The hydrogen adsorption isotherms at equilibrium on four adsorbents (MOF-5 and three modified MOF-5s named, CH3-MOF-5, Br-MOF-5 and Cl-MOF-5) were studied using a monolayer model with four adsorption sites energies. The analytical expression of this model was developed using the grand canonical ensemble in statistical physics by taking some working hypotheses involving some physicochemical parameters which can describe the adsorption process. These parameters are: four numbers of hydrogen adsorbed molecules per site (n1, n2, n3 and n4), four receptor site densities (NM1, NM2, NM3 and NM4), four saturation adsorbed quantities (Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4) and four adsorption energies (??1, ??2, ??3 and ??4). The evolutions of these parameters in relation with temperature were discussed to understand and interpret the adsorption process at different temperatures. Fitting results revealed that the adsorption of hydrogen on MOF-5 is an exothermic physisorption process. The adsorption surface is inhomogeneous with many site energies. The fitting of the adsorption site is achieved by an aggregate of hydrogen molecules. The adopted model expression is used to derive the thermodynamic potential functions which govern the sorption mechanism such as entropy Sa, free enthalpy of Gibbs G and internal energy Eint.  相似文献

We have evaluated the influence of meat processing on the results obtained with a species identification test by DNA oligonucleotide hybridisation. Freezing and thawing of meat did not cause a substantial reduction in the hybridisation signal. Heating of meat at 100°C or 120°C, however, led to signal reduction caused by DNA degradation, but identification was still possible. The signal is highly influenced by the kind of tissues processed. Four extensively processed products with 50 g kg−1 species admixtures were tested. Admixtures could be detected in three products but no hybridisation signal was observed with corned beef. We conclude that the quantification of admixtures by hybridisation is not better than with most alternative methods of species identification, as the strength of the signal depends on factors such as tissue origin and sample processing. © 1999 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) modulates prostaglandin (PG) synthesis via LPA receptor 3 (LPAR3) in the murine endometrium. The lack of functional LPAR3 in mice may lead to embryo mortality. In the present study, we examined the role of LPA in the bovine uterus. We confirmed that LPA is locally produced and released from the bovine endometrium. Moreover, there are enzymes involved in LPA synthesis (phospholipase (PL) D(2) and PLA2G1B) in the bovine endometrium during estrous cycle and early pregnancy. Expression of the receptor for LPA (LPAR1) was positively correlated with the expression of PGE(2) synthase (PGES) and negatively correlated with the expression of PGF(2alpha) synthase (aldose reductase with 20 alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase activity - PGFS) during early pregnancy. In vivo LPA induced P4 and PGE(2) secretion was inhibited by LPAR1 antagonist (Ki16425). The overall results indicate that LPA is locally produced and released from the bovine endometrium. Moreover, LPAR1 gene expression in the endometrium during the estrous cycle and early pregnancy indicates that LPA may play autocrine and/or paracrine roles in the bovine uterus. LPAR1 gene expression is positively correlated with the expression of the enzyme responsible for luteotropic PGE(2) production (PGES) in endometrium. In cow, LPA stimulates P4 and PGE(2) secretion. Thus, LPA in the bovine reproductive tract may indirectly (via endometrium) or directly support corpus luteum action via the increase of P4 synthesis and the increase of PGE(2)/PGF(2)(alpha) ratio. It suggests that LPA may serve as an important factor in the maintenance of early pregnancy in cow.  相似文献

We describe a novel tracking system for reconstructing three-dimensional tracks of individual mosquitoes in wild swarms and present the results of validating the system by filming swarms and mating events of the malaria mosquito Anopheles gambiae in Mali. The tracking system is designed to address noisy, low frame-rate (25 frames per second) video streams from a stereo camera system. Because flying A. gambiae move at 1–4 m s−1, they appear as faded streaks in the images or sometimes do not appear at all. We provide an adaptive algorithm to search for missing streaks and a likelihood function that uses streak endpoints to extract velocity information. A modified multi-hypothesis tracker probabilistically addresses occlusions and a particle filter estimates the trajectories. The output of the tracking algorithm is a set of track segments with an average length of 0.6–1 s. The segments are verified and combined under human supervision to create individual tracks up to the duration of the video (90 s). We evaluate tracking performance using an established metric for multi-target tracking and validate the accuracy using independent stereo measurements of a single swarm. Three-dimensional reconstructions of A. gambiae swarming and mating events are presented.  相似文献

