvanic or stray currents are not present. Laboratory tests have been carried out in soil-simulating solution on cathodically protected carbon steel in order to evaluate the effectiveness of off-potential for the assessment of cathodic protection. Instant-off potential is not reliable in overprotection condition; moreover, the accuracy of the measurement is strongly influenced by the presence of external current as galvanic or equalising currents. The effect of low-pass filter in the data acquisition system on the potential reading is discussed.  相似文献

The present research focused on the biogenic amines (BAs) formation in skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) throughout the whole canning process. In agreement with its wide employment on this species, on‐board brine immersion freezing (BIF) was tested as post‐mortem processing. The study included fish samples corresponding to different stages of the canning process such as frozen, thawed, cooked and canned; after cooking, two kinds of tuna muscles were considered, that is, whole fillets (main product) and grated muscle (off‐product arising from small pieces). For the BAs (tryptamine, putrescine, cadaverine, histamine, spermidine and spermine) assessment, an HPLC‐DAD method was developed and validated in skipjack tuna samples, in agreement with different parameters such as suitability, linearity, limits of detection and quantification, precision, accuracy and robustness. Tuna submitted on‐board to BIF procedure provided low levels of spermine and spermidine (up to 27.6 mg kg?1), while contents on the remaining BAs maintained below the limit of detection. Throughout the different stages of the canning process, skipjack tuna showed a low formation of most BAs; interestingly, histamine content was found below 10.6 mg kg?1 level. The highest values were obtained for spermidine, these related to cooked grated tuna (from 22.6 to 66.7 mg kg?1) and canned grated tuna (from 70.6 to 104.4 mg kg?1). Values for pH assessment in all kinds of tuna samples corroborated the results obtained for BAs determination. BIF procedure proved to be an amenable post‐mortem processing to guarantee the quality of canned skipjack tuna.  相似文献
