A total of 1% nanoclay containing polypropylene (PP)‐nanocomposite and 1% nanoclay plus 5% poly‐beta‐pinene (PβP) containing PP‐active‐nanocomposite materials were produced and tested for packaging of sliced salami. The sliced salami was packaged using both nanofilms and multilayer film of PP/PA/EVOH/PE under vacuum, modified atmosphere packaging under 50% CO2 and 50% N2 and air and stored at 4 °C for 90 days. During storage, headspace gas composition; microbial, physical and chemical analyses; and sensory evaluation were performed. The antimicrobial effect of PβP containing nanomaterial was pronounced under vacuum, and no bacterial growth was observed for 75 days. An a* value decreased notably in all applications during storage and preserved best by the multilayered material under vacuum and high CO2. Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) were 0.63 mg MDA/kg after the processing and gradually increased at all applications during increased storage. TBARS values of all vacuum applications were lower than that of modified atmosphere packaging applications. Rancid taste development was determined by sensory panelists when TBARS values were higher than 0.80 mg MDA/kg on the 90th day. There was no significant moisture loss, and no increase in hardness was determined during the whole storage time. The longest shelf life was 75 days for the sliced salami under vacuum and high CO2 using the multilayer material. PβP containing nanomaterial provided 50 days of shelf life under vacuum, which is commercially considerable. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Entropy-stabilized oxides represent a novel family of advanced ceramic materials with attractive functional properties. In this work, entropy-stabilized oxides, in the system (Mg, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn)O, were produced by co-precipitation and hydrothermal synthesis. Although TG/DTA and XRD analyses of as-synthetized powders point out complex thermal evolution, in both cases the desired single-phase rock salt solid solution was obtained after a proper thermal treatment. The dilatometric analysis points out the excellent sinterability of the obtained powders, which were successfully consolidated for the first time reaching nearly full density (~ 97%) at relatively low temperature (1050 °C).  相似文献

The present paper highlights the utility of petroleum chemical fingerprinting in investigating known or suspected tank farm releases. A detailed characterization of groundwater was carried out in three tank farms located in north, central and south Italy. Eighteen parent polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (naphthalene through coronene), n-alkanes (n-C(10) through n-C(36)), isoprenoids pristane and phytane, vanadium, nickel and lead were determined. Distribution profiles and diagnostic ratios of specific fuel constituents were studied in order to identify contamination sources. Data analysis shows that in the study sites multiple pollutant sources affecting the tank farms and the surrounding industrial areas are present. Both high concentrations of contaminants coming from fuel releases and noticeable concentrations of biogenic compounds were found. A detailed data analysis suggests the origin and the level of pollution of the three sites. The results demonstrate that threshold concentration approach is not always sufficient and it is necessary to carry out studies of contaminant distribution and their diagnostic ratios in order to perform a successful forensic investigation.  相似文献

The proteic profiling of bovine milk produced by cows with subclinical mastitis was obtained by MALDI mass spectrometry. A simple procedure of chemical fractionation of raw milk was developed, whereby less complex fractions of proteins were obtained prior to mass spectrometric and SDS-PAGE analysis. The profiles of milk proteins thus obtained could allow the identification of either early markers of the acute phase of mastitis or endogenous peptide of innate immune response. The activity of the endogenous proteases in raw milk produced from each quarter of healthy and mastic cows was therefore assayed over 24-, 48-, 96-, and 216-h incubation at 37 degrees C at both physiological and acid pH. Sequence-specific peptides were identified for each fraction by MS/MS experiments, and all tandem mass spectra were evaluated using MASCOT database searching. The results show a specific proteolytic activity of endogenous enzyme toward beta-casein precursor (P02666), alpha-S2-casein (P02663), alpha-S1-casein (P02662), and kappa-casein (P02668).  相似文献

