From a global viewpoint, evolutionary algorithms (EAs) working on continuous search-spaces can be regarded as homogeneous Markov chains (MCs) with discrete time and continuous state. We analyse from this viewpoint the (1?+?1)EA on the inclined plane fitness landscape, and derive a closed-form expression for the probability of occupancy of an arbitrary target zone, at an arbitrary iteration of the EA. For the hitting-time of an arbitrary target zone, we provide lower and upper bounds, as well as an asymptotic limit. Discretization leads to an MC with discrete time, whose simple structure is exploited to carry out efficient numerical investigations of the theoretical results obtained. The numerical results thoroughly confirm the theoretical ones, and also suggest various conjectures which go beyond the theory.  相似文献

A method is developed for generating samples of the state X of a linear filter driven by Gaussian white noise. The method can also be applied to developed formulas giving the second moment properties of X. The proposed solution is based on two facts. First, the integrals defining the forcing component of X are continuous martingales because their integrands are continuous deterministic functions and their integrators are Brownian motions. Second, a continuous martingale satisfying some additional properties can be time changed to a standard Brownian motion. The proposed Monte Carlo algorithm for generating samples of X calculates samples of this process from samples of a standard Brownian motion defined in a new clock by mapping these samples to the original clock. The algorithm does not use recurrence formulas for generating samples of X and does not approximate the probability law of this process. Examples are presented to illustrate the application of the proposed method. The examples include the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process and the response of a simple oscillator and multi-degree-of-freedom system to Gaussian white noise.  相似文献

Genetic engineering of a novel protein–nanoparticle hybrid system with great potential for biosensing applications and for patterning of various types of nanoparticles is described. The hybrid system is based on a genetically modified chaperonin protein from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Sulfolobus shibatae. This chaperonin is an 18‐subunit double ring, which self‐assembles in the presence of Mg ions and ATP. Described here is a mutant chaperonin (His‐β‐loopless, HBLL) with increased access to the central cavity and His‐tags on each subunit extending into the central cavity. This mutant binds water‐soluble semiconductor quantum dots, creating a protein‐encapsulated fluorescent nanoparticle. The new bioconjugate has high affinity, in the order of strong antibody–antigen interactions, a one‐to‐one protein–nanoparticle stoichiometry, and high stability. By adding selective binding sites to the solvent‐exposed regions of the chaperonin, this protein–nanoparticle bioconjugate becomes a sensor for specific targets.  相似文献

The effect of ammonium polymolybdate (APM) on the corrosion of carbon steel in a solution of 1 M HCl was studied by weight loss and Mössbauer spectrometry. Inhibition efficiencies (P) have been obtained from weight measurement. The inhibition efficiencies increased with increase APM concentration. Mössbauer spectrometry shows that a superficial compound is formed on the electrode surface as a result of corrosion.  相似文献

Magnetoelectric composites of xNiFe2O4–(1 ? x)Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 with x = 2, 5, 10, 20, 30% were prepared by citrate–nitrate combustion using PZT-based template powders. In order to ensure a better connectivity of dissimilar phases, we have used chemical methods for preparation in situ composites, followed by adequate sintering procedure. The structural, microstructural and functional properties of di-phase magnetoelectric composites of NiFe2O4–PZT are reported. The XRD analysis is demonstrating the synthesis of pure ferrite phase directly on the ferroelectric templates. An excellent mixing was obtained in the composite powders, as proved by a detailed SEM analysis.The magnetic and dielectric behaviors of the ceramic composites vary with the ratio of the two phases. The dielectric behavior is greatly influenced by the magnetic phase. The magnetoelectric (ME) coefficient was measured as a function of applied DC magnetic field. The maximum ME coefficient (dE/dH) varies from 0.0011 mV/(cm Oe) to 0.5 mV/(cm Oe) with increasing of NF addition.  相似文献

We report the observation of room-temperature optical gain at 1.3 μm in electrically driven dilute nitride vertical cavity semiconductor optical amplifiers. The gain is calculated with respect to injected power for samples with and without a confinement aperture. At lower injected powers, a gain of almost 10 dB is observed in both samples. At injection powers over 5 nW, the gain is observed to decrease. For nearly all investigated power levels, the sample with confinement aperture gives slightly higher gain.  相似文献

Significant interest has been shown in identifying the nonlinear mechanisms that induce a ringing type response in offshore structural systems. This high frequency transient type response has been observed in offshore systems, particularly in tension leg platforms (TLPs). Given the implications of this behavior on the fatigue life of TLP tendons, it is essential that ringing be considered in the overall response evaluation. This study presents two non-Gaussian probabilistic models of nonlinear viscous hydrodynamic wave forces that induce ringing. The response of a single-degree-of-freedom system exposed to these non-Gaussian wave force models is then evaluated using analytical and numerical studies based on the It? differentiation rule and the Monte Carlo simulation procedure, respectively. The results demonstrate that the proposed models induce ringing type response in a simplified structure. This study provides a probabilistic framework for modeling ringing type phenomenon which will serve as a building block for more refined hydrodynamic load models.  相似文献

A new model is developed for non-Gaussian processes. The model is based on the spectral representation theorem for weakly stationary processes, can match the second moment properties and several higher order moments of any non-Gaussian process, and consists of a superposition of harmonics with uncorrelated but dependent random amplitudes. The calibration of the model to a target non-Gaussian process may require iterations. The It? formula is used to calculate higher-order moments of the proposed model. These moments can be used to tune the model such that it matches some of the higher-order moments of a target non-Gaussian process in addition to its second-moment properties. The proposed model is useful for both Monte Carlo simulation and analytical studies on the response of linear and nonlinear systems to non-Gaussian noise. Examples are presented to illustrate the use of the proposed model.  相似文献
