This research aims to study the thermal and hydraulic attributes as well as energy efficiency of a new ecofriendly nanofluid including functionalized graphene nanoplatelets in a mini heat sink with three different pin fins. The circular, triangular and drop-shaped pin fins are investigated and compared with each other. The effects of nanoparticle fraction and flow velocity on the thermal resistance, temperature uniformity, convective heat transfer coefficient, maximum surface temperature, average surface temperature, pressure loss and pumping power are assessed. Increasing the concentration or velocity reduces the temperature on the heated wall, and also improves the temperature distribution uniformity. At both constant velocity and invariant pumping power, the heat sink fitted with the circular pin fins leads to the best performance while that equipped with the triangular pin fins results in the worst efficiency. In addition, the Figure of Merit (FoM) is greater than 1 for all conditions, which proves that the nanoparticle suspension possesses a greater merit to be employed as the coolant in the heat sinks compared to the base fluid.  相似文献

In E-commerce, numbers of transactions are increasing day by day in B2B and B2C trade. Online negotiation is possible because of automated negotiation. Autonomous entities such as agents could help in these situations. Providing an offer which has maximum utilities for both trading parties into possible shortest time is the main aim of this work. Proposed model applies issue trade-offs strategy in which multiple issues are traded-offs against one another to maximize participant satisfaction. To make trade-offs the model applies a fuzzy system approach. The automated negotiation model in this article has a process without offer generating and exchanging between buyer and supplier agents to explore time-consuming negotiation process in earlier researches. Mediator component searches an optimal offer that satisfies buyer and supplier requirements. The system will utilize fuzzy inference systems to automate negotiation process and considers two effective factors in the negotiation process: requirements and preferences. Requirements are qualitative or quantitative values which the participants assign to issues for negotiation. Preferences of the participants are priorities assigned to the issues. These values express an importance measure of the issues from a participant perspective. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used to get preferences of the issues. Proposed model applies different Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) schemes for qualitative and quantitative negotiation issues to enhance the satisfaction level of buyers and suppliers. Experimental results show that how the model fulfills the main aim of our work.  相似文献

Cutaneous melanoma (CM) is the most aggressive form of skin cancer, and its worldwide incidence is rapidly increasing. Early stages can be successfully treated by surgery, but once metastasis has occurred, the prognosis is poor. However, some 5–10% of thick (≥2 mm) melanomas do not follow this scenario and run an unpredictable course. Little is known about the factors that contribute to metastasis in some patient with thick melanomas and the lack thereof in thick melanoma patients who never develop metastatic disease. We were therefore interested to study differential gene expression and pathway analysis and compare non-metastatic and metastatic thick melanomas. We found that the TNF-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) pathway was upregulated in thick non-metastasizing melanomas. MAP3K14 (NIK1), BIRC2 (cIAP1), RIPK1, CASP7, CASP8, and TNF play an important role in inhibiting proliferation and invasion of tumor cells via the activation of the non-canonical NF-κB signaling pathway. In particular, this pathway sensitizes melanoma cells to TNF-alpha and activates the apoptosis module of the TWEAK pathway in thick non-metastasizing melanomas. Hence, our study suggests a potential role of the TWEAK pathway in inhibiting thick melanoma from metastasis. Exploitation of these genes and the pathway they control may open future therapeutic avenues.  相似文献

Loss-of-function events in tumor suppressor genes (TSGs) contribute to the development and progression of cutaneous malignant melanoma (CMM). Epigenetic alterations are the major mechanisms of TSG inactivation, in particular, silencing by promoter CpG-island hypermethylation. TSGs are valuable tools in diagnosis and prognosis and, possibly, in future targeted therapy. The aim of this narrative review is to outline bona fide TSGs affected by promoter CpG-island hypermethylation and their functional role in the progression of CMM. We conducted a systematic literature review to identify studies providing evidence of bona fide TSGs by cell line or animal experiments. We performed a broad first search and a gene-specific second search, supplemented by reference checking. We included studies describing bona fide TSGs in CMM with promoter CpG-island hypermethylation in which inactivating mechanisms were reported. We extracted data about protein role, pathway, experiments conducted to meet the bona fide criteria and hallmarks of cancer acquired by TSG inactivation. A total of 24 studies were included, describing 24 bona fide TSGs silenced by promoter CpG-island hypermethylation in CMM. Their effect on cell proliferation, apoptosis, growth, senescence, angiogenesis, migration, invasion or metastasis is also described. These data give further insight into the role of TSGs in the progression of CMM.  相似文献