The S100 protein family is a highly conserved group of Ca(2+)-binding proteins that belong to the EF-hand type and are considered potential drug targets. In the present study we focused our attention on two members of the family: S100A13 and S100B; the former is involved in the nonclassical protein release of two proangiogenic polypeptides FGF-1 and IL-1alpha that are involved in inflammatory processes, whereas S100B is known to interact with the C-terminal domain of the intracellular tumor suppressor p53 and promote cancer development. We screened, using waterLOGSY NMR experiments, 430 molecules of a generic fragment library and we identified different hits for each protein. The subset of fragments interacting with S100B has very few members in common with the subset interacting with S100A13. From the (15)N-HSQC NMR spectra of the proteins in the presence of those hits the chemical shift differences Deltadelta(HN) were calculated, and the main regions of surface interaction were identified. A relatively large variety of interaction regions for various ligands were identified for the two proteins, including known or suggested protein-protein interaction sites.  相似文献

In this paper using a negative feedback scheme we study the problem of synchronizing two systems (each of them made of n independent chaotic circuits) through the transmission of a unique signal (i.e. a scalar variable). To find the appropriate values of the feedback gains, an approach based on the design of an asymptotic observer leading to a set of linear matrix inequalities is used for piecewise linear systems, while for systems with continuous nonlinearities a master stability function approach is adopted. Numerical results showing the suitability of the approach are reported. Furthermore, the experiment showing separation and synchronization of two pairs of chaotic circuits is discussed. Despite the presence of parameter mismatches, separation and synchronization of the two systems can be achieved. This is an experimental demonstration of the successful possibility of multiplexing two (or more) chaotic signals in the same channel.  相似文献

Antibody-cytokine fusion proteins (immunocytokines) are gaining importance for cancer therapy, but those products are often limited by systemic toxicity related to the activity of the cytokine payload in circulation and in secondary lymphoid organs. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) is used as a pro-inflammatory payload to trigger haemorrhagic necrosis and boost anti-cancer immunity at the tumor site. Here we describe a depotentiated version of TNF (carrying the single point mutation I97A), which displayed reduced binding affinity to its cognate receptor tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNFR-1) and lower biocidal activity. The fusion of the TNF(I97A) mutant to the L19 antibody promoted restoration of anti-tumor activity upon accumulation on the cognate antigen, the alternatively spliced EDB domain of fibronectin. In vivo administration of high doses (375 μg/Kg) of the fusion protein showed a potent anti-tumor effect without apparent toxicity compared with the wild type protein. L19-TNFI97A holds promise for the targeted delivery of TNF activity to neoplastic lesions, helping spare normal tissues.  相似文献

Osteosarcopenia (OS) is defined by the concurrent presence of osteopenia/osteoporosis and sarcopenia. The pathogenesis and etiology of OS involve genetic, biochemical, mechanical, and lifestyle factors. Moreover, an inadequate nutritional status, such as low intake of protein, vitamin D, and calcium, and a reduction in physical activity are key risk factors for OS. This review aims to increase knowledge about diagnosis, incidence, etiology, and treatment of OS through clinical studies that treat OS as a single disease. Clinical studies show the relationship between OS and the risk of frailty, falls, and fractures and some association with Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) pathologies such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. In some cases, the importance of deepening the related mechanisms is emphasized. Physical exercise with adequate nutrition and nutritional supplementations such as proteins, Vitamin D, or calcium, represent a significant strategy for breaking OS. In addition, pharmacological interventions may confer benefits on muscle and bone health. Both non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions require additional randomized controlled trials (RCT) in humans to deepen the synergistic effect of exercise, nutritional interventions, and drug compounds in osteosarcopenia.  相似文献

In this paper, a fully integrated 40-Gb/s clock and data recovery (CDR) IC with additional 1:4 demultiplexer (DEMUX) functionality is presented. The IC is implemented in a state-of-the-art production SiGe process. Its phase-locked-loop-based architecture with bang-bang-type phase detector (PD) provides maximum robustness. To the authors' best knowledge, it is the first 40-Gb/s CDR IC fabricated in a SiGe heterojunction bipolar technology (HBT). The measurement results demonstrate an input sensitivity of 42-mV single-ended data input swing at a bit-error rate (BER) of 10-10. As demonstrated in optical transmission experiments with the IC embedded in a 40-Gb/s link, the CDR/DEMUX shows complete functionality as a single-chip-receiver IC. A BER of 10-10 requires an optical signal-to-noise ratio of 23.3 dB  相似文献