NSTX 2010 experiments were conducted using a molybdenum Liquid Lithium Divertor (LLD) surface installed on the outer part of the lower divertor. This tested the effectiveness of maintaining the deuterium retention properties of a static liquid lithium surface when refreshed by lithium evaporation as an approximation to a flowing liquid lithium surface. The LLD molybdenum front face has a 45% porosity to provide sufficient wetting to spread 37 g of lithium, and to retain it in the presence of magnetic forces. Lithium Evaporators were used to deposit lithium on the LLD surface. At the beginning of discharges, the LLD lithium surface ranged from solid to liquefied depending on the amount of applied and plasma heating. Noteworthy improvements in plasma performance were obtained similar to those obtained previously with lithiated graphite, e.g., ELM-free, quiescent edge, H-modes. During these experiments with the plasma outer strike point on the LLD, the rate of deuterium retention in the LLD, as indicated by the fueling needed to achieve and maintain stable plasma conditions, was the about the same as that for solid lithium coatings on the graphite prior to the installation of the LLD, i.e., about two times that of no-lithium conditions. The role of lithium impurities in this result is discussed. Following the 2010 experimental campaign, inspection of the LLD found mechanical damage to the plate supports, and other hardware resulting from forces following plasma current disruptions. The LLD was removed, upgraded, and reinstalled. A row of molybdenum tiles was installed inboard of the LLD for 2011 experiments with both inner and outer strike points on lithiated molybdenum to allow investigation of lithium plasma facing issues encountered in the first testing of the LLD.  相似文献

Cemented paste backfill (CPB), which is a mix of tailings, water and cement, is subjected to the combined actions of temperature and sulphate during its service life. There is a need to acquire solid knowledge on the coupled effects of temperature and sulphate on the strength of CPBs for a safe, durable and cost-effective design of CPB structures. Hence, the main objective of this paper is to use an experimental approach to study the combined effect of temperature and sulphate on the strength development and microstructure (mineralogical composition of the hardened cement paste) of CPBs. About 200 CPB specimens with various initial sulphate contents (0, 5000, 15,000, and 25,000 ppm) and cured at different temperatures (0 °C, 25 °C, 20 °C, 35 °C, and 50 °C) are tested at different curing times (28, 90, and 150 days). The results show that the coupled effect of temperature and sulphate has a significant impact on the strength and mineralogical composition of the CPB. Depending on the curing time, temperature and initial sulphate content, the sulphate can have a positive or negative impact, i.e., leads to an increase or decrease of CPB strength. The obtained results show a strong indication that the absorption of sulphate by calcium–silicate–hydrate (C–S–H) could lead to the formation of lower quality C–S–H, thereby decreasing the strength of the CPB. This study has demonstrated that the coupled effect of sulphate and temperature on CPBs is an important factor for consideration in the designing of cost-effective, safe and durable CPB structures.  相似文献

The color of polymer solar cells using an opaque electrode is given by the reflected light, which depends on the composition and thickness of each layer of the device. Metal‐oxide‐based optical spacers are intensively studied in polymer solar cells aiming to optimize the light absorption. However, the low conductivity of materials such as ZnO and TiO2 limits the thickness of such optical spacers to tenths of nanometers. A novel synthesis route of cluster‐free Al‐doped ZnO (AZO) nanocrystals (NCs) is presented for solution processing of highly conductive layers without the need of temperature annealing, including thick optical spacers on top of polymer blends. The processing of 80 nm thick optical spacers based on AZO nanocrystal solutions on top of 200 nm thick polymer blend layer is demonstrated leading to improved photocurrent density of 17% compared to solar cells using standard active layers of 90 nm in combination with thin ZnO‐based optical spacers. These AZO NCs also open new opportunities for the processing of high‐efficiency color tuned solar cells. For the first time, it is shown that applying solution‐processed thick optical spacer with polymer blends of different thicknesses can process solar cells of similar efficiency over 7% but of different colors.  相似文献

To evaluate their potential uses in ceramic compositions, two different types of abundant clays from Kindia (Guinea Conakry), denoted ABD and ARD, were characterized with the chemical and mineralogical compositions, the specific surface area, the plasticity index, the particle size distribution, and the thermal behavior. Kaolinite and muscovite are the main clay minerals that are identified. Besides, non-plastic minerals are large amount of quartz with a small particles size, goethite, hematite, anatase, and a small quantity of gibbsite. The two clays have a high plasticity index that is consistent with the small particle size and the broad size distribution. During heating, the fluxing behavior of the two clays induces a significant densification that is favored by the muscovite mineral combined with the reactive fine quartz. Besides, the firing shrinkage is limited to values of 4.5% and 3.5% for ABD and ARD respectively. In the objective of manufacturing ceramics, the two clays present the required properties. They present a sufficient plastic index in the green state, and after firing they lead to dense ceramics with an interesting bright color. The limited firing shrinkage is favorable to maintain the dimensional stability of vitrified ceramics as porcelain.  相似文献