Among different electric energy storage technologies electrochemical capacitors are used for energy storage applications when high power delivery or uptake is needed. Their energy and power densities, durability and efficiency are influenced by electrode and electrolyte materials however due to a high cost/performance ratio; their widespread use in energy storage systems has not been attained yet.Thanks to their properties such as high surface area, controllable pore size, low electrical resistance, good polarizability and inertness; activated carbons derived from polymeric precursors are the most used electrode materials in electrochemical capacitors at present. Other electrode materials such as shaped nano-carbons or metal oxides are also investigated as electrode materials in electrochemical capacitors, but only as useful research tools.Most commercially used electrochemical capacitors employ organic electrolytes when offering concomitant high energy and high power densities. The use of aqueous based electrolytes in electrochemical capacitor applications is mainly limited to research purposes as a result of their narrow operating voltage. Recent studies on room temperature ionic liquids to be employed as electrolyte for electrochemical capacitor applications are focused on fine tuning their physical and transport properties in order to bring the energy density of the device closer to that of batteries without compromising the power densities.In this paper a performance analysis, recent progress and the direction of future developments of various types of materials used in the fabrication of electrodes for electrochemical capacitors are presented. The influence of different types of electrolytes on the performance of electrochemical capacitors such as their output voltage and energy/power densities is also discussed.  相似文献

This article presents a hybrid finite-element/finite-difference approach. The approach solves the 3-D unsteady energy equation in nonisothermal fluid flow over a staggered tube bank with five tubes in the flow direction. The investigation used Reynolds numbers of 100 and 300, Prandtl number of 0.7, and pitch-to-diameter ratio of 1.5. An equilateral triangle (ET) tube pattern is considered for the staggered tube bank. The proposed hybrid method employs a 2-D Taylor-Galerkin finite-element method, and the energy equation perpendicular to the tube axis is discretized. On the other hand, the finite-difference technique discretizes the derivatives toward the tube axis. Weighting the 3-D, transient, convection-diffusion equation for a cube verifies the numerical results. The L2 norm of the error between numerical and exact solutions is also presented for three different hybrid meshes. A grid independence study for the energy equation preceded the final mesh. The outcome is found to be in acceptable concurrence with those from the previous studies. After the temperature field is attained, the local Nusselt number is computed for the tubes in the bundle at different times. The isotherms are also obtained at different times until a steady-state solution is reached. The numerical results converge to the exact results through refining the mesh. The implemented hybrid scheme requires less computation time compared with the conventional 3-D finite-element method, requiring less program coding.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Homogeneity in appearance is one of the quality aspects asked for in the supply chain. Decreasing the biological variation in batches of harvested apples (cultivars Braeburn, Fuji and Gala) becomes increasingly important. Skin colour is one of the aspects that determine both optimal harvest and stage of development. Skin colour is affected by location in the canopy. The rules of development of biological variation are now established and will be used on skin colour data. RESULTS: The Minolta colour aspects a*, b* and L* measured before commercial harvest change in a sigmoidal fashion and can be analysed including the biological variation, with a logistic model in indexed nonlinear regression, obtaining explained parts of above 90%. The mechanism of colour change is not affected by state of development or location in the canopy. The location in the canopy affects the intensity of both red and green colouring compounds. The variation in colouration is not affected by the location in the canopy. CONCLUSION: The red‐coloured apple cultivar (Gala) depends more on the location in the canopy than the less‐coloured cultivars (Fuji and Braeburn). The colour development in Fuji apples is considerably slower, with a much larger variation in stage of development. The location in the canopy affects all aspects of biological variation (biological shift factor and asymptotic starting level of colouration) for all three colour aspects L*, a* and b*, but only the mean value, not the standard deviation.
