The study of the Web as a graph is not only fascinating in its own right, but also yields valuable insight into Web algorithms for crawling, searching and community discovery, and the sociological phenomena which characterize its evolution. We report on experiments on local and global properties of the Web graph using two AltaVista crawls each with over 200 million pages and 1.5 billion links. Our study indicates that the macroscopic structure of the Web is considerably more intricate than suggested by earlier experiments on a smaller scale.  相似文献

The automation of rotorcraft low-altitude flight presents challenging problems in control, computer vision, and image understanding. A critical element in this problem is the ability to detect and locate obstacles, using on-board sensors, and to modify the nominal trajectory. This requirement is also necessary for the safe landing of an autonomous lander on Mars. This paper examines some of the issues in the location of objects, using a sequence of images from a passive sensor, and describes a Kalman filter approach to estimate range to obstacles. The Kalman filter is also used to track features in the images leading to a significant reduction of search effort in the feature-extraction step of the algorithm. The method can compute range for both straightline and curvilinear motion of the sensor. An experiment is designed in the laboratory to acquire a sequence of images along with the sensor motion parameters under conditions similar to helicopter flight. The paper presents range estimation results using this imagery.  相似文献

The Neyriz ophiolite occurs along the Zagros suture zone in SW Iran, and is part of a 3000-km obduction belt thrusting over the edge of the Arabian continent during the late Cretaceous. This complex typically consists of altered dunites and peridotites, layered and massive gabbros, sheeted dykes and pillow lavas, and a thick sequence of radiolarites. Reflectance and emittance spectra of Neyriz ophiolite rock samples were measured in the laboratory and their spectra were used as endmembers in a spectral feature fitting (SFF) algorithm. Laboratory spectral reflectance measurements of field samples showed that in the visible through shortwave infrared (VNIR-SWIR) wavelength region the ultramafic and gabbroic rocks are characterized by ferrous-iron and Fe, MgOH spectral features, and the pillow lavas and radiolarites are characterized by spectral features of ferric-iron and AlOH. The laboratory spectral emittance spectra also revealed a wide wavelength range of SiO spectral features for the ophiolite rock units. After continuum removal of the spectra, the SFF classification method was applied to the VNIR + SWIR 9-band stack, and to the 11-band data set of SWIR and TIR data sets of the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) sensor, using field spectra as training sets for evaluating the potential of these data sets in discriminating ophiolite rock units. Output results were compared with the geological map of the area and field observations, and were assessed by the use of confusion matrices. The assessment showed, in terms of kappa coefficient, that the SFF classification method with continuum removal applied to the SWIR data achieved excellent results, which were distinctively better than those obtained using VNIR + SWIR data and TIR data alone.  相似文献

In this paper two problems on the class of k -trees, a subclass of the class of chordal graphs, are considered: the fast reordering problem and the isomorphism problem. An O(log 2 n) time parallel algorithm for the fast reordering problem is described that uses O(nk(n-k)/\kern -1ptlog n) processors on a CRCW PRAM proving membership in the class NC for fixed k . An O(nk(k+1)!) time sequential algorithm for the isomorphism problem is obtained representing an improvement over the O(n 2 k(k+1)!) algorithm of Sekharan (the second author) [10]. A parallel version of this sequential algorithm is presented that runs in O(log 2 n) time using O((nk((k+1)!+n-k))/log n) processors improving on a parallel algorithm of Sekharan for the isomorphism problem [10]. Both the sequential and parallel algorithms use a concept introduced in this paper called the kernel of a k -tree.  相似文献

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic studies on the activated pure CaNi5 alloy as well as the hydride formed at 1 atm pressure and room temperature, CaNi5H4.8, showed that on activation calcium segregates to the surface and forms the oxide, whereas most of the nickel on the surface is present in the metallic form. This indicates that the coexistance of the oxide phase and the metal phase is essential for the facile hydriding behaviour of CaNi5.  相似文献

Nonlinear finite element analysis is used for the estimation of damage due to low-velocity impact loading of laminated composite circular plates. The impact loading is treated as an equivalent static loading by assuming the impactor to be spherical and the contact to obey Hertzian law. The stresses in the laminate are calculated using a 48 d.o.f. laminated composite sector element. Subsequently, the Tsai-Wu criterion is used to detect the zones of failure and the maximum stress criterion is used to identify the mode of failure. Then the material properties of the laminate are degraded in the failed regions. The stress analysis is performed again using the degraded properties of the plies. The iterative process is repeated until no more failure is detected in the laminate. The problem of a typical T300/N5208 composite [45 °/0 °/ − 45 °/90 °]s circular plate being impacted by a spherical impactor is solved and the results are compared with experimental and analytical results available in the literature. The method proposed and the computer code developed can handle symmetric, as well as unsymmetric, laminates. It can be easily extended to cover the impact of composite rectangular plates, shell panels and shells.  相似文献

The ability of rotorcraft to fly at low altitude is hindered by the high pilot workload required to avoid obstacles. The development of automation tools that can detect obstacles in the rotorcraft flight path, warn the crew, and interact with the guidance system to avoid detected obstacles would significantly reduce pilot workload and increase safety. This article describes an obstacle detection approach based on feature tracking and recursive range estimation that takes into account the characteristics of rotorcraft flight. The merits and weaknesses of the approach are discussed using image sequences from the laboratory and from flight. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

A non-linear form relating vegetation indices (VI) to crop grain yields which normalizes for differences in acquisition date is suggested. It is based on the assumption that deviations in VI near the peak VI follow a quadratic behaviour. This form gave a higher R2 value than a simple VI-yield linear model on a multi-year, multi-location data set of IRS (Indian Remote Sensing Satellite-1A) LISS-I(Linear Imaging Self Scanner-I) derived near-infrared (NIR)/red radiance ratios and wheat grain yields in a study site in Madhya Pradesh (India). As the suggested model includes time of peak as a variable, it allows integration of results from other sources, such as, weather-based crop phenology model or high repetivity spectral data into the VI-yield relation.  相似文献
